Thank you Jon for showing us the strange and spooky themed restaurants in NYC. I like strange things so I wouldn’t mind dining at these weird restaurants.🤔
Jon I've been watching your videos for a while (and actually moved to NYC from Texas in that time frame) and I just want to say that your commentary and ideas have gotten even funnier and more entertaining over the years. Really appreciate your growth as a content creator!!!
I would agree with you on grammatical principle… however a lot of the really weird restaurants in the U.S. for the past century, have mostly gravitated to 5 cities. 1) NYC 2) Los Angeles 3) San Francisco 4) Portland 5) Anchorage With this said picking restaurants in one of the cities in the top 5, statistically gives enough chance on the law of averages to qualify for his statement.
@kooycat1789 I am confused about what part, of what I said makes that so. Is it about the grammar, the statistics, do you disagree with the cities listed, or are you going further and insisting that in order for it to count that he would need to include at least one weird restaurant from each state? You just left an incomplete sentence, with no context for me to try to rationalize your point.
That frog was severely overcooked. Frogs are very good and kinda of taste like eating chicken and fish at the same time. However it should only be deep fried for the same amount of time you would fish and/or chicken. So it should have a light crisp crunch when you bite in it… if it sounds like you are eating dry cornflakes, like yours did it’s overcooked.
You can get rid of the fishy flavor if you marinate the frogs in alcohol, but yeah that first bite to me always was closer to halibut; then switches to dark meat chicken as you chew.
$8 for a pitcher of beer , that’s wild when you can easily pay ten dollars for a schooner of beer in Sydney. Great video and some really cool restaurants there , loved the last one particularly. I guess Adriana hasn’t turned you into frog yet.👀👍
First of all, a RUclips video that gets not just to the nitty but also the gritty within the first 30 seconds of the video? The internet needs more of that. And a Queer-owned “wizard-inspired” restaurant? 🙌🏼 And that nostalgic restaurant I need to visit at least once in my life I think
I like themed resturaunts because there is only so much U can talk about at a stabdard resturaunt. With a themed resturant there is loads of stuff U can discuss.
I've been to the Trailer Park Lounge. It's located on 23rd Street in Chelsea. The decor is so "kitchy." Some of the displays come from old-time amusement parks. There were a few items that were old-time Miller Beer display with neon lights simulating a pouring beer. You'll see many of the displays are from yesteryear. Love the tater tots! Before Covid, they had a great happy hour. You can buy a pitcher of Margheritas. Go with a bunch of friends and drink the night away. Not sure if they still have a happy hour. It is a definite place to stop & check it out. 😊
of all of those I would go to Burp Castle....it is one reason I do not go out to bars or clubs..I can not stand all the loud noises and big crowds, I just want to sit quietly and enjoy my beer.
How about a decent, comfortable restaurant with good, reasonably priced food. That would be weird huh? That Beetle restaurant would piss me off big time.
This has to be the wildest video great change of pace n interesting attractions. Nice to see Action kid. Hope his limp gets better best to you your family n action kid 😊
Just some days before christmas we've been to a themed restaurant in the suburb of Naples, Italy it was dedicated to Tim Burton, so it was all about his most famous movies : beetlejouce mainly. But we didn't have to have a full menu, so we spent way less than you. I must say it was excellently themed, even outside and you were greeted by strange characters and have a tour in a special room, where you could access through the "rabbit hole" a small door by crawling through it
Thanks for the insight on these…special places. It sure looks like a funny experience. 😂 Could you please do a video about things to do in NYC when celebrating birthday? Like getting free stuff at different places or the best spots to celebrate birthday?
I think the Tim Burton one was the coolest looking one I think that's way worth the money I also think the fake Harry Potter one is a big let down because they have no food I mean come on literally where is the food a big missed opportunity I don't think it's worth it if you just making potions and that's it
Thanks for this, always intruiged by the strange things out there. And Beetle House is only a 20 minute walk from the hotel I'm going to be staying in. Very tempted to check it out. Another great vid. Also a shout out to ActionKid for his frog based dad joke. Can't go wrong with a dad joke lol
Great video! Would love to watch one of you rating some of the best bbq steakhouses in NY. We’re going in October and can’t decide which one to pick lol
@HereBeBarr I'm not talking abou Mexico. I'm talking about how that name has always been pronounced in the English language way. It's also a name from the UK and it's pronounced in the way I mentioned. So Americans should know the correct way to say it
Wasabi, not wazabi, frog legs is not strange. Frog legs are awesome! And often called poor man's chicken. Also, they can't really make a Harry Potter theme restaurant simply because Warner Brothers are bastards and will nail you to the wall with their IPS. You can't even do derivative art with Warner Brothers.
This was such a unique and creative video - thanks for taking us along! I have lived in NY all my life and had not heard of any of these places (other than the potion making place).
The first restaurant the Tim Burton restaurant had the best Jack Skellington better than Disneyland I'm not even kidding the Disneyland guy looks like an alien
OMG, looks cool, but I had to bail. I’m getting ad interruptions literally about every 30 seconds or so. Literally literally-no exaggeration. I’m only 2.5 minutes in and on my fifth set of ads.

Dude, your posting too much and too often, you lost my attention
smh they don't have the bull p3ni5 at Kenka anymore
I had it for my 21st.
They're now; owed by, Disney.
Jack Skellington: You have a tube? just for you?! im cracking up.. oh my lord.
It's Lydia Deetz not Lydia Addams
I turned the video off when he said that
My wires got crossed b/w 2 movies 😂
Wait that tim Burton one is actually so cool 😂😂
Let’s go
Thank you Jon for showing us the strange and spooky themed restaurants in NYC. I like strange things so I wouldn’t mind dining at these weird restaurants.🤔
There are strange themed restaurant like these sprawling in Italy too. I just went to a timburton themed pub in the suburb of Naples italy
@@MarilynLoveYou Good to know, thank you!😃
The japanese bar actually looks like a lot of fun! and $8 Pitcher? YES PLEASE!!
Can get dangerous haha.
We just made reservations for Beetle House! Thanks for the great reviews.
Jon I've been watching your videos for a while (and actually moved to NYC from Texas in that time frame) and I just want to say that your commentary and ideas have gotten even funnier and more entertaining over the years. Really appreciate your growth as a content creator!!!
Good thing The Cauldron was there to lengthen your lifespan after the Beetle House mwhahaha
Thanks for being a hilarious co-star
❤️ that potions class! ❤️ chemistry!
They need to bring Mars 2112 back
You cant say "5 weirdest restaraunts in America" When all the restaraunts are in the hell hole of NYC
Wouldn't a "hell hole" like New York be the perfect spot for the 5 Weirdest Restaurants?
you haven't traveled if you think that, you goof

@@hosswik You're full of crap

Every location is a gem. Shout out to the camerman and the editor. Great work, excellent video. Good job team.
Awesome video Jon!
Recommendation noted. Thank you.
The monk bar seems perfect for people with sensory issues with noise.
Please not Lydia Adam’s 💀
The Tim burton restaurant was awesome
In America? NYC is far from America, especially in 2025.
As a burton fan I’ll have to remember this if I visit New York
this jack skellington looks better than the on at disneyland
I was just gonna post that myself. Disneyland's Jack is honestly and ironically pretty bad.
I mean, obviously you would only go to the Tim Burton restaurant if you were into the theme and liked Tim Burton. Those hardly seem like negatives
The strangest theme restaurants "in America" but mostly just Manhattan. XD
That frog was severely overcooked.

“A mix of chicken and fish” is exactly how I described the one time I tried frog legs.
You can get rid of the fishy flavor if you marinate the frogs in alcohol, but yeah that first bite to me always was closer to halibut; then switches to dark meat chicken as you chew.

NYC needs more themed restaurants, bars and cafes. It’s one of the things I miss most about Tokyo!
I love beetlehouse been there many times and the food is amazing. It’s cheaper to go to the bar there’s no minimum
The bar is def the budget option
"and now you're drunk" LOL
😂😂
my family took me to the Beetle House last summer and i loved it! I’m thinking of going again for my 21st, or going to the Vampire Cafe in NOLA

Yes it was fun
Awesome video, and equally awesome editing.
Beware you in for a scare goosebumps
Love the editinggggg !! ❤❤❤😂😂

omg action kidd and action barr are back together again!!!!
Would have been more helpful if you also sampled their more popular food items, to see the “best” they have to offer.
How about a decent, comfortable restaurant with good, reasonably priced food. That would be weird huh?
That Beetle restaurant would piss me off big time.
I seem to remember reading about a Christmas themed bar, I think in Brooklyn, where it's Christmas all-year round. Is/was that a thing?
That was NOT a Cadillac, it was 55-57' Chevy Bel Air, lol😂😂
You have a tube?! 😅
Just for Youuuu? 😂
Very entertaining! Great job! 👏
You need a decent mic if you have to hold it all the time.
Go to ravens manor in Portland
Jon your wife meant to say: "gordos" 😅
🤣
Wonder if they saw Nick V.Barbera at the Beetle House…that Skellington sounded familiar
This has to be the wildest video great change of pace n interesting attractions. Nice to see Action kid. Hope his limp gets better best to you your family n action kid 😊
11:41 that typewriter looks like it came straight from the tortured poets department
Awesome I agree as well
I now have a reason to go to New York
Ughhh I wanna go to that Tim Burton restaurant soooo badly!! It was closed the last time I was in NYC 😭
I'll definitely do Kenka and the Trailer park.
They should have a Sunnyvale trailer park @trailerparkboys

Looks like a mid 50s Belair
Great video! Would love to watch one of you rating some of the best bbq steakhouses in NY. We’re going in October and can’t decide which one to pick lol
beatle juice house we went to one tear for my buddys wifes b day. after 3 hours outside he never made reservations so we had to leave
Lydia Deetz. Not Lydia adams.
I definitely have to check out that Japanese restaurant! 👀
15:45
That’s a Chevy Bel-Air my brother.
I had a feeling I messed that up 😂
@HereBeBarr
Hey, with all the Elvis stuff who could blame you for saying pink Cadillac?! Lol.
Shoutouts to Burp Castle. Very good beer selection there.
Jon and Ken together again!! Favorites❤
* * * Lydia Addams ... 2:19 ... I see what ya did there
Nice video keep it up😊
Ain’t people going to restaurants for better food?? Those restaurants don’t have tasty food, tend to making up some wired stuff to attract customers…
Why is he pronouncing Adriana so weirdly, he says Ahd-dree-ah-nah when it's Ay-jree-anna
That's the correct pronunciation in Mexico. Everyone else here says it wrong 😂
@HereBeBarr I'm not talking abou Mexico. I'm talking about how that name has always been pronounced in the English language way. It's also a name from the UK and it's pronounced in the way I mentioned. So Americans should know the correct way to say it

Call it like it is: weird themed bars. Too much emphasis on alcohol.
New York has the most random restaurants
Action kid- Hold the gas man! Nice video.
Got a little carried away lol 😂
Wazzzabi?
This was such a unique and creative video - thanks for taking us along! I have lived in NY all my life and had not heard of any of these places (other than the potion making place).
LOVE Detroit-style pizza and Lions, Tigers, and Squares does some really interesting flavors!
Yes was so good
Was there cheese on top or just sauce?
The first restaurant the Tim Burton restaurant had the best Jack Skellington better than Disneyland I'm not even kidding the Disneyland guy looks like an alien
Kenka on a saturday night before or after the club was elite. Food was eh but the drinks hit everytime.
Oh i bet 😂
I Tried Weird Themed Restaurants *in New York
You lost all the Emos & Goths when you say Lydia Addams... How dare you!? 💔
I don't know. I think somebody's tipsy, lol.
😂
The video was awesome thanks for sharing

Great video and wow can't wait to go to NYC again someday
OMG, looks cool, but I had to bail. I’m getting ad interruptions literally about every 30 seconds or so. Literally literally-no exaggeration. I’m only 2.5 minutes in and on my fifth set of ads.

Not our kind of places, but Thanks for the video !
Hi Brazil. From rio de janeiro 🎉 eu amo su programa
Nice to see you get weird! As an introvert who likes Belgian beer, I love Burp Castle
This was such a fun watch. Lady A has a great sense of humor, we don't always get to see that. ✨️🪄
