Awesome pick, it’s a wonderful game My JRPG of the year was Trails Through Daybreak. I love the cast, story, combat system and music. Van Arkride is an awesome protagonist. As much as I love Like A Dragon 8, Trails just won.

That DLC has got me hyped. Marisa is a interesting character. Her friendship with CJ. The Guardians. There is a lot of potential. Delaying the DLC was expected with a small team like Rabbit & Bear Studios and the passing of Yoshitaka Murayama.

I have always had a philosophy that a lot of the times, most people's personal favorite games are hidden in the upper 70's and 7 our of 10's because there are deeply personal and heartfelt passions that resonate beyond the games flaws. I always can acknowledge the impact of an amazing 8 or 9 out of 10 game, but I feel the 7 out of 10's are what make me really love games. I definitely want to play your pick, as it has been sitting on my list for a while, and after I get Through Romancing SaGa 2, this is next. Awesome Content bro, keep doing your thing!

Good pick, defenitly top 3 material for me too. If it wasn´t the best year for JRPGs in decades it would have been my JRPG Of The Year too. GOTY is subjective, that´s fine. Old game design doesn´t bother me, at one point in my life it was just standard, I enjoyed the games back then and still do.

Great list! My JRPG of the year is definitely Like a Dragon IW, that game helped me go through a really hard time, plus that game is crazy, fun and very thoughtful. Would be nice if you could give it a go!

Personally, my JRPG of the year 2024 as well as GOTY 2024 would be Xenogears Perfect Works Build as this was a passion project from a huge ass fan of Xenogears to rework the dialogue and gameplay of the original release, and not to mention the mad lad is still working on this game even now and working on including the cut content and giving us the full Xenogears experience. That being said, Eiyuden Chronicles for all its imperfections (and screwjob localization) is still a damn good contender for JRPG and GOTY 2024 too might I add.

Haha go in with decent expectations! I liked it a lot but it does have some flaws of old school game design! Appreciate as it is and you just may enjoy it!
It’s good but has some weird stuff like equipping dash boots to run fast. The best part is how fast low level characters catch up in level. It’s satisfying. There are some parts where you gotta get rare drops but I waited til I got item drop gear and gottem quick. Top game is easy with this too. Only thing I don’t like is the cooking quest.
Well as I have already said Ff7 rebirth is my JRPG of the year. The character development is great the music is excellent and the combat is great as with all games it has its flaws for sure. I basically picked this cause my bias towards the series and now I am really hoping the last game will stick the landing. This barely beat out metaphor refantazio despite the bias.
FF7 was pretty good! I personally can’t wait to see how the final game plays out, I’m waiting for the trilogy to be completed before I jump in, so I can enjoy the full story with no interruptions! Thanks for watching fam!!
