A friend of mine and I visited this mansion as construction was coming to a completion. It is a beautiful structure up in the hills outside of Sosua. But there is a back story to this. The original owner was a guy named Charlie. He owned the escort resort by the name of Charli's Angels which was located at a beachfront villa outside of Sosua. The escorts were primarily Ukrainian girls and this was to be their new home to "entertain". It took approximately four years to complete and, as I understand, five million dollars. Why so long? Well, Charlie thought he knew more about construction than the professionals, so it was one thing after another that had to be repaired before opening to clients/guests because of his interference. After the first week of opening, it had to be closed down because of faulty plumbing and electricity. My friend says it never opened again. Anyway, it is a quiet location with gorgeous landscaping surrounding the property. I don't know whatever happened to Charlie.
WOW….!!!! Interesting story. But I’m not one least bit surprised. The decor of the property tells a story. It fits the stereotype, typical taste of an underworld mafiosi figure. I suspect that Charlie is either in prison serving time, got bumped off, passed away, in a nursing home or for his sake and although highly unlikely, just too old and feeble and at this time sitting on a rocking chair playing with his grandchildren
@@williampolancos3673 I'll tell you what, William. There's been a lot of Russian money invested in the north coast of DR. If Charlie got involved with any of it, he may be in Siberia right now.
@@pablob9265 -FOR SURE….!!!! Charlie probably didn’t meet the deadline for grand opening and perhaps it didn’t make a few of his associates happy. The rest of the story I doubt had a happy ending. Nevertheless, most definitely there is drama and intrigue here to make for a great TV crime series.
If they really want to sell that house it needs redecorating. It looks dated like a former drug lord, Miami vive house in the 1980’s The style is bórax nouveau-riche and after paying 10 million don’t feel like spending more money redoing the property
