I am not sure what you are asking, but I will try to answer it anyways. The big goal we are working towards IS indeed expressing ourselves bolder and less apologetically. However, there are internal emotional issues in the way preventing us from doing that. So the way to get to that big personal expression is NOT to keep being big for now. It is to slow down and go inwards to deal with the emotions. Then, once that is done, we can go BACK to being bold and asserting ourselves less apologetically from a better place. So it is not one or the other. It is that one supports the other better. Hope that helps!

The way I see retrogrades is this: The pre-retrograde period we become AWARE of what the issue is that needs to be resolved. The actual retrograde period we then take action to RESOLVE that issue we became aware of (which is usually challenging).. The post-retrograde period we then see how well we did and make MORE TWEAKS from a better place to adjust our situation accordingly. So in that sense, with mercury about to go retrograde - we have previously started to become aware of the fears around asserting ourselves. Now we are taking the actions internally in order to resolve those. Then, we will see how well we did and make more tweaks. I think your words of primer and test are relevant!
