lived in Chandler in 2008, One thing that you did not mention is the 'red light cameras' I don't know if Phoenix proper has them but some cities do.

Appreciate the comment! I honestly haven't even thought about red light cameras for a while. I don't know if most of them have been taken down or I just don't pay attention anymore? But I think there are still a few police vans out there with cameras in certain areas so it is definitely a good topic to mention in future videos (:

Very good video! BUT..the reason we built here in Surprise in 2004 was the beautiful farmland. Glendale annexed a lot of property & seems to be hell bent on making this once beautiful area into a manufacturing hub. Warehouses are going up everywhere, ruining our agricultural environment & views of the White Tank & Estrella mountains. It means more trucks coming & going adding traffic & pollution. And we love Luke Air Force Base..they do NOT fly 24/7 everyday of the week-it’s mostly M-F..it IS a training base..so don’t buy or rent here & then complain about jet noise! We love Luke & watching the jets flying over-it brings a sense of patriotism-at least for most people who live here. Just do your research before moving here! The weather is gorgeous..it does get hot but I can certainly stand triple digit temps with low humidity for 3-4 months in exchange for 8-9 months of beautiful weather. And if you want to see snow, you can head up I-17 N to Flagstaff’s Snowbowl! 😊

Thank you for your feedback! I always love when someone local can share their point of view 🙂 I know a lot of others who have similar opinions re the new growth and the frustration it has brought. (not only in Surprise but all of the rural areas as well) I'm not sure what the solution is since people continue to want to move here and we will always need more jobs/housing. I completely understand the negatives involved but there are some positives to it as well. As far as Luke goes, I appreciate your thoughts on that as well and love that you appreciate the jets flying over. I am a fan as well but I always have to let people know in advance when they are looking in the area because some people do not want the overhead air traffic noise (including several service members I've helped who work out at Luke full time) so we can't just say they are not patriotic as well 😀 But thank you again for such a nice comment and feedback. We appreciate it!!

I think the City of Phoenix "Bulk Trash" pickup is a controversial topic.

Appreciate the comment! Can you share your thoughts on why it is controversial? We live in Phoenix and have mostly had positive experiences with it outside of some challenges last year when the bulk trash pickup got behind schedule several weeks (I believe due to all of the storm damage from downed trees, etc). Would be interesting to hear if you have had some other problems.

@@LivinginPhoenixAZ Well, for some reason the people in my neighborhood think that my house is the "official" dumping zone. The pile gets so big that the City of Phoenix will not pick it up. Then the City cites me and tell me it is my responsibility to clean it up. I only get one free dump per month with my "water bill" but it usually takes more at $55 each trip plus my time. The City will not help, the Police will not help. Yes, I am Angry!

I hear you. That does not sound fun at all. Hard to understand why people would just assume that your house is the "dumping zone"? The only thing I could think of would be to put out signs that say No Dumping and that the area is being monitored.
