i loved all of these levels! they are pretty well designed. also imagine if you died at the very end of the grand finale, i would be pretty upset if that were to happen haha
Salut Jcool !!
Nice 60fps gameplay! I didn't even know this hack existed until today. Was it not advertised as well or something? Because I been following the community tightly since it began. Anyways, always love for monkey race and boat soundtracks! ♥😘
Someday, I’d love to either make a Super Monkey Ball (original GameCube series) hack or some original Super Monkey Ball games (examples: Super Monkey Ball Club and Super Monkey Ball: Touch & Roll HD where the characters are in their original designs (even Sonic could be playable as a DLC, but without Modern Sonic, Classic Sonic is Modern Sega’s excuse of catering to nostalgia) and the songs might as well be the original versions of the SMBBB songs from... well, Touch & Roll)!
Got a couple of level choice complaints in Beginner and Beginner Extra: Why is Fish Slave still in these community packs and why is Wings 3D included? I'd replace them with some of Bites' levels like Mouseholes and Sliced Floors. I do also think there are some better choices for Master and Master Extra, once again some of Bites' levels. It's also a bit of a step back using SMB's minigame music again. Not that there's anything wrong with it, but it seems weird to go back to it after v1.5 had custom music. That being said this is a really great compilation overall.
We didn't want to use too many more levels from creators like Bites because there were already quite a few of them featured in here, and too many of them would start to make it feel more like a Bites pack than a compilation pack. Levels like Wings3D and some others were included because the people picking stages liked them, they don't all stand out as masterpieces or anything but some of them have some character and/or nostalgia that helped them stand out a bit more. As for music, there were some issues with getting that done for both 1.5 and this pack in terms of picking songs, deciding where they'll go and fit theme wise, and formatting them properly to work in-game, and ultimately we decided to not bother with it this time around. Appreciate the feedback, and I'm glad you like the pack overall!
This made me think of something What happens with the lives after collecting 100 bananas but you're at 99 lives already? Does the game count them or does the game go "oh you have 99 lives why the hell are you even collecting these things you overachiever you're not getting any more till you back to 98"
Jcool114 Interesting, is that because they’re slightly lower than the rest of the platform or there’s like a manual edit that can be done to make them fall out zones? Reminds me of the glitch in the first Monkey Ball on Expert 27 where you can fall out without actually falling off lol
Grand Finale and Culmination...feel less graceful here. You've seen their level design philosophies at play here, but you haven't been as properly introduced as you'd have been in their respective level packs. Gaiden in particular is so, very...different, with all its moving parts...and Culmination is not the culmination of what has been seen before.
I agree with what you said about culmination, but not for grand finale. The levels in gaiden tend to be extremely long, and the grand finale in gaiden was another long level with a 5-minute timer. Here, it’s unique since it’s the longest level in this, almost overwhelmingly so. It's length becomes what makes it unique. However, the boost panels weren't properly given an introduction in this, so you do have a point there.
Why does this mod have a ultamite mode?! One thing will always be true about super monkey ball 2: It isn't meant to have all of the levels played one after another. As such there are no saves because smb2 wasn't built with ultamite mode in mind.
@KokiczDrzewny Funny that you say that because this was a old comment. I was more or less confused at the sight of ultimate mode in a SMB2 mod because the OG game didn't have it

Wait a minute.
That’s the slide level from Mario 64.
HA Drainage! I love that someone did a remake of Super Mario 64 Princess Peach slide. And this looks like a fun comp.
55:17 I love how this one is almost a mashup between the ramps stage from SMB2 World 1 and Eaten Floor.
Yeah, it was already in monkeyed ball 2 before this
1:51:44 No. I'm scared and I hate it. Get it away.
(jokes aside that is probably my favorite level because WOW that is extremely unique!)
That final level is insane, wow.
Check out Monkey Ball Gaiden. The level is from there and that romhack is filled with insane levels.
@@Dethraxx Agreed. Let's just say I had to superglue my controller's joystick back on due to sheer frustration in world 10

Damn, nice play-through! Most of those Master-extra levels were literal hell for me when I first played them, they’re ridiculous!
I expected the final ME stage to be ''Oh, Screw This!'' from Monkeyed Ball 2. And then I saw the stage... 5 minute marathon stage.
Nice 60fps gameplay! I didn't even know this hack existed until today. Was it not advertised as well or something? Because I been following the community tightly since it began. Anyways, always love for monkey race and boat soundtracks! ♥😘
god damm when modding community unites it results unbeliveable stuff beyond what offical devs could do :O
The music is all Party Game music from all the Party Games hold Monkey Baseball and Monkey Tennis.
Oh jeez i didnt know that you could add that many levels into smb2 cool!

1:51:44 EVIL MONKEY BALL BE LIKE:
"You move the monkey, not the stage."
Your palms must be sweating by the end.
On beginner EX 10 that's sonic heroes egg fleet background nice job who ever did that 👌
1:01:46 perfect music transition
Cool.👍
Drainage? More like, SUPER MARIO 64!
That is the inspiration
It would have been nice if I could enter master mode as soon as I unlock it
I just had thought
If theres master mode
How would master stage/track music sound in example monkey race and monkey shoot? 🤔🤔
I find it weird how some of the backgrounds are just still images on the levels.

he/she’s now called twilight
This made me think of something

Does the game count them or does the game go "oh you have 99 lives why the hell are you even collecting these things you overachiever you're not getting any more till you back to 98"
The game does indeed count them. I've seen it myself.
Aiai should be a character in smash bros
Is it just me, or is the general difficulty level for this hack a bit lower than even the vanilla Super Monkey Ball 2 game?
I would agree for the most part.
Master here is much harder than the vanilla master tho
Tell that to Gaiden.
Such as Master EX 10: The Grand Finale.
Who made this pack? Can I give a request?
1:54 30:32 1:41:35
48:45 What song was used for the bonus stage?
Monkey Golf menu theme.
How does one go about making these? They look like so much fun but I’m sure it requires an extensive knowledge of game design
Advanced lvl 16 to advanced 19
Dang nice music if only i knew what it was and download it :O
I think it's the monkey shot expert course theme.
Lets see
Update: huh its :o idk why i havent heard it before?
It kinda feels like aquatic remix of monkey race expert stage or its just me? XP
Not just you, it definitely does feel like that!
How do you play this exactly
How do you play dis
this dude literally made a level that was almost 5 minutes long.
It's from Monkey Ball Gaiden. That romhack is filled with insanely long levels & it's hard af as well.
Wow
I'll be honest and say I don't like these levels. I feel like they don't follow the SMB2 feel. I don't really know how to express it.
what is the song at 7:58 from?
Monkey Golf theme.
1:01:26
"Is Elon Musk Watching Me?"

Lol, beginner final floor is just sm64 slider renamed to a sewer.
master extra 4 is *way* harder than it looks.
Dat final level tho
