Oh my goodness, yes. There was a person in my life who tries (often successfully) to pull the puppet strings. And when that doesn't go as planned, he maliciously inflicts harm. I had never experienced such purposeful mean-spiritedness before this so I didn't recognize it as such. I kept making what I thought were compassionate allowances for this behavior and, over the years, whittled myself down to a very small existence. I did have a childish mindset with a hope of being (financially) taken care of, however modestly. So, I am having to develop that strength now. There was no loyalty. (well, toward me anyway). When I finally decided that I wanted and deserved better, I was made 'the bad guy' by the rest of my family. Again, these were very important lessons, although they were delivered with such cruelty. It is a hard climb back up to being my fullest, healthiest self, but I AM. And I intend to establish a monetary security that is abundant, not as meager as it was all those years.
