I have used this a couple of times and I keep getting flashing smiley until I run out. I have got a 20 pack this time around am hoping it work and hoping to get pregnant this month 🤞
Yes getting nothing but the flashing smiley face is a little discouraging for sure. Hopefully with the extra tests you will see a surge next time. If anything pay close attention to your cm for your guide as well. I hope you get pregnant soon! Good luck!
@@selmahaitewa19 I read on the clear blue website that they say to test after your longest sleep, which is interesting because not everyone is first waking up in the morning. So I would test it that way. Then when it starts to flash, divide your awake time by two and test at those intervals. I know I say my favorite time is 1, but next time I will do first morning with the purple holder and see how it all turns out😀 I hope this helps and you see your peak!
I got false positives two cycles out of the two that I used them for with Clearblue advanced digital. It was confirmed both times that I did not even have any dominant follicles yet at the time. The line tests are much more accurate in my opinion.
The tests will be positive if your lh hormone reaches 40 or above, but that does not guarantee that you have a dominant follicle that is ready to ovulate and can fail to have an ovulation. The best way to confirm is progesterone testing at 7 days after you think you have or taking your bbt every morning to see the change in temperature to confirm ovulation. If you have pcos you can talk to your doctor about what you can do. Good luck!😊

@@tubonimiwaquong3233 Yes unfortunately this is where the flashing smiley face Goes from fun too stressful. Don’t worry flashing for three days is totally OK but if you’re still flashing on day five I would definitely buy the pink. That’s not to say that you can’t flash for five solid days before getting a static smiley face because it has happened to me and several other girls that have written to me. But it definitely makes it a lot more stressful. If you are able to buy the basal body thermometer that has the two digits after the decimal point that would be ideal. If you have a Target near you they sell them right next to the ovulation predictor kits. Otherwise any pharmacy should have one.If the test is correct and you are just still having a rise in your estrogen, which is what the flashing face is detecting, then you most likely have not ovulated yet. You should technically ovulate after your surge has been detected and you’ll probably ovulate anywhere from approximately 12 to 48 hours. If you start taking your temperature now you can see what it’s doing before ovulation to see what it will look like when it rises after ovulation. Pre-mom has an excellent video on how to take your temperature and chart it. And that is my number 1 Recommended way of proving that you ovulated so long as you’re not sick during that time with a fever from the flu or something like that. But either way try not to worry because you’re probably very close to a static smiley face. I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet but one of my ovulation videos from this year, it was either January or February, I did an ovulation video where it flashed for five days and I bought a pink holder and it was positive while the purple continued to flash with the same urine. So if you’re interested you can watch that video and maybe that will help you also. Wow this is very interesting keep me updated on what happens I’m very curious to know how this goes for you but stay encouraged and don’t sweat, as long as you are “ doing the deed” every other day you should be covered. 🤞🙏🥰❤️

Hi Ashlie, I really rather prefer the pink test. For one the price is better because it’s about five dollars cheaper than the purple. The pink test to me is nice because it’s either positive or negative. Definitely read all of the paperwork very carefully. There is a suggested cycle start day according to the length of your cycle which is a great starting point. And that’s in the paperwork. My favorite time to test is at 1 PM because I usually haven’t had any liquids from like 10 AM until 1 which is a good three hour hold with urine that isn’t watered down from a bunch of fluid intake. Then once you have been testing at that same time every day and you see that the line is getting darker on the left which is the test line, I would say to start testing two or even three times a day to make sure you catch the very start of your surge. And the reason for that is to not miss your surge because not everyone is a 24 to 36 hour surge. Some girls have a really quick surge of only 12 hours sometimes and so if you’re only testing every 24 hours you could miss it completely and think that you’re right there on the edge of your surge but are just not getting it which is not true. I think I have read that doctors suggest every 12 hours but when it’s dark at 1 o’clock I’ll test again at 8 pm and then again the next day at like 9 or 10 am and then again at 1 pm and then 8pm until I get the positive smiley face. Yes it could be that your urine was diluted to where it caused your strips not to be as dark as they could have been. The concentration of the urine for the lh tests matter more than the digital. That’s why I like the digital. Since you got a smiley face from the digital you can be sure it’s a surge. I hope this helps! Good luck!🤞😁
That’s right. Sometimes you miss the rise in estrogen and you go straight from empty circle to static smiley face. It doesn’t mean the test was faulty, but your body just skipped past that feature! Or maybe it would have been caught with more frequent testing more than once a day. The smiley face is more of a fun feature in my opinion, to see the rise in estrogen. It’s a nice head up but can also become extremely stressful if you go past three days of flashing. I really recommend just sticking with the pink, surge/ no surge. The pink was my favorite. 😊♥️

I called clearblue because I did this same test with the advanced digital and regular digital. They said the pink ovulation test does not measure estrogen like this advanced so that’s why the flashing
Yes that is right, the pink only has a negative or positive. The pink will most of the time be an empty circle while the purple one flashes. But if you are having your surge, both should have positive smiley faces. I have taken many of these over the years and just a few cycles ago I had a flashing smiley face with the purple and a smiley face positive with the pink using the same urine. So I just like to stick with the pink!☺️

Hi! If you missed seeing the flashing smiley face it’s ok! You’re estrogen may have gone up to fast for you to catch with the test. As long as you get the solid smiley that’s all that really matters 😄 Plus the purple test locks it up when you get the positive for 48 hours so it prevents any more tests until it clears. That’s why I like to keep the pink one and continue to test just for my own curiosity to see how long my surge lasts. I hope this helps! Good luck!
Hi Andrea, I know this post been more than a year. But I have a question regarding the pink one (2 most fertile days) I have tested yesterday evening, and I got a solid smiley face. But when I pulled out the stripe, the line looked lighter than the control line. I tested again this morning, and it was just a blank circle. What does that mean?
Well, it sounds like you caught the very tail end of your surge when you saw the smiley face. And with the lines on the test stick for the digital, it’s nice to see the progression of the test line but they don’t have to match for the test to have a positive smiley face. I’ve had many times where the line was lighter but the test still showed a smiley face and was positive. It’s more about waiting for the face to show up. So it looks like you caught the end of your surge before you ovulated. As long as you got the sperm up there you should have a chance of pregnancy. You can also get a basal body thermometer and check your temperature every morning before you get out of bed, although I’ve tested that whole thing and even getting out of bed and going to the bathroom and doing it in the bathroom so I don’t wake up my husband it didn’t really change the consistency of my temperature in the morning for being accurate. So if you do a basal body temperature every morning, you can confirm your ovulation as every morning it should get higher and higher. Premom has a really good basal body temperature video that you can watch if you don’t know much about it or how to do it. I hope this helps! Good luck!♥️
I think at the time of this video I was getting a peak smiley face around cycle day 10 and ovulating by cycle day 11. Cycle length varies depending on what day you ovulate. From ovulation it’s good to have a 12 to 14 day luteal phase before you start your period again. ☺️
Me and my girlfriend are trying for our first baby! I'm 22 this year and my girlfriend is one year younger, we've been waiting years before trying to make a baby but now we feel like it's time. Hi! I meant that I skip the flashing smiley face most of the time. The flashing smiley face is just if you are using the purple and you happen to take the test at the time your estrogen level rises. Sometimes it spikes quickly and even though you may be testing more than once a day you may miss the flashing smiley and just go straight to solid smiley which is your peak surge. Sometimes it’s better and easier just to use the pink holder. That way you don’t stress out if you get a flashing smiley face for more than the two days it advertises. Some flash for 5 days and I have done that as well and it is not fun. Anyway I was just saying that as many times as I would bypass the flashing smiley, buying the purple was not really worth it for me. I would stick with the pink. I hope this helps. But once you get your peak(smiley face), you should definitely bd that day and the following day which hopefully would most likely be ovulation day.😊

Hi Chineye! So it sounds like you dipped the stick separately outside of the holder? The stick needs to be inserted into the holder first and then dipped into your urine for 15 seconds. I’ve got mixed up with test kits! Help! The dark purple test kit pack is for the basic test right??? The pink and white are for the advanced test kit? Is that right? I’m getting negative tests and I don’t know if I’m using the wrong test sticks 😭 Please help! I’ve just found out I have an ovarian cyst and it’s messing with my cycle. So upset and scared it’s going to stop me conceiving 😔
Hi Carrie everything will be fine! The more advanced one is the purple test. When your LH hormone is low in the urine then it will be an empty circle just like the pink test. But when your estrogen starts to rise then the test will start to flash and the directions in that test kit are to do first morning urine in the beginning to catch this rise in hormonal change. But if you’d rather just wait till around 1 or 2 PM or even 5 PM to 8 PM to do your testing that’s perfectly fine too. You may skip flashing all together and you might end up going straight to a static smiley face which is just fine because that’s what you want! You want a static smiley face to show you that you are having your peak LH surge. Sometimes the flashing smiley face adds too much drama and stress if it flashes for more than three or four days when it’s typically only supposed to flash for maybe one or two days. On the box it advertises two days for flashing. I generally save the Purple test for fun but do my serious testing with the pink test only. So it’ll be either empty circle or static smiley face. And it’s so easy to tell if things are picking up because when you eject the test stick straight out of the holder the line on the left is the test line and that line should be getting darker and darker every time you test. Just read the directions thoroughly to know which day you should start testing and you can start once a day at the same time every day my time is at 1 PM that I like to test and just make sure your urine is not overly diluted but rather well concentrated. And as far as the cyst I don’t know much about them but they don’t worry me. I was told a long long time ago in one of my exams that I had a cyst on my ovary and it was never presented as an issue but rather that it would go away on its own-no big deal. Ask your OB what your cyst is about and if this is an issue and if it will go away and if it will cause issues with ovulating properly. There are a lot of good videos as well from doctors and fertility experts on balancing your hormones for healthy normal cycles for periods, ovulation, and luteal phase. Not only a well-balanced diet but moderate good exercise will balance your hormones as well. I hope this helps and please don’t panic because it really sounds like this is an easy fix but again ask your doctor and get as much knowledge as you can because knowledge gives you the upper hand. I tested again the second day but with the different one i have two of clear blue test So the other one gave me flashing smiley face . And the one i tested two days ago was smily face . Are you testing with both kinds? The purple and the pink? Honestly I would recommend sticking with the pink test. But it sounds like you caught a surge when you got that smiley face two days ago. If the purple started flashing today it probably caught the decline of your hormones as you probably ovulated yesterday or today. That purple might continue to flash all week if you don’t stop using it to let it clear itself. Also at around 5 dpo the purple could start to flash again with a secondary estrogen rise that is common during that time. Or it could be that your body failed to ovulate and surged a second time to try again. If you start flashing after 5 dpo you could also be pregnant since the embryo gets to the uterus around 5 dpo and begins to implant. A good way to test for ovulation is to take your basal body temperature with a bbt thermometer every morning from here on out to watch your temperature rise to prove you are producing progesterone, which causes the temperature rise. Premom has a great video on bbt. Or have a blood test done to check progesterone levels at around 7 dpo or your best guess of when you think you’re 7 dpo. Is it correct as there was no high fertility symbol displayed. And I was following my periods cycle and app was showing my ovulation date falls after 4 days from today. Yes you can go straight to peak like what your describing. That’s why sometimes it’s better to avoid the purple and just use the pink holder because sometimes you don’t always get a flashing smiley face and you just go straight to Peak surge with a static face. So now you will hopefully ovulate in the next 12 hours or to even as long as 48 hours. I would say most do around the 24 to 36 hour mark. So get plenty of sperm up there now. 😊I hope this helps and that this is your bfp cycle!🙏🤞♥️

That’s ok. The average is to flash for two days before getting your static smiley face. So by tomorrow hopefully you will have your static smiley which is your positive lh surge. Sometimes we get stuck on a flashing face for 5 to 6 days. It will flash forever if you don’t get the peak. Hopefully tomorrow you will get your peak! 🤞♥️
Well I could be totally wrong, but it kind of sounds like you may have failed to ovulate and your body is trying for a second surge? If you had ovulated and the egg came out of your ovary your estrogen drops and the progesterone starts to take over. That flashing smiley face is the signal to let us know that the estrogen is on the rise although some people never get a flashing smiley face and their estrogen just shoots up and they go straight to LH surge with a static smiley face with those purple holders. I had a second surge last year when I was using the Pink Holder and I got a positive smiley face one day and then by the next day it was an empty circle again and so I thought I had ovulated and that was that. Then two days later got a lot of sharp pain in my ovaries again and when I tested again with the pink holder got another smiley face. If you have a doctor you like that you are going to I would ask them what they think and maybe some testing should be done to see if you’re struggling to ovulate? Anyway I’m no expert of course but just from my own experiences and what I’ve heard other women go through that’s just kind of what it sounds like. However I will say if you are past five and 6DPO, if you test with a purple holder and your embryo is starting to embed into your uterus and make hCG, if it’s high enough to be detectable the purple holder will start to flash And if it’s a successful pregnancy eventually with enough hCG you would go to a static smiley face because if you’re pregnant it would turn positive as well. I am just going off birth control (I have been using progestetone suppositories) This last cycle was my first in 4 years (I had a baby 3 yrs ago) So I think my body is re-setting. I too get “middle-pain” and experienced it today With the flashing smiley face (which is why I tested again even though I “peaked” 3 days ago), I also had a significant amount of EWCM today so this very well could have been attempt two. We are hoping to conceive in Fall so I better use a back-up😄!

Literally every single box I buy, the tester doesn’t work. Is there anyway to get the tester to read the results? I won’t get a blinking tester on the screen, it’ll just be a still tester on the screen then nothing happens. It is so frustrating!! I am spending all this money and I never know if I’m ovulating!!
I am so sorry! How are you taking the test? You are inserting the stick into the holder first before you dip it in your urine, correct? Just make sure you insert the stick arrow, to arrow all the way in the holder until it clicks into place, and then take the cap off, or sometimes take the cap off first, so that the test stick doesn’t yank out of the holder when you’re taking the cap off. And then once the test stick is securely in place in the holder, dip the wick into your urine for 15 seconds and then put the cap back on and it should work. Let me know what happens!
I got my non flashing smiley face on day 15. on day 14 I test and it was just circle and on day 15 it comes non flashing and now I test on my day 19 and it come flashing smiley face I don't know what's going on please I need help. Can somebody help me ?
Hi! You are the second one that has told me that they got a static smiley face and then the following day or the two days after it clears, it went flashing again. That is so strange to me and I honestly have a no idea how it can do this when it should go back to an empty circle after you get your positive. Either way, The important thing is that you got your static smiley face and this purple holder should’ve locked it in for 48 hours straight. You should definitely ask your doctor but my best guess is that you may have failed to ovulate and your body is trying to do it again. This happened to me last year but I was using the pink holder and not the flashing smiley face purple holder. I had gotten a positive Surge and then the following day it went back to an empty circle and I thought that was it. Then the following day or was it two days later, I had another positive smiley face which to me meant that I tried to ovulate and failed and my body surged again and I ovulated on that second surge.So no matter what’s happening I would go ahead and do your babymaking now assuming that you are going to ovulate soon. I hope it all works out!!
Hi yes the pink clear blue test will have an empty circle if it has not detected your surge yet and a static smiley face when it does detect your Surge. Depending on how long your cycle is in the instruction paperwork there’s a chart that has suggestions for when to start testing based on your cycle length. The purple test will have a Flashing smiley face when it detects a rise in your estrogen which leads to your LH surge which then would go from flashing to a static smiley face. I don’t think either one is better than the other it just depends on your own personal preference and just because you buy the purple one doesn’t guarantee you will ever see a flashing smiley face. So yeah definitely review the paperwork it comes with and also if you want more information on the purple you can go to clearblue.com and they have a lot of statistics about how long women had a flashing smiley face for and things like that which is very interesting! I hope this helps a little bit and try to have a good time with it because it is fun, especially when you get that smiling face!
Yes it sounds like you may have caught the very end of your surge with the second test. I’ve had it happen both ways. The second test may need to record your baseline before giving you a positive if you were to Use that same holder again the next time you have to use the restroom a couple hours later. I have had it done both ways wear my pink test was a positive faceAnd with the same urine I did a purple holder that had reset itself to the beginning and it still came up a static smiley face with that same urine. It’s in a couple ovulation test videos after this one If you want to see those. I also showed the same purple holder showing up as an empty circle with urine that was positive from a pink holder in another video showing that it did want a baseline after it had been reset. The lines on your second holder test will show if they were somewhat the same intensity as your positive test but it kind of sounds like your surge might be over and so as long as you’ve been trying between now and then you should get sperm to your egg in time if you have already ovulated because It depends on the egg and person, but the egg can live up to 24 hours and sometimes as little as 10 hours so as long as you’ve been doing it you should have a chance of getting pregnant because you got a positive surge. Hopefully that means you ovulated as well because a positive Surge doesn’t always guarantee an ovulation. @@shyickavincent9193 no. The purple is the advanced test that locks in the smiley face once your lh goes above 40 miu which means you are having your surge. From that point on you are expected to ovulate sometime in the next 12 to 48 hours. That’s why they freeze it for 48 hours after you get that positive. These 48 hours is when you need to get the sperm in there. 😊♥️
You do? That's great! Have you had any children from the donor yet in the past? From my own experiences, I would say If you are using one vial of ici sperm, inseminate within a couple hours of getting that solid smiley. I never knew about capacitation until the last couple months. The ici sperm are not washed, as you know, and that means they need to go through capacitation in your reproductive tract that prepares them for fertilization. I have read this takes 5 to 7 hours. I used to try and inseminate as close to my ovulation as possible and did get pregnant but I was using iui, which I read that because iui is washed, capacitation has already been initiated so it wont take as long. So if you only have on vial I would do it after you see that solid smiley. If you have two vials, inseminate with the second vial 12 hours after the first vial. I'm excited to meet you! Ok just a question but why inseminate when flashing? Solid face mean peak fertility is what ur waiting for. I would inseminate when I see the solid face because you would ovulate within 12-36 hours following the solid face.

If you’re using the digital ovulation predictor test then once you get that static smiley face that does not flash if you’re using the purple holder or if you just get the smiley face if using the pink holder test, either way the solid smiley face for either test means that you should go ahead and get together with your husband. Then I would do it again in the next 12 to 24 hours after that. The line on the right is the control line and the line on the left is the test line and even though the digital’s do not have to match to be positive it’s fun to see the line on the left get darker and darker as you test day after day. But yeah once you get your solid smiley face I would go ahead and start trying! I hope this helps!
Yes you don’t need to see egg white cm to ovulate, however if you do not have a good amount it may make it difficult for the sperm to travel. You could get a sperm friendly lubricant like preseed or something else as some have said preseed was bad but I have used it before and got pregnant that cycle.

So if this helps, my period started on 11th-17th October. I got a flashing smiley on the 24th & 25th and a static smiley on the 26th. According to my app, my cycle length is about 32 days ❤️

As far as I know, they don’t sell the tests sticks separately. Even though the holder is still good for several more months, if you use up all the test sticks, you have to buy another kit. I wish they sold them separately!
Usually about two days as it flashes when it detects your estrogen rising as the follicle gets bigger and closer to ovulation. But don’t worry if it flashes for 4 to 5 days. Anything beyond that 5 and there’s a chance you’re having a hard time surging and ovulation may not happen.
Hi! The line on the left is the test line and the right is the control line. The digital test can be positive by going from empty circle to a smiley face in the result window without needing the lines to match. So if you get a smiley face and eject the test strip from the holder, the test line on the left may be a little lighter than the control line which doesn’t matter. But eventually if you test a couple more times in the next day they will most likely match or the test line can get darker than the control line. That’s why I like the digital. The face is what matters and you don’t have to worry about line color intensity. It’s just fun to observe😁
I got smily face two day ago both purple and pink and yesterday also got smily face on pink and today i got empty on pink what does that mean ?still i have chanse today?
That means that your surge is over and you must have ovulated sometime yesterday. So hopefully you got the sperm in there by yesterday. It means that the test had an error. Either the test stick was bad or something wrong with the holder. Take the test stick out and wait until the book disappears from the window and then put in a new stick and make sure you put it in all the way until it clicks into place. Hopefully you won’t have any more errors. 🤞
Start testing the day after your period ends. That way you can get a sense of what’s happening with your hormones after your period is over and watch the line start to get darker and darker or if you’re using the digital the lines will get dark darker also and then eventually hopefully a solid smiley. If you have the LH strips like easy at home, you could use those inexpensively and watch the lines, get darker, and once they start getting darker and darker, you could include the digital at that point. It sounds like your surge is over. If you haven’t already I would go ahead and have intercourse or inseminate or however you are trying to get pregnant. It could be that you caught it at the tail end of your surge if you hadn’t tested before that afternoon smiley face test. And some women have really quick surges too so yours might be a little shorter than you thought it was going to be if this is the first time testing and you’re getting to know your ovulation pattern. Also it could be that there was a failure and you might get another positive again tomorrow. That happened to me once where I got a positive ovulation test with the pink holder and then it was negative several hours later and then it picked back up again and was positive again the next day. No definitely try now. Your egg can still be fertilized 24 hours after Ovulation. I got pregnant once 14 hours past ovulation. It just means your surge is over and at the end somewhere you ovulated, hopefully. Sometimes a surge doesn’t end with ovulation but for the most part it will. 🥰❤️

I’m so sorry this has been difficult for you. If you don’t have one, I would definitely get a good Obgyn and get some basic testing done just to make sure your wife has a healthy follicular phase, is ovulating, and has a healthy and good length of a luteal phase. She can also have her hormones checked just to make sure that everything is balanced and everything but yes if you’ve been trying for a while, I would definitely reach out to a doctor for their help so that you don’t lose too much more time if you’ve been trying for a while. Good luck I hope everything works out for you! If you haven’t tried these digital tests you should. They come with very detailed instructions about how and when to test. I will always use them!😊

But I would say just from my experience, I would advise to get sperm up there on the day you see your solid smiley face, and then the next morning which nine times out of ten would be ovulation day. Hi Angel. I think I had it flash one time for that long as well. If you don’t get a solid smiley face by tomorrow or the next day which would make it seven days of flashing, I would stop testing with the purple holder and wait two days for the test to clear and test again after that. It could be that it’s not catching your surge but did catch the rise in your estrogen and it might flash forever until you quit using it for a couple days to have it reset itself. Is the line on the left getting dark? What does the line on the left look like? If it’s not getting any darker you might be having trouble reaching your peak. If you haven’t already I would make an appointment with an OB or even a fertility specialist if you’ve been trying for a long time to get tested to make sure you are ovulating normally and that there isn’t some thing else going on that’s preventing you from Getting to your surge and releasing your eggs.Please let me know what happens in the next day or two and like I said if it’s flashing tomorrow and the next day making it seven days of flashing, I would stop using the test for two days and then try again and see what happens. @@Angel-xc2vh It sounds like you had your surge last cycle . So I am not sure what to make of your 5 days of flashing. It just could be that you’re not getting a high enough level for this cycle. If you don’t get pregnant this cycle and this week long flashing happens again next cycle , I would get tested. Honestly I would recommend getting tested anyway so that you don’t spend months and even years trying if there is something going on that is interfering with your ovulation. Hi I’m sorry to hear that it’s been flashing for eight days now? Have you tested your LH surge before this cycle? Is this the first time you’re using this test? It’s been so long but I actually think this happened to me earlier this year, it’s been a while but this has happened to other girls as well where it flashes for like eight days and they never get the static smiley face. One reason could be that although the test detected a rise in your estrogen, you’re not getting to a high enough LH level for the test to detect a peak Surge. The test in the paperwork says that it reads a peek at 40 miu. I have also read that some women still have a peak surge but it is not high enough for it to register on this test and so even though the test never says you’re positive, you still had your peak and may have ovulated anyway. Otherwise if you’re failing to have an LH surge and failing to ovulate the test will continue to blink until you stop using it for a few days at which point it will reset itself. It’ll keep on blinking until you get a high enough LH for the static smiley face. That’s why I haven’t really wanted to use it lately and prefer the pink holder because there’s no flashing smiley face to get hopeful on and then have some thing like this happen. And if you have both holders you can at least test both to have back up if you don’t think one of the holders is right. I hope this makes sense and I hope you have a good doctor that you trust in case there is an ovulation issue. Good luck I hope by now you have gotten your static smiley face! I know it is strange and I’m not sure why they don’t match when it’s positive but with the digital test it’s more or less interesting to watch the line get darker but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the test is Negative when the lines don’t match. I’ve had that happen many times and then I would test again and again later on and it could be that my urine was more concentrated later when the lines did become stronger and matched more. And especially for the strips like easy at home your water intake and your urine concentration really does make a difference as far as the lines matching and everything which makes consistency of testing really important. That’s why I like the digital because I don’t have to worry too much about how much water I drink so many hours ago to know that I have a positive Surge.
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to watch! Yes I have a 20 month old girl. I got pregnant with her after turning 41. I made a very long video all about it but basically after my 4th or 5th attempt at ivf with my husband, he ended up going completely sterile. That's when I scoured RUclips and discovered a cryobank that actually will send the sperm to your house for at home insemination. My husband going sterile in a way made using a donor "ok" at that point. Something I never thought I would ever do in my life. I got pregnant with my daughter on the first try. Now 2 years later, my eggs are even older and the chances of chromosomal abnormalities are even higher. I take several supplements to counter act this and just hope that I can have just one more.
@@yassmine9193 I think seven days of a flashing smiley face is a little long especially if it never becomes a solid smiley face. I think the OPK kit expects you to flash for about two days before the static face. If you haven’t already I would make an appointment with your obstetrician and let them know what’s going on so that they can check your hormones through blood tests. The usual of what we read says we’re fertile up to five days before we ovulate and that goes along with what we read about the sperm living for three to five days and I have read as long as seven days under the best circumstances. so yeah I would definitely not wait if you’re not getting a positive surge and make an appointment with your doctor. You will always have two lines the one on the right is the control line and the one on the left is the test line. The test line will get darker and darker as you get closer and closer to your LH surge. When the left line matches the control line you are most likely having the start of your surge or if the test line on the left is darker than the line on the right it indicates that you are having your surge. The lines on the Digital test don’t have to match for theSmiley face to appear and for you to show that you are having your surge. That’s why I like the digital because there’s no guesswork, it’s either a positive with a smiley face or it’s an empty circle and you don’t have to try to figure out if the lines truly match or not. 😁

The blinking smiley face or “flashing” smiley face Is when the purple clear blue digital detects a rise in estrogen getting closer to the positive LH surge which would then be the steady solid smiley face. If you have unlimited sperm supply and get to baby dance as they call it, then yes I would do it the day you get that smiley face and then I would do it the following morning hoping that that is the actual ovulation day.😊♥️
I went from a plain cycle yesterday to just a solid non flashing happy face today... And I'm not impressed by it lol. Im like wtf?? Did I not even have a high fertility mark and just go straight to my peak? Its confusing qnd discouraging when our tests do this!!
Haha! No actually be glad! The Flashing is just that five extra dollars you pay to see your estrogen rise! Going straight to static smiley is great if you don’t need the high fertility warning like I seem to now that my cycle is not a predictable as it used to be. Omg I’m so glad I saw your comment cus I was put on clomid and started testing on CD 12 in the morning , which was yesterday and I got the circle ⭕️ Tested again next day and I got the static smiley face , didn’t get any flashy face and also confused 🤷🏽♀️... I’m praying it’s accurate
Hi! Do you mean when the smiley face stays on the purple holder? The purple locks for 48 hours and the smiley face shows the entire two days, then it clears and starts the test over again if you need it for the next cycle. I think they did that as a reminder by seeing that static smiley face that you are the most fertile and can ovulate sometime during that 48 hour window as long as the face remains in the window. Plus once you get a positive surge there really isn’t a need to test anymore unless you are curious to see how long your surge lasts, which I have done many times in the past. That can be done with the pink test. I hope this made sense!😄
@@taxilu6677 yes so you may have ovulated in between Friday night and Sunday night. So hopefully you tried during that time. I’m lucky enough to get sharp pain in the ovary that I ovulate from which is a nice assurance, but not every one gets it and that makes it hard to know if and when they ovulated. It sounds like you surged and ovulated. I hope you are successful in getting a positive pregnancy test soon!! I would love to know what happens!
Today is my 5th day of flashing smiley face...and it's the 22nd day of my cycle...don't know what to do......started testing on the 12th day but still can't get peak. It looks like I didn't ovluate this month? So confusing 😹😹😹
How long are your cycles usually? I think I heard of someone ovulating on day 22 when they had a 35 day cycle. If you haven’t already you should go to clear blue.com because they have a lot more information than the general information that comes in the directions with the test. One reminder was that the digital, much like a pregnancy test, is not 100% accurate and if you surge, but it doesn’t reach the 40 that it detects, it may not pick up your surge. Thank you I'm glad it was helpful! It really just depends on what you want. Both tests are great. If you want to save the five dollar difference you can buy the pink test. The test line will be getting darker as you get closer to your surge. The purple is great if you want that extra warning, and the flashing smiley face will let you know that your estrogen is rising. But there is no guarantee that you will get a flashing smiley. I just used my purple test and went from an empty circle to a static smiley and skipped the flash altogether. In this case, the pink would have been the way to go and save that five dollars. So it's just a personal preference. I hope this helps! Good luck!
There will always be two lines but if the line on the left is getting darker and darker that means you’re getting closer and closer to your surge and if the empty circle the next time you test is a smiley face that means you’re having a positive peak surge.😁
I’m still waiting for a BFP! Month 4 of trying for baba 2 iv only ever had one chemical pregnancy when I was about 19/20 I had positive tests then started bleeding heavily so I went to AnE(your ER) and there was never a baby they said I wanted it that bad my body mimicked the HCG hormone! A few years later at 23 I’m January 2019 I found out I was pregnant and had a missed miscarriage I found out at what should of been 10 weeks I was measuring 6weeks sac and yolk so they thought I could of got my days wrong so I had to go back again and nothing had happened in a week I was then refers to the hospital they did a scan then they had to wait a week as it’s there policy after 4 weeks of scans I was supposed to have a DNC the night before I started bleeding very bad! I had to sit on the toilet as it was just coming out like a tap! I filled up 2 maxi pads in 10 mins and started feeling faint and dizzy so the ambulance came I started passing very big clots biggest ones iv ever seen about to size of my hand! They sent me for a scan and the sac and yolk were still there they then noticed I was close to haemorrhaging and ended up having a emergency DNC after that I found out I was pregnant with my boy 2 months later who is now 9m old! Fingers crossed for you rainbow 🌈 I hope for baby 2 soon❤️ I’m on ovulation day today but iv run out of ovulation tests so we’ve been baby dancing every other day for the past few days! Hopping for a BFP in 9-12days x

Are you saying that you got your peak? If you took a test, whatever test you are choosing to use, if you got your peak, then it should go back to low by the next day or two when your surge is over, your hormones will drop back down again and the lines will get lighter again. 🙂
I’ve used this test multiple times, has received all forms of smiley and empty faces, but has also received dark blue lines on my test stick every time. What do the dark blue lines mean? I’ve been testing for about 2 months .
Hi Asia thank you for messaging me. Well the two lines are to show that you have LH present but that is very low if the line on the left is light. The test line is the line that is closest to where you dip it in your urine. That’s the way it is on pregnancy tests as well. And the line on the right is the control line which should always be the same dark blue color for these tests. When you’re getting closer to your surge the test line will start to get noticeably darker but because it’s digital, the lines do not have to match necessarily for it to be a positive surge. You can get a smiley face positive and have dark lines that are practically matching. So the lines are just showing the progression but since it’s digital you want to focus on the result that comes up in the digital window but you can always know that you’re getting closer by looking at the lines. Does that make any sense? Sometimes it’s good to have another kind of test as a back up. I hope this helps!😊

Yes you can. If you go to clear blue.com it says in there that the purple holder test with the flashing smiley face is recommended to take first morning urine to detect the rise in estrogen giving you that flashing smiley face. Otherwise most ovulation predictor kits recommend testing in the afternoon and early evening to pick up the LH Hormone. In the directions it tells you when you should start testing according to your cycle length and you just do testing starting at once a day until you get closer to ovulation when the lines start getting darker and then you can start testing two or three times a day to make sure you catch the start of your surge.I hope this helps!

@@jniahcorry3278 You’re welcome! A clinic will tell you that spotting doesn’t count and that it’s the day that you have full flow is day one of your period. But honestly the day I see brown or pink or anything is the day I call it day one of my cycle and it has always been true for me. So no matter what time of day I see it, if I have not yet gone to bed and it’s nine or 10 o’clock at night that I see brown pink or red, I call that day one.
@@jniahcorry3278 Even though you’re five days away I would absolutely start testing now. My favorite time of day when I get my best results are usually at 1 o’clock in the afternoon after about a three hour hold with not a lot of liquids. I also get good results at seven or 8 o’clock at night after a three or four hour hold with no liquids. And even though it comes up an empty circle when you eject the test you will see that the line on the left is getting darker and darker and darker and when it’s starting to get dark like that I like to test two or three times a day because I have gotten a smiley face sometimes as late as 8 PM or even 11 PM with the pink holder. And a couple cycles ago, with the pink holder I got a smiley face first thing in the morning because my surge had started while I was sleeping. So for the sake of not wasting these expensive test sticks, you can start now once a day and then do twice a day when you’re getting closer. And then if you have a fertile partner with you and don’t have to do IUI or donor sperm like I do, I would try for the baby when you see the positive smiley face And then do it again 12 hours later.
So its my first time using this test after having two kids, when i tested i got the circle but when i pulled the strip it had two lines whats that supposed to mean im so confused
Hi Soso I’m sorry I never saw this post! I hope you were able to get some answers since it looks like this is about three weeks old. But if you didn’t, the test the first time you use it will calibrate to your hormone levels and will most likely always be an empty circle. However with the pink holder test I have gotten a static smiley face on the first time using it right out of the box before. But anyway if you’re using the purple holder it will mostLikely start out as an empty circle and then if your hormone levels are rising in your estrogen is going up you may get the flashing smiley face before you get the static smiley face. But as far as the two lines when you pull the test stick out the line on the left is the test line and the line on the right is the control line. You will always have two lines but the line on the left can be very light which means low and eventually as you get closer and closer to your LH surge that line on the left will get darker and darker. So when you see that you’ll know that you’re getting closer and closer to a face as you test every day. But those lines do not have to match on this digital test in order for the test to pick up your LH surge and give you a positive result. I took 2 this week one had a flashing smiling face so I didn't believe it so I used a new pack and tested same day and got a zero so I'm so confused on these. My CM today is white and having Tender breast when I wipe so I don't know what's going on.
Hi Mabel! Since you opened up a brand new pack and it was another purple holder I’m assuming, it should be an empty circle no matter what because it supposedly needs to calibrate to your hormone levels since it’s the first time using that particular holder of the new pack. So the next time you go to the bathroom and collect a sample if you use it again it should start flashing. Or maybe by the next time you collect a sample and dip it again with a new test stick in that holder it may even jump straight to a static smiley face and skip flashing all together. When you pull the test stick out you’ll see that the line should be getting darker on the left side which is the test line. That’ll also help you know that you’re getting closer and closer and that you should be getting a static smiley face soon. I hope this helps and good luck!

Yes that has happened to me before a few times. Which test are you using? Sometimes when lines are almost matching on the digitals, the pink will pick up the surge first and be a positive when the purple comes up negative even though they should both be positive at the same time. You can also test again tonight because I have had surges start in the evening as well when earlier that afternoon it was negative. I’m sure it’ll be positive the next time you test from the way it sounds!🤗

So your purple is positive with a solid smiley face but your pink test is an empty circle? Was it with the same urine? If you tested again later with the pink it could be that you caught your surge with the purple but it’s over now. As long as you have been trying during this time you should be good. And yes you can use the purple sticks with the pink holder and vice versa. I do it all the time and the results are the same as if using the matching sticks. Good luck I hope all goes well!! 🙏🤞💕

@@middleeasternvibes6950 if you want to use both holders to make sure that they’re both agreeing with each other then you should use the same urine with each holder even though it is a little expensive, but if you want to use both holders like I did, you certainly can. And if anything, just to compare and see what happens with each test but what I was saying was if your purple holder locked in a smiley face because it detected a surge and is now locked in for 48 hours and then several hours later you tested with the pink and it came up negative it might be that your surge is over already and that maybe you tested at the last Part of your surge with the purple holder and that’s why you managed to get a positive with it. That’s just what it sounds like I’m not saying that’s what happened only you know what’s going on really so I wouldn’t be too worried about the pink being negative since you got the positive with the purple, but I highly recommend taking your temperature every morning with a basal body temperature thermometer to also monitor your temperature as it gets very low before ovulation and then rises above your normal every day temperature after ovulation and that helps prove ovulation also. Do you do that already or do you know much about it? There are a lot of good videos on charting your basal body temperature. pre-mom has a good video teaching how to do it correctly. I love taking my basal body temperature because you really get a heads up for what’s going on and I can see that my ovulation is getting closer when my temperature gets really low, and then after ovulation, it gradually rises, higher and higher above my normal temperature.😁

I think a couple days is ok as long as it doesn’t keep flashing for a week. I had it flash once for 5 days before it finally turned positive. Good luck!

My eggs are most likely poorer quality now that I am older, so it will take some trying until a normal egg finally comes through. I'm happy for you that you got a smiley face on your ovulation test! It's because the digital ovulation tests detect estrogen rise untill lh surge, it flashes when estrogen is high
I have used this a couple of times and I keep getting flashing smiley until I run out. I have got a 20 pack this time around am hoping it work and hoping to get pregnant this month 🤞
Yes getting nothing but the flashing smiley face is a little discouraging for sure. Hopefully with the extra tests you will see a surge next time. If anything pay close attention to your cm for your guide as well. I hope you get pregnant soon! Good luck!

@@selmahaitewa19 I read on the clear blue website that they say to test after your longest sleep, which is interesting because not everyone is first waking up in the morning. So I would test it that way. Then when it starts to flash, divide your awake time by two and test at those intervals. I know I say my favorite time is 1, but next time I will do first morning with the purple holder and see how it all turns out😀 I hope this helps and you see your peak!
I got false positives two cycles out of the two that I used them for with Clearblue advanced digital. It was confirmed both times that I did not even have any dominant follicles yet at the time. The line tests are much more accurate in my opinion.
The tests will be positive if your lh hormone reaches 40 or above, but that does not guarantee that you have a dominant follicle that is ready to ovulate and can fail to have an ovulation. The best way to confirm is progesterone testing at 7 days after you think you have or taking your bbt every morning to see the change in temperature to confirm ovulation. If you have pcos you can talk to your doctor about what you can do. Good luck!😊

@@tubonimiwaquong3233 Yes unfortunately this is where the flashing smiley face Goes from fun too stressful. Don’t worry flashing for three days is totally OK but if you’re still flashing on day five I would definitely buy the pink. That’s not to say that you can’t flash for five solid days before getting a static smiley face because it has happened to me and several other girls that have written to me. But it definitely makes it a lot more stressful. If you are able to buy the basal body thermometer that has the two digits after the decimal point that would be ideal. If you have a Target near you they sell them right next to the ovulation predictor kits. Otherwise any pharmacy should have one.If the test is correct and you are just still having a rise in your estrogen, which is what the flashing face is detecting, then you most likely have not ovulated yet. You should technically ovulate after your surge has been detected and you’ll probably ovulate anywhere from approximately 12 to 48 hours. If you start taking your temperature now you can see what it’s doing before ovulation to see what it will look like when it rises after ovulation. Pre-mom has an excellent video on how to take your temperature and chart it. And that is my number 1 Recommended way of proving that you ovulated so long as you’re not sick during that time with a fever from the flu or something like that. But either way try not to worry because you’re probably very close to a static smiley face. I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet but one of my ovulation videos from this year, it was either January or February, I did an ovulation video where it flashed for five days and I bought a pink holder and it was positive while the purple continued to flash with the same urine. So if you’re interested you can watch that video and maybe that will help you also. Wow this is very interesting keep me updated on what happens I’m very curious to know how this goes for you but stay encouraged and don’t sweat, as long as you are “ doing the deed” every other day you should be covered. 🤞🙏🥰❤️

Hi Ashlie, I really rather prefer the pink test. For one the price is better because it’s about five dollars cheaper than the purple. The pink test to me is nice because it’s either positive or negative. Definitely read all of the paperwork very carefully. There is a suggested cycle start day according to the length of your cycle which is a great starting point. And that’s in the paperwork. My favorite time to test is at 1 PM because I usually haven’t had any liquids from like 10 AM until 1 which is a good three hour hold with urine that isn’t watered down from a bunch of fluid intake. Then once you have been testing at that same time every day and you see that the line is getting darker on the left which is the test line, I would say to start testing two or even three times a day to make sure you catch the very start of your surge. And the reason for that is to not miss your surge because not everyone is a 24 to 36 hour surge. Some girls have a really quick surge of only 12 hours sometimes and so if you’re only testing every 24 hours you could miss it completely and think that you’re right there on the edge of your surge but are just not getting it which is not true. I think I have read that doctors suggest every 12 hours but when it’s dark at 1 o’clock I’ll test again at 8 pm and then again the next day at like 9 or 10 am and then again at 1 pm and then 8pm until I get the positive smiley face. Yes it could be that your urine was diluted to where it caused your strips not to be as dark as they could have been. The concentration of the urine for the lh tests matter more than the digital. That’s why I like the digital. Since you got a smiley face from the digital you can be sure it’s a surge. I hope this helps! Good luck!🤞😁

That’s right. Sometimes you miss the rise in estrogen and you go straight from empty circle to static smiley face. It doesn’t mean the test was faulty, but your body just skipped past that feature! Or maybe it would have been caught with more frequent testing more than once a day. The smiley face is more of a fun feature in my opinion, to see the rise in estrogen. It’s a nice head up but can also become extremely stressful if you go past three days of flashing. I really recommend just sticking with the pink, surge/ no surge. The pink was my favorite. 😊♥️

I called clearblue because I did this same test with the advanced digital and regular digital. They said the pink ovulation test does not measure estrogen like this advanced so that’s why the flashing
Yes that is right, the pink only has a negative or positive. The pink will most of the time be an empty circle while the purple one flashes. But if you are having your surge, both should have positive smiley faces. I have taken many of these over the years and just a few cycles ago I had a flashing smiley face with the purple and a smiley face positive with the pink using the same urine. So I just like to stick with the pink!☺️

Hi! If you missed seeing the flashing smiley face it’s ok! You’re estrogen may have gone up to fast for you to catch with the test. As long as you get the solid smiley that’s all that really matters 😄 Plus the purple test locks it up when you get the positive for 48 hours so it prevents any more tests until it clears. That’s why I like to keep the pink one and continue to test just for my own curiosity to see how long my surge lasts. I hope this helps! Good luck!

But I have a question regarding the pink one (2 most fertile days)
I have tested yesterday evening, and I got a solid smiley face. But when I pulled out the stripe, the line looked lighter than the control line.
I tested again this morning, and it was just a blank circle.
What does that mean?
Well, it sounds like you caught the very tail end of your surge when you saw the smiley face. And with the lines on the test stick for the digital, it’s nice to see the progression of the test line but they don’t have to match for the test to have a positive smiley face. I’ve had many times where the line was lighter but the test still showed a smiley face and was positive. It’s more about waiting for the face to show up. So it looks like you caught the end of your surge before you ovulated. As long as you got the sperm up there you should have a chance of pregnancy. You can also get a basal body thermometer and check your temperature every morning before you get out of bed, although I’ve tested that whole thing and even getting out of bed and going to the bathroom and doing it in the bathroom so I don’t wake up my husband it didn’t really change the consistency of my temperature in the morning for being accurate. So if you do a basal body temperature every morning, you can confirm your ovulation as every morning it should get higher and higher. Premom has a really good basal body temperature video that you can watch if you don’t know much about it or how to do it. I hope this helps! Good luck!♥️

It’s best to get sperm in there the day of your static smiley face and the next morning which is most likely ovulation day😊

I think at the time of this video I was getting a peak smiley face around cycle day 10 and ovulating by cycle day 11. Cycle length varies depending on what day you ovulate. From ovulation it’s good to have a 12 to 14 day luteal phase before you start your period again. ☺️

Hi! I meant that I skip the flashing smiley face most of the time. The flashing smiley face is just if you are using the purple and you happen to take the test at the time your estrogen level rises. Sometimes it spikes quickly and even though you may be testing more than once a day you may miss the flashing smiley and just go straight to solid smiley which is your peak surge. Sometimes it’s better and easier just to use the pink holder. That way you don’t stress out if you get a flashing smiley face for more than the two days it advertises. Some flash for 5 days and I have done that as well and it is not fun. Anyway I was just saying that as many times as I would bypass the flashing smiley, buying the purple was not really worth it for me. I would stick with the pink. I hope this helps. But once you get your peak(smiley face), you should definitely bd that day and the following day which hopefully would most likely be ovulation day.😊

Hi Chineye! So it sounds like you dipped the stick separately outside of the holder? The stick needs to be inserted into the holder first and then dipped into your urine for 15 seconds. I’ve got mixed up with test kits! Help! The dark purple test kit pack is for the basic test right??? The pink and white are for the advanced test kit? Is that right? I’m getting negative tests and I don’t know if I’m using the wrong test sticks 😭 Please help! I’ve just found out I have an ovarian cyst and it’s messing with my cycle. So upset and scared it’s going to stop me conceiving 😔
Hi Carrie everything will be fine! The more advanced one is the purple test. When your LH hormone is low in the urine then it will be an empty circle just like the pink test. But when your estrogen starts to rise then the test will start to flash and the directions in that test kit are to do first morning urine in the beginning to catch this rise in hormonal change. But if you’d rather just wait till around 1 or 2 PM or even 5 PM to 8 PM to do your testing that’s perfectly fine too. You may skip flashing all together and you might end up going straight to a static smiley face which is just fine because that’s what you want! You want a static smiley face to show you that you are having your peak LH surge. Sometimes the flashing smiley face adds too much drama and stress if it flashes for more than three or four days when it’s typically only supposed to flash for maybe one or two days. On the box it advertises two days for flashing. I generally save the Purple test for fun but do my serious testing with the pink test only. So it’ll be either empty circle or static smiley face. And it’s so easy to tell if things are picking up because when you eject the test stick straight out of the holder the line on the left is the test line and that line should be getting darker and darker every time you test. Just read the directions thoroughly to know which day you should start testing and you can start once a day at the same time every day my time is at 1 PM that I like to test and just make sure your urine is not overly diluted but rather well concentrated. And as far as the cyst I don’t know much about them but they don’t worry me. I was told a long long time ago in one of my exams that I had a cyst on my ovary and it was never presented as an issue but rather that it would go away on its own-no big deal. Ask your OB what your cyst is about and if this is an issue and if it will go away and if it will cause issues with ovulating properly. There are a lot of good videos as well from doctors and fertility experts on balancing your hormones for healthy normal cycles for periods, ovulation, and luteal phase. Not only a well-balanced diet but moderate good exercise will balance your hormones as well. I hope this helps and please don’t panic because it really sounds like this is an easy fix but again ask your doctor and get as much knowledge as you can because knowledge gives you the upper hand. Are you testing with both kinds? The purple and the pink? Honestly I would recommend sticking with the pink test. But it sounds like you caught a surge when you got that smiley face two days ago. If the purple started flashing today it probably caught the decline of your hormones as you probably ovulated yesterday or today. That purple might continue to flash all week if you don’t stop using it to let it clear itself. Also at around 5 dpo the purple could start to flash again with a secondary estrogen rise that is common during that time. Or it could be that your body failed to ovulate and surged a second time to try again. If you start flashing after 5 dpo you could also be pregnant since the embryo gets to the uterus around 5 dpo and begins to implant. A good way to test for ovulation is to take your basal body temperature with a bbt thermometer every morning from here on out to watch your temperature rise to prove you are producing progesterone, which causes the temperature rise. Premom has a great video on bbt. Or have a blood test done to check progesterone levels at around 7 dpo or your best guess of when you think you’re 7 dpo. Yes you can go straight to peak like what your describing. That’s why sometimes it’s better to avoid the purple and just use the pink holder because sometimes you don’t always get a flashing smiley face and you just go straight to Peak surge with a static face. So now you will hopefully ovulate in the next 12 hours or to even as long as 48 hours. I would say most do around the 24 to 36 hour mark. So get plenty of sperm up there now. 😊I hope this helps and that this is your bfp cycle!🙏🤞♥️

That’s ok. The average is to flash for two days before getting your static smiley face. So by tomorrow hopefully you will have your static smiley which is your positive lh surge. Sometimes we get stuck on a flashing face for 5 to 6 days. It will flash forever if you don’t get the peak. Hopefully tomorrow you will get your peak! 🤞♥️

Well I could be totally wrong, but it kind of sounds like you may have failed to ovulate and your body is trying for a second surge? If you had ovulated and the egg came out of your ovary your estrogen drops and the progesterone starts to take over. That flashing smiley face is the signal to let us know that the estrogen is on the rise although some people never get a flashing smiley face and their estrogen just shoots up and they go straight to LH surge with a static smiley face with those purple holders. I had a second surge last year when I was using the Pink Holder and I got a positive smiley face one day and then by the next day it was an empty circle again and so I thought I had ovulated and that was that. Then two days later got a lot of sharp pain in my ovaries again and when I tested again with the pink holder got another smiley face. If you have a doctor you like that you are going to I would ask them what they think and maybe some testing should be done to see if you’re struggling to ovulate? Anyway I’m no expert of course but just from my own experiences and what I’ve heard other women go through that’s just kind of what it sounds like. However I will say if you are past five and 6DPO, if you test with a purple holder and your embryo is starting to embed into your uterus and make hCG, if it’s high enough to be detectable the purple holder will start to flash And if it’s a successful pregnancy eventually with enough hCG you would go to a static smiley face because if you’re pregnant it would turn positive as well. Literally every single box I buy, the tester doesn’t work. Is there anyway to get the tester to read the results? I won’t get a blinking tester on the screen, it’ll just be a still tester on the screen then nothing happens. It is so frustrating!! I am spending all this money and I never know if I’m ovulating!!
I am so sorry! How are you taking the test? You are inserting the stick into the holder first before you dip it in your urine, correct? Just make sure you insert the stick arrow, to arrow all the way in the holder until it clicks into place, and then take the cap off, or sometimes take the cap off first, so that the test stick doesn’t yank out of the holder when you’re taking the cap off. And then once the test stick is securely in place in the holder, dip the wick into your urine for 15 seconds and then put the cap back on and it should work. Let me know what happens!
I got my non flashing smiley face on day 15. on day 14 I test and it was just circle and on day 15 it comes non flashing and now I test on my day 19 and it come flashing smiley face I don't know what's going on please I need help. Can somebody help me ?
Hi! You are the second one that has told me that they got a static smiley face and then the following day or the two days after it clears, it went flashing again. That is so strange to me and I honestly have a no idea how it can do this when it should go back to an empty circle after you get your positive. Either way, The important thing is that you got your static smiley face and this purple holder should’ve locked it in for 48 hours straight. You should definitely ask your doctor but my best guess is that you may have failed to ovulate and your body is trying to do it again. This happened to me last year but I was using the pink holder and not the flashing smiley face purple holder. I had gotten a positive Surge and then the following day it went back to an empty circle and I thought that was it. Then the following day or was it two days later, I had another positive smiley face which to me meant that I tried to ovulate and failed and my body surged again and I ovulated on that second surge.So no matter what’s happening I would go ahead and do your babymaking now assuming that you are going to ovulate soon. I hope it all works out!!

Hi yes the pink clear blue test will have an empty circle if it has not detected your surge yet and a static smiley face when it does detect your Surge. Depending on how long your cycle is in the instruction paperwork there’s a chart that has suggestions for when to start testing based on your cycle length. The purple test will have a Flashing smiley face when it detects a rise in your estrogen which leads to your LH surge which then would go from flashing to a static smiley face. I don’t think either one is better than the other it just depends on your own personal preference and just because you buy the purple one doesn’t guarantee you will ever see a flashing smiley face. So yeah definitely review the paperwork it comes with and also if you want more information on the purple you can go to clearblue.com and they have a lot of statistics about how long women had a flashing smiley face for and things like that which is very interesting! I hope this helps a little bit and try to have a good time with it because it is fun, especially when you get that smiling face!

Yes it sounds like you may have caught the very end of your surge with the second test. I’ve had it happen both ways. The second test may need to record your baseline before giving you a positive if you were to Use that same holder again the next time you have to use the restroom a couple hours later. I have had it done both ways wear my pink test was a positive faceAnd with the same urine I did a purple holder that had reset itself to the beginning and it still came up a static smiley face with that same urine. It’s in a couple ovulation test videos after this one If you want to see those. I also showed the same purple holder showing up as an empty circle with urine that was positive from a pink holder in another video showing that it did want a baseline after it had been reset. The lines on your second holder test will show if they were somewhat the same intensity as your positive test but it kind of sounds like your surge might be over and so as long as you’ve been trying between now and then you should get sperm to your egg in time if you have already ovulated because It depends on the egg and person, but the egg can live up to 24 hours and sometimes as little as 10 hours so as long as you’ve been doing it you should have a chance of getting pregnant because you got a positive surge. Hopefully that means you ovulated as well because a positive Surge doesn’t always guarantee an ovulation. @@shyickavincent9193 no. The purple is the advanced test that locks in the smiley face once your lh goes above 40 miu which means you are having your surge. From that point on you are expected to ovulate sometime in the next 12 to 48 hours. That’s why they freeze it for 48 hours after you get that positive. These 48 hours is when you need to get the sperm in there. 😊♥️

You do? That's great! Have you had any children from the donor yet in the past? From my own experiences, I would say If you are using one vial of ici sperm, inseminate within a couple hours of getting that solid smiley. I never knew about capacitation until the last couple months. The ici sperm are not washed, as you know, and that means they need to go through capacitation in your reproductive tract that prepares them for fertilization. I have read this takes 5 to 7 hours. I used to try and inseminate as close to my ovulation as possible and did get pregnant but I was using iui, which I read that because iui is washed, capacitation has already been initiated so it wont take as long. So if you only have on vial I would do it after you see that solid smiley. If you have two vials, inseminate with the second vial 12 hours after the first vial. I'm excited to meet you! Ok just a question but why inseminate when flashing? Solid face mean peak fertility is what ur waiting for. I would inseminate when I see the solid face because you would ovulate within 12-36 hours following the solid face.

Hi! If you’re using the digital ovulation predictor test then once you get that static smiley face that does not flash if you’re using the purple holder or if you just get the smiley face if using the pink holder test, either way the solid smiley face for either test means that you should go ahead and get together with your husband. Then I would do it again in the next 12 to 24 hours after that. The line on the right is the control line and the line on the left is the test line and even though the digital’s do not have to match to be positive it’s fun to see the line on the left get darker and darker as you test day after day. But yeah once you get your solid smiley face I would go ahead and start trying! I hope this helps!
Can I just ask, I have seen high & peak fertility, but I don't see that I have the egg white CM. Does that mean I will still ovulate as normal?
Yes you don’t need to see egg white cm to ovulate, however if you do not have a good amount it may make it difficult for the sperm to travel. You could get a sperm friendly lubricant like preseed or something else as some have said preseed was bad but I have used it before and got pregnant that cycle.

As far as I know, they don’t sell the tests sticks separately. Even though the holder is still good for several more months, if you use up all the test sticks, you have to buy another kit. I wish they sold them separately!
Is it normal to get flashing smiley for more than 2 days?
Usually about two days as it flashes when it detects your estrogen rising as the follicle gets bigger and closer to ovulation. But don’t worry if it flashes for 4 to 5 days. Anything beyond that 5 and there’s a chance you’re having a hard time surging and ovulation may not happen.

Hi! The line on the left is the test line and the right is the control line. The digital test can be positive by going from empty circle to a smiley face in the result window without needing the lines to match. So if you get a smiley face and eject the test strip from the holder, the test line on the left may be a little lighter than the control line which doesn’t matter. But eventually if you test a couple more times in the next day they will most likely match or the test line can get darker than the control line. That’s why I like the digital. The face is what matters and you don’t have to worry about line color intensity. It’s just fun to observe😁

That means that your surge is over and you must have ovulated sometime yesterday. So hopefully you got the sperm in there by yesterday. It means that the test had an error. Either the test stick was bad or something wrong with the holder. Take the test stick out and wait until the book disappears from the window and then put in a new stick and make sure you put it in all the way until it clicks into place. Hopefully you won’t have any more errors. 🤞

What’s the best day to test for irregular periods ?
Start testing the day after your period ends. That way you can get a sense of what’s happening with your hormones after your period is over and watch the line start to get darker and darker or if you’re using the digital the lines will get dark darker also and then eventually hopefully a solid smiley. If you have the LH strips like easy at home, you could use those inexpensively and watch the lines, get darker, and once they start getting darker and darker, you could include the digital at that point. It sounds like your surge is over. If you haven’t already I would go ahead and have intercourse or inseminate or however you are trying to get pregnant. It could be that you caught it at the tail end of your surge if you hadn’t tested before that afternoon smiley face test. And some women have really quick surges too so yours might be a little shorter than you thought it was going to be if this is the first time testing and you’re getting to know your ovulation pattern. Also it could be that there was a failure and you might get another positive again tomorrow. That happened to me once where I got a positive ovulation test with the pink holder and then it was negative several hours later and then it picked back up again and was positive again the next day. No definitely try now. Your egg can still be fertilized 24 hours after Ovulation. I got pregnant once 14 hours past ovulation. It just means your surge is over and at the end somewhere you ovulated, hopefully. Sometimes a surge doesn’t end with ovulation but for the most part it will. 🥰❤️

I’m so sorry this has been difficult for you. If you don’t have one, I would definitely get a good Obgyn and get some basic testing done just to make sure your wife has a healthy follicular phase, is ovulating, and has a healthy and good length of a luteal phase. She can also have her hormones checked just to make sure that everything is balanced and everything but yes if you’ve been trying for a while, I would definitely reach out to a doctor for their help so that you don’t lose too much more time if you’ve been trying for a while. Good luck I hope everything works out for you! If you haven’t tried these digital tests you should. They come with very detailed instructions about how and when to test. I will always use them!😊

Hi Angel. I think I had it flash one time for that long as well. If you don’t get a solid smiley face by tomorrow or the next day which would make it seven days of flashing, I would stop testing with the purple holder and wait two days for the test to clear and test again after that. It could be that it’s not catching your surge but did catch the rise in your estrogen and it might flash forever until you quit using it for a couple days to have it reset itself. Is the line on the left getting dark? What does the line on the left look like? If it’s not getting any darker you might be having trouble reaching your peak. If you haven’t already I would make an appointment with an OB or even a fertility specialist if you’ve been trying for a long time to get tested to make sure you are ovulating normally and that there isn’t some thing else going on that’s preventing you from Getting to your surge and releasing your eggs.Please let me know what happens in the next day or two and like I said if it’s flashing tomorrow and the next day making it seven days of flashing, I would stop using the test for two days and then try again and see what happens. @@Angel-xc2vh It sounds like you had your surge last cycle . So I am not sure what to make of your 5 days of flashing. It just could be that you’re not getting a high enough level for this cycle. If you don’t get pregnant this cycle and this week long flashing happens again next cycle , I would get tested. Honestly I would recommend getting tested anyway so that you don’t spend months and even years trying if there is something going on that is interfering with your ovulation. Hi I’m sorry to hear that it’s been flashing for eight days now? Have you tested your LH surge before this cycle? Is this the first time you’re using this test? It’s been so long but I actually think this happened to me earlier this year, it’s been a while but this has happened to other girls as well where it flashes for like eight days and they never get the static smiley face. One reason could be that although the test detected a rise in your estrogen, you’re not getting to a high enough LH level for the test to detect a peak Surge. The test in the paperwork says that it reads a peek at 40 miu. I have also read that some women still have a peak surge but it is not high enough for it to register on this test and so even though the test never says you’re positive, you still had your peak and may have ovulated anyway. Otherwise if you’re failing to have an LH surge and failing to ovulate the test will continue to blink until you stop using it for a few days at which point it will reset itself. It’ll keep on blinking until you get a high enough LH for the static smiley face. That’s why I haven’t really wanted to use it lately and prefer the pink holder because there’s no flashing smiley face to get hopeful on and then have some thing like this happen. And if you have both holders you can at least test both to have back up if you don’t think one of the holders is right. I hope this makes sense and I hope you have a good doctor that you trust in case there is an ovulation issue. Good luck I hope by now you have gotten your static smiley face! I know it is strange and I’m not sure why they don’t match when it’s positive but with the digital test it’s more or less interesting to watch the line get darker but it doesn’t necessarily mean that the test is Negative when the lines don’t match. I’ve had that happen many times and then I would test again and again later on and it could be that my urine was more concentrated later when the lines did become stronger and matched more. And especially for the strips like easy at home your water intake and your urine concentration really does make a difference as far as the lines matching and everything which makes consistency of testing really important. That’s why I like the digital because I don’t have to worry too much about how much water I drink so many hours ago to know that I have a positive Surge.

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to watch! Yes I have a 20 month old girl. I got pregnant with her after turning 41. I made a very long video all about it but basically after my 4th or 5th attempt at ivf with my husband, he ended up going completely sterile. That's when I scoured RUclips and discovered a cryobank that actually will send the sperm to your house for at home insemination. My husband going sterile in a way made using a donor "ok" at that point. Something I never thought I would ever do in my life. I got pregnant with my daughter on the first try. Now 2 years later, my eggs are even older and the chances of chromosomal abnormalities are even higher. I take several supplements to counter act this and just hope that I can have just one more.

@@yassmine9193 I think seven days of a flashing smiley face is a little long especially if it never becomes a solid smiley face. I think the OPK kit expects you to flash for about two days before the static face. If you haven’t already I would make an appointment with your obstetrician and let them know what’s going on so that they can check your hormones through blood tests. The usual of what we read says we’re fertile up to five days before we ovulate and that goes along with what we read about the sperm living for three to five days and I have read as long as seven days under the best circumstances. so yeah I would definitely not wait if you’re not getting a positive surge and make an appointment with your doctor. I hope this helps!

Why I have two line on my ovulation test?
You will always have two lines the one on the right is the control line and the one on the left is the test line. The test line will get darker and darker as you get closer and closer to your LH surge. When the left line matches the control line you are most likely having the start of your surge or if the test line on the left is darker than the line on the right it indicates that you are having your surge. The lines on the Digital test don’t have to match for theSmiley face to appear and for you to show that you are having your surge. That’s why I like the digital because there’s no guesswork, it’s either a positive with a smiley face or it’s an empty circle and you don’t have to try to figure out if the lines truly match or not. 😁

The blinking smiley face or “flashing” smiley face Is when the purple clear blue digital detects a rise in estrogen getting closer to the positive LH surge which would then be the steady solid smiley face. If you have unlimited sperm supply and get to baby dance as they call it, then yes I would do it the day you get that smiley face and then I would do it the following morning hoping that that is the actual ovulation day.😊♥️

Haha! No actually be glad! The Flashing is just that five extra dollars you pay to see your estrogen rise! Going straight to static smiley is great if you don’t need the high fertility warning like I seem to now that my cycle is not a predictable as it used to be. What happened when the solid smiling face is still there
Hi! Do you mean when the smiley face stays on the purple holder? The purple locks for 48 hours and the smiley face shows the entire two days, then it clears and starts the test over again if you need it for the next cycle. I think they did that as a reminder by seeing that static smiley face that you are the most fertile and can ovulate sometime during that 48 hour window as long as the face remains in the window. Plus once you get a positive surge there really isn’t a need to test anymore unless you are curious to see how long your surge lasts, which I have done many times in the past. That can be done with the pink test. I hope this made sense!😄

I’m lucky enough to get sharp pain in the ovary that I ovulate from which is a nice assurance, but not every one gets it and that makes it hard to know if and when they ovulated. It sounds like you surged and ovulated. I hope you are successful in getting a positive pregnancy test soon!! I would love to know what happens!

How long are your cycles usually? I think I heard of someone ovulating on day 22 when they had a 35 day cycle. If you haven’t already you should go to clear blue.com because they have a lot more information than the general information that comes in the directions with the test. One reminder was that the digital, much like a pregnancy test, is not 100% accurate and if you surge, but it doesn’t reach the 40 that it detects, it may not pick up your surge. Thank you I'm glad it was helpful! It really just depends on what you want. Both tests are great. If you want to save the five dollar difference you can buy the pink test. The test line will be getting darker as you get closer to your surge. The purple is great if you want that extra warning, and the flashing smiley face will let you know that your estrogen is rising. But there is no guarantee that you will get a flashing smiley. I just used my purple test and went from an empty circle to a static smiley and skipped the flash altogether. In this case, the pink would have been the way to go and save that five dollars. So it's just a personal preference. I hope this helps! Good luck!

I’m still waiting for a BFP! Month 4 of trying for baba 2 iv only ever had one chemical pregnancy when I was about 19/20 I had positive tests then started bleeding heavily so I went to AnE(your ER) and there was never a baby they said I wanted it that bad my body mimicked the HCG hormone! A few years later at 23 I’m January 2019 I found out I was pregnant and had a missed miscarriage I found out at what should of been 10 weeks I was measuring 6weeks sac and yolk so they thought I could of got my days wrong so I had to go back again and nothing had happened in a week I was then refers to the hospital they did a scan then they had to wait a week as it’s there policy after 4 weeks of scans I was supposed to have a DNC the night before I started bleeding very bad! I had to sit on the toilet as it was just coming out like a tap! I filled up 2 maxi pads in 10 mins and started feeling faint and dizzy so the ambulance came I started passing very big clots biggest ones iv ever seen about to size of my hand! They sent me for a scan and the sac and yolk were still there they then noticed I was close to haemorrhaging and ended up having a emergency DNC after that I found out I was pregnant with my boy 2 months later who is now 9m old! Fingers crossed for you rainbow 🌈 I hope for baby 2 soon❤️ I’m on ovulation day today but iv run out of ovulation tests so we’ve been baby dancing every other day for the past few days! Hopping for a BFP in 9-12days x

Why I get high fertility then the day after go back low
Are you saying that you got your peak? If you took a test, whatever test you are choosing to use, if you got your peak, then it should go back to low by the next day or two when your surge is over, your hormones will drop back down again and the lines will get lighter again. 🙂
I’ve used this test multiple times, has received all forms of smiley and empty faces, but has also received dark blue lines on my test stick every time. What do the dark blue lines mean? I’ve been testing for about 2 months .
Hi Asia thank you for messaging me. Well the two lines are to show that you have LH present but that is very low if the line on the left is light. The test line is the line that is closest to where you dip it in your urine. That’s the way it is on pregnancy tests as well. And the line on the right is the control line which should always be the same dark blue color for these tests. When you’re getting closer to your surge the test line will start to get noticeably darker but because it’s digital, the lines do not have to match necessarily for it to be a positive surge. You can get a smiley face positive and have dark lines that are practically matching. So the lines are just showing the progression but since it’s digital you want to focus on the result that comes up in the digital window but you can always know that you’re getting closer by looking at the lines. Does that make any sense? Sometimes it’s good to have another kind of test as a back up. I hope this helps!😊

Yes you can. If you go to clear blue.com it says in there that the purple holder test with the flashing smiley face is recommended to take first morning urine to detect the rise in estrogen giving you that flashing smiley face. Otherwise most ovulation predictor kits recommend testing in the afternoon and early evening to pick up the LH Hormone. In the directions it tells you when you should start testing according to your cycle length and you just do testing starting at once a day until you get closer to ovulation when the lines start getting darker and then you can start testing two or three times a day to make sure you catch the start of your surge.I hope this helps!

@@andreapoole4778 and also I have the pink one that you have on your video not the purple one … so what about the pink one cause it says I can start testing anytime of day I can start testing same time a day and it says identify 2 fertile days ? And I’m 5 days before ovulation so that means I have to wait till my tracker says high chance of getting pregnant on the two days before ovulation ??? Is 5 days before too early to test ? Help me out here
@@jniahcorry3278 You’re welcome! A clinic will tell you that spotting doesn’t count and that it’s the day that you have full flow is day one of your period. But honestly the day I see brown or pink or anything is the day I call it day one of my cycle and it has always been true for me. So no matter what time of day I see it, if I have not yet gone to bed and it’s nine or 10 o’clock at night that I see brown pink or red, I call that day one.
@@jniahcorry3278 Even though you’re five days away I would absolutely start testing now. My favorite time of day when I get my best results are usually at 1 o’clock in the afternoon after about a three hour hold with not a lot of liquids. I also get good results at seven or 8 o’clock at night after a three or four hour hold with no liquids. And even though it comes up an empty circle when you eject the test you will see that the line on the left is getting darker and darker and darker and when it’s starting to get dark like that I like to test two or three times a day because I have gotten a smiley face sometimes as late as 8 PM or even 11 PM with the pink holder. And a couple cycles ago, with the pink holder I got a smiley face first thing in the morning because my surge had started while I was sleeping. So for the sake of not wasting these expensive test sticks, you can start now once a day and then do twice a day when you’re getting closer. And then if you have a fertile partner with you and don’t have to do IUI or donor sperm like I do, I would try for the baby when you see the positive smiley face And then do it again 12 hours later.
So its my first time using this test after having two kids, when i tested i got the circle but when i pulled the strip it had two lines whats that supposed to mean im so confused
Hi Soso I’m sorry I never saw this post! I hope you were able to get some answers since it looks like this is about three weeks old. But if you didn’t, the test the first time you use it will calibrate to your hormone levels and will most likely always be an empty circle. However with the pink holder test I have gotten a static smiley face on the first time using it right out of the box before. But anyway if you’re using the purple holder it will mostLikely start out as an empty circle and then if your hormone levels are rising in your estrogen is going up you may get the flashing smiley face before you get the static smiley face. But as far as the two lines when you pull the test stick out the line on the left is the test line and the line on the right is the control line. You will always have two lines but the line on the left can be very light which means low and eventually as you get closer and closer to your LH surge that line on the left will get darker and darker. So when you see that you’ll know that you’re getting closer and closer to a face as you test every day. But those lines do not have to match on this digital test in order for the test to pick up your LH surge and give you a positive result. I took 2 this week one had a flashing smiling face so I didn't believe it so I used a new pack and tested same day and got a zero so I'm so confused on these. My CM today is white and having Tender breast when I wipe so I don't know what's going on.
Hi Mabel! Since you opened up a brand new pack and it was another purple holder I’m assuming, it should be an empty circle no matter what because it supposedly needs to calibrate to your hormone levels since it’s the first time using that particular holder of the new pack. So the next time you go to the bathroom and collect a sample if you use it again it should start flashing. Or maybe by the next time you collect a sample and dip it again with a new test stick in that holder it may even jump straight to a static smiley face and skip flashing all together. When you pull the test stick out you’ll see that the line should be getting darker on the left side which is the test line. That’ll also help you know that you’re getting closer and closer and that you should be getting a static smiley face soon. I hope this helps and good luck!
@@andreapoole4778 yes it helps alot thank you! I have been testing with the new one still getting a zero the old one has a steady smiling face. The line is getting darker and I'm having CM comes today and is white so I don't know if ovulation is coming soon.

I have two strong lines but test still reads negative, however my day to ovulate is tomorrow. I'll check again in the morning.
Yes that has happened to me before a few times. Which test are you using? Sometimes when lines are almost matching on the digitals, the pink will pick up the surge first and be a positive when the purple comes up negative even though they should both be positive at the same time. You can also test again tonight because I have had surges start in the evening as well when earlier that afternoon it was negative. I’m sure it’ll be positive the next time you test from the way it sounds!🤗

@@andreapoole4778 I think I started testing too late I have a 28 day cycle and my cycle is always on time exact to the date. So was seeing I need to start checking from day 11 I started on day 15 😒.

I am ovulating On purple digital result test but not ovulating on pink digital result test , anyone ? I am so confused. And can I use purple sticks on pink digital result reader ?
So your purple is positive with a solid smiley face but your pink test is an empty circle? Was it with the same urine? If you tested again later with the pink it could be that you caught your surge with the purple but it’s over now. As long as you have been trying during this time you should be good. And yes you can use the purple sticks with the pink holder and vice versa. I do it all the time and the results are the same as if using the matching sticks. Good luck I hope all goes well!! 🙏🤞💕
@@andreapoole4778 I doubt that my surge is over and no it wasn’t the same urine. Did you do pink and purple holder at the same time ? Does it have to be at the same time in order for test holder to read correctly?
@@middleeasternvibes6950 if you want to use both holders to make sure that they’re both agreeing with each other then you should use the same urine with each holder even though it is a little expensive, but if you want to use both holders like I did, you certainly can. And if anything, just to compare and see what happens with each test but what I was saying was if your purple holder locked in a smiley face because it detected a surge and is now locked in for 48 hours and then several hours later you tested with the pink and it came up negative it might be that your surge is over already and that maybe you tested at the last Part of your surge with the purple holder and that’s why you managed to get a positive with it. That’s just what it sounds like I’m not saying that’s what happened only you know what’s going on really so I wouldn’t be too worried about the pink being negative since you got the positive with the purple, but I highly recommend taking your temperature every morning with a basal body temperature thermometer to also monitor your temperature as it gets very low before ovulation and then rises above your normal every day temperature after ovulation and that helps prove ovulation also. Do you do that already or do you know much about it? There are a lot of good videos on charting your basal body temperature. pre-mom has a good video teaching how to do it correctly. I love taking my basal body temperature because you really get a heads up for what’s going on and I can see that my ovulation is getting closer when my temperature gets really low, and then after ovulation, it gradually rises, higher and higher above my normal temperature.😁

They have examples of women who had flashed for a couple days to several days and I definitely recommend going to clearblue.com and taking a look at that. I think a couple days is ok as long as it doesn’t keep flashing for a week. I had it flash once for 5 days before it finally turned positive. Good luck!

I'm so sorry I didn't see this message until just now. No, unfortunately I had another chemical pregnancy. My eggs are most likely poorer quality now that I am older, so it will take some trying until a normal egg finally comes through. I'm happy for you that you got a smiley face on your ovulation test! I hope you get your baby!
