Poland has a great history of struggle, wars, culture and a country that dances to its own rhythm. So many times attacked from all sides it has been a beacon of struggle, faith and resilience. Little wonder that the flood of so called refugees is being resisted by Poles. Not because they’re Muslims but because they come illegally, and because they have shown an unwillingness in other countries to adapt and adopt the culture of the host nations, not just because they’re Muslim. The Tatars a people who have integrated and adopted the life and culture of Poland. They have fought alongside Poles in many conflicts but are true Poles. Muslim or not.

In the Republic of Poland and Lithuania they were nobles. Highest social class, could not be forced to do anything could not be arrested without court sentence, not even by the king himself, and didn't have to fight unless in self-defence or if they voluntarily chosen to join armed forces or participate in noble leve. This put them in much better situation not just in comparision with the Khanate or Ottoman Empire, but in comparision to any country in the world at the time.
Best example was what happened after the Lipka rebellion. After a few years they decided to return to the Republic's side. Received amnesty and ownership of lands as compensation for events that made them rebel in the first place.

There is a difference between older Islam practiced by Lipka Tatars and the more modern Islam practiced in the Middle East. Perhaps this is why the Lipka Tatars, after going over to the Ottomans, decided to return back to Poland and Lithuania.
Some years ago archives at Ankara, Turkey were opened to the public, showing that approximately 1.5 million slaves have been extracted from eastern Slavs during the Ottoman wars. Many of these slaves were extracted by Ottomans themselves, but most were taken from their regular raids into Poland, Lithuania and Russia by Crimean Tatars and sold in the slave markets of Istanbul. Crimean Tatars used to be an independent state after Golden Horde broke down, until they became an Ottoman possession. Their raids finally ended when Catherine the Great formally annexed Crimea into her Russian Empire in 1783.

A very good film about Poland, Poles and people living in Poland for centuries.
The Poles have never oppressed anyone because they practiced a different religion or a different god.
But we in Poland have other examples of assimilated followers of Allah.
After the victorious relief of Vienna, the Polish king Jan III Sobieski brought 10,000 Turkish prisoners to Poland. They were ordered to work in Poland for 10 years and then they would be free. Almost all of them wanted to live in Poland as free people - they did not want to return to their homelands.

It is true, many of the tatars that wanted to settle in Lithuenia/Polish-Lithuenian Commonwealth were political refugiees - members of clans, families that lost struggle for power among crimean tatars , golden orde etc. and faced anihilation/persecution - return was not really an option for them. Aditionally serving Polish king made them traitors in many muslims eyes, and it was always a small population - several thousand people - witch made partial assimilation (language , laws ) inavoidable. If it happend in diferent times or circumstances that story could play out simillarly , or not. Regardless Lipkas are part of Polish history and culture, and aside for that one short lived rebellion mentioned in the video, they served loyally Lithuenia , than Polish-Lithuenian comonwealth , and fought alongside poles , lithuenians , and other groups against partitiones of Poland (Russia , Prussia, and Austro-Hungary) in uprisings for independence , and in Polish army after regaining of independence in 1918.

it is true! many of our most known people are of Tatar descend
you can't see it by their surnames but would have to check through genealogy, as one of the laws to make them assimilate with local populace was: in case of Polish-Tatar marriages they had to take on the Polish surname of their spouse
so many Tatars took their wife's surname 😀

Indeed. They clearly didn't believe in things like Jizya or forceful persuasion. It doesn't even seem they knew the book. Since not many people back in the day could read even in their own language, and the book was not available in Tatar language, it is more than likely. What suggests it best is that they went to Vienna to support Sobieski, or their famous letter from the XVIth century in which they refuse to join Crimea, fragment of which says (you can translate with Google: "Ani Bóg, ani Prorok nie każą wam rabować, my zaś was mamy za rabusiów, a naszą szablą was pokonując, zabijamy hultajów, a nie braci naszych” - it's clear from that fragment that they rejected forseful persuasion and Jizya.

@@piotrmalewski8178 They just follow the real islam. Islam has been lied about a lot, and a lot of these lies are even believed my Muslims themselves. I don't know if you understand French, in which case I would recommend you a website called "Que dit vraiment le coran ?"
Jizya is not a tax for Jews and Christians (in the verse related to it the Quran doesn't even talk about them but about the polytheists that had spread a war against the Prophet and Muslims at that time) to live in a muslim country, but a capitulation tribute paid by the polytheists to stop the war, as a compensation for their betrayal and violation of the peace treaty. It's not even every polytheist, because the Quran tells Muslims to treat justly and peacefully the innocent ones.
Also, forceful persuasion has never been a thing in the Quran, which says "to you your belief and to me my belief", and "no constraint in religion".

At the finale, they are forced to surrender the fortress and decide to end their lives by igniting the arsenal. It wasn't just, but the Teutonic knights were actully right that Poland was not Christian. And definitely it was not Catholic. It only formally belonged to Catholic Church, but in reality it was not.

It is also important to note that in the old Polish language, there was no specific term for Mongolian; thus, all individuals from the east were referred to as Tatars. The precise ethnicity of the Lipka Tatars remains uncertain, but it is clear that they were part of the Golden Horde. During the internal political turmoil within the Mongolian Empire, a segment of its army defected and was subsequently recruited by the private armies of local nobles in Lithuania and eastern Poland, later serving in national military duties. This process occurred multiple times, contrary to the claim that it happened only once. Unlike the Cossacks, the Lipka Tatars consistently demonstrated loyalty when required, despite some instances of revolt. Tatar officers were granted noble privileges equivalent to those of Polish, Ruthenian , and Lithuanian nobility on several occasions, whereas the majority of Cossacks did not receive such recognition, with only a few exceptions. It is also worth mentioning that the entire Lipka Tatar nobility underwent a process of Polonization and integrated into the local population, similar to the experiences of Lithuanian and Ruthenian nobility. These few villages continue to practice ancient religions and traditions; however, they represent only a minor segment of the overall Eastern genetic influence within the Polish population today.

    One remark.
''Lipkas' uprise'' was just the rebellion over unpaid soldiers wages - which wasn't paid also for Polish soldiers too. But by imams on the direct order of Ottoman Sultan Mehmed IV given to Islamic Polish Tatars as mufti.
From this time no one wanted to give any of Muslim any important role in Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth because all were afraid that some fake ''call of faith'' from our enemies (like sultan or car for Orthodox) breaks the oath to Poland.
Still there was no obstruction to be low level official apart your faith.

The Lipka Tatars were not an ethnic group, rather a breakaway unit Tatar yurt. Genetically, they were closest to the Volga Tatars. Now we have the opportunity to find out who our ancestors were nomads who lived from Siberia to Europe. What a trail they left.
    DNA data.
Volga Tatars - European HG 45,4 %, Anatolian neolitic farmer 34 %, Amur River HG 10.8%, Caucasus HG 7.6%, Yellow River Neolitic Farmer 2.2%,
    - Cimmerians, Karasuk_BA, Zhevakinsky_BA, Andronovo_MLBA, Sintashta_MLBA, Hun_early Arpadian commoners, Steppe_Maykop, Kubano-Tersk_Late, Rus_Alans_MA, Rus_Anapa_MA, Sarmatian (Southern Urals) and close to early Arpadian period, Volga (Iron Age), Cimmerians
Bashkirs - European HG 30%, Baikal HG 25.6%, Anatolian neolitic farmer 16.6%, East Siberian HG 9%, Caucasus HG 7.6%, Yellow River Neolitic Farmer 6.2%, Zagros Neolitic Farmer 5%
    - Onogundur, Saka (Central Steppe), Scythians (Pazyryk culture), Xionite, Western Turk (Central steppe), Sargat culture, Tocharian (Tarim basin) and close to Siberian Tatars
Chuvashs - European HG 45%, Anatolian neolitic farmer 27.2%, East Siberian HG 17%, Caucasus HG 7.0%, Yellow River Neolitic Farmer 3.8%
    - Saami (Iron Age), Volga Finns (Iron Age), Tagar culture, Sargat culture, Karasuk culture, Cimmerian, Saka (Tian Shan), Wusun. and close to Besermyan, Udmurt.
I have no data on Siberian Tatars, however
Typical of the Pazyrykites, the craniological complex of characters has a certain resemblance to the modern South Siberian race, but is more Caucasoid. It is characterized by a mesobrachicrous, medium-sized braincase and a tall, broad, medium-sized face with a medium-protruding nose. The formation of this type occurs on the territory of Gorny Altai in the Bronze Age, as a result of a mixture of two morphological variants - dolichocrane Caucasoid, with a high and wide face, and brachicran, with moderately pronounced Mongoloid features and a low face. The ratio of initial components in different local groups of the Pazyryk population varies - the Caucasian type in an unmixed form is most often found in the regions of the South-West and Central Altai, and the proportion of the brachican Mongoloid component with a relatively low face is higher among the population of the northern, peripheral, part of the Pazyryk range. Summarizing the results of the study, the following conclusions can be drawn: modern populations of the North Altai anthropological type, which include the northern Altai, Teleuts, mountain Shors, as well as the late Baraba Tatars, are descendants of the carriers of the Pazyryk culture. In its most "pure" form, the craniological complex characteristic of the descendants of the Pazyryks is preserved among the Teleuts and Baraba Tatars. The Bashkirs of Mavlyutovo also have a similar craniotype.

KARASUKSKAYA CULTURE, archeological culture of the late Bronze Age (15/14-9/8 centuries BC) in the Minusinsky Depression on Enisei; the main metallurgical center in the northern zone of the East Asian metallurgical province.
The economy is based on settled cattle breeding; the oldest authentic use of the horse for riding in the region. Metallurgical activities the focus of the mining and metallurgical industry was based on the ores of the Sayano-Altai mining and metallurgical industry. regions; were used mainly copper-arsenic alloys. From North China to East Europe knows swords and daggers called. “Karasuk”: double-edged, with a straight crosshair and a mushroom-shaped pommel, and single-edged, curved, the handles of which are often decorated with geometric patterns. ornaments, and the tops - figures of deer, elk, ram, etc.
There are 4 stages of the K. k.: Karasuk, Karasuk-Lugavsky, Lugavsky and Bainovsky. Carriers of K. k. are a group of Caucasians, with a significant Mongoloid component. The origin of K. is associated with the multicomponent environment of the Neolithic and Bronze Ages of the adjacent regions of Siberia (Okunev culture, etc.) with the participation of several waves of migrations of the Andronovo culture from the territory of modern. Kazakhstan and the Upper Ob, andronoid cultures of the West Siberian Plain, eastern. groups of roller ceramics culture. On the basis of K. k. the Tagar culture developed.( Early Scythian culture)
      Anthropological appearance
      1. According to L. Gumilyov, the culture was created by Mongoloid nomads (the presence of Caucasian-type skulls is explained by mixing with the Dinglins). The original distribution area was northern China.
      2. According to other assumptions, the Karasuk people came from the south from the Central Asian region, since skulls of people of the Caucasoid Pamir-Fergana type are found in Karasuk graves.
      3. Some researchers (B. O. Dolgikh, A. P. Dulzon, N. L. Chlenova, E. A. Novgorodova, M. D. Khlobystin, etc.) believe that the Karasuk people are the ancestors of the Kets. J. van Driem considers the Burushaski speakers in the Hindu Kush as descendants of the Karasuk culture
      4. In a modern sense
Most researchers consider the Karasuk people to be representatives of a mixed type, which was based on the Europoid Mediterranean “Andronovo” anthropological type (This means the Eastern Mediterranean, or the Pontic-Caspian Mediterranean originated from the Yamnaya culture specific to this region), supplemented by the Mongoloid type of aliens from the eastern regions of Central Asia (In A. Dremov, A. N. Bagashev)

You are misusing several data here.
The term "Volga Bulgaria" went out of use, as the land was conquered by the Mongols, and later integrated into the Kazan Khanate.
The successor language of the Volga Bulgarian is believed to be Chuvash.
"Tatar" has been an umbrella term mostly for Kipchak peoples for several centuries. It used to have much wider use in Imperial Russia, including several peoples not considered Tatars today, f.e. Azerbaijani. Also, any lands east from the historic Slavic settlement were called "The Greater Tartaria" for centuries.
Lipka Tatars have actually closest ties with the Crimean Tatars.
Polish were using the name "Lithuanian Tatars" ("Tatarze litewcy"; f.e. by Kryczyński, Stanisław in 1938; did he work in Poland for Stalin's administration?).

I once heard a statement from a Polish Tatar who answered the question: Do they identify themselves as Poles?
-We don't identify as Poles, we are Poles. Polish Tatars marry Catholics, Orthodox. They give their children the right to choose which religion they adopt. Polish Tatars are deeply integrated into society, while maintaining their unique culture and religion. This bond has been developing for hundreds of years. The West thinks that three generations are enough and Muslims will become progressive atheists, it doesn't work like that.

Polish tatars? There is nothing "Polish" in it as there is no specific Polish tatars.. Lipka - means LITHUANIAN - "The name Lipka is derived from the old Crimean Tatar name of Lithuania". Tatars were settled in Lithuania by Lithuanian Grand Duke Vytautas the Great. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipka_Tatars

You are correct: that's why Polish Tatars are not Lipkas. They are Polish Tatars, nothing to do with Lithuania. You are right ;)
