Admittedly this newer ILX looks more de-Civic-fied, but Acura still seems disinterested in really upgrading the tech and drivetrain performance in this car. An increase to around 220 or 230hp and cosmetically modifying the newer Honda infotainment systems (i.e. Accord and Pilot) to give it an Acura style, would make this ILX a strong contender in this class.
Honestly, Base model looks like the best value. I'd rather have real buttons instead of an info-tainment system with a touchscreen. Wish Acura had offered a turbo charged engine option. And quite frankly, a moonroof delete. Cars I buy, I keep for a long time. Last thing I want is a leaky moonroof or sunroof because the seals got old and deteriorated. Passenger side literally looks sad and depressed. But would still make for an excellent buy as Pre-owned.
I like the distinctive looks and proven powertrain. However, because of they price and the and difference in some quality materials I would consider this a near luxury model. Not a bad car and definitely a luxury brand. But not quite a luxury car. IMHO. But for the money, HECK YES. And great review guys. I really like your pricing on screen. Looking forward to more delectable auto delights !!
After test driving both since they were both at the same price point, I chose a Civic Touring over the ILX premium. Really the only thing the Acura had going for it, is it would retain more value over time being an Acura. The touring had all the bells and whistles the ILX premium had, andwas frankly more fun to drive, which is why I chose it. I'm not gonna just go for the prestige of having the Acura logo on my car If I didnt enjoy it more.
I like it very much. If theres one thing I dont care for, its the fact that the rear looks a little too Lexusy; tail lights and lower vent style reflector housings. Speaking of those vents, thats a lot of design space to use to house reflectors. It would be great to see rear fog lamps in those locations. Thanks for another great review.
The exterior is great. The interior is the only thing that needs some updates on. Other than that I think it’s a good car for Acura buyers who are interested in getting the cheapest car Acura has currently got in their inventory.
Dont like the Exterior, Interior looks cramped but Its got a 4 cylinder without a Turbo and the Transmission is supposed to be great!. Gonna go for a test drive.
I think it looks great, interior yes does look dated, for a Acura it is a great price but I think I would probably also consider a mid-level Accord with a few options for that price, I know that this is a different category but for the same price the Accord is really really nice. However I'm sure that they're going to have great lease rates for this car and since a lot of people lease these days it's going to be an attractive buy!!
Exterior looks really nice, but based on the outdated and cheap interior from 2013, I think I’d rather prefer a fully loaded civic touring. They should have completely redesigned it for 2019 model year but whatever whatever I guess
I think the ILX is a good deal for a sport/luxury sedan but is missing features that you can get on the Accord for around the same money, like remote start with climate control, head up display, digital gauges. I would get the Honda Accord touring or the Nissan altima platinum rather than this.
Car Confections I honestly hope the ILX has a new generation because a premium civic based car would be very beneficial. Have an entry luxury car with a low price that beats rivals
