Matthias Jabs is the most underrated guitarist in hard rock history. The dude came up with so many classic intro riffs, he did for the 80's what Jimmy Page did for classic intro's in the early 70's.
even live this guy is incredible , saw them in 2018 and the solos were jawdropping
Agree 100%
Yep. And the dude never even gets a nod from anyone. It’s crazy!!
he is awful and they got most of their stuff from michael avia rudolf -he still cant play anything michael wrote and cant even begin t play the uli jon roth stuff -wake up rudolf is a helluva better player than jabs also soory i love scorps old stuff but jabs typical -1-4- 5 three chord blues player
@@paulkcormier are you serious , that is utter bullshit , matthias is a fucking insane guitar player live and in studio , get your ears checked
This album is a total masterpiece, one of the most important album of 80s !
You wrote the soundtrack to the best days of my life.
I was also in a three man rock/metal band where we covered all your hits. Not an easy job for one guitarist/vocalist.
Irrespective of whether you see it important or not, the Scorpions deserve entrance into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. It’s long overdue.
🎉🎉🎉🎉
LAFS was my first Scorpions album. This album was EVERYTHING to me when I was 15. At 52, I am still loving it. ;)
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
It was my first album from them as well.. Still a huge fan of the 🦂 Scorpions today..👍🤘
I was either 17 or 18 when it came out. I don`t know. I can never calculate my age. I celebrated my 50th birthday twice.
Blackout and Love At First Sting are my favorite Scorp’s albums.
@@SuperWhitesnake1 Animal Magnetism is great too. I got it on cassette in 1985 while working in Dallas. Wore it out. Saw Pantera play live that year too.
That's crazy that Still Loving You took several years to "catch on" with the band. I'd love to hear an early version of it.
No doubt this album had a monumental impact on everyone who loved great rock and roll in the 1980’s! So many great memories come to light when played again and again. 🎸❤️🔥🦂
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
MY MEMORY OF THEM: I went to visit with my sister in Texas and forgot I`d left tiny ganja plants in dixie cups in an area behind our home. I was in Dallas for about 6 weeks and met three legends but didn`t realize at the time...Darrell Abbott, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Jimmie Vaughan. When I returned to rural Louisiana Rock You Like A Hurricane had just been released and the cups had turned over and two of the plants rooted into the soil because of rains and were already nearly two feet tall! They provided smoke all year. I kept picking and drying only the tops and they kept growing more and more of them and getting bushier until the plants began producing tiny tops and leaves covered in sparkling crystals. It was so good. Some of the best I`ve ever had. It made me hallucinate at night and made me feel great. I was eventually able to harvest about 3 doobs per day of tiny spider tops covered in crystals and had discovered the music of Stevie Ray Vaughan. The next year I worked construction in Dallas and saw Pantera play clubs.
Thank you to the Scorpions for making this documentary for the fans! I love it!
I appreciate the documentary as well, but this came out in 2015...
@@jakerodrocks I am also confused, why it wasn’t on RUclips later anymore.
@@jakerodrocksWell that makes sense. I recall seeing a lot of album documentaries at one time in this format. But I must have forgotten watching it because I learned a lot of new things about this album.
Scorpions forever
God bless you fellow rocker! Jesus saves sinners!
The iconic guitar solos and Klaus’ s voice…Simply the best!
Scorqioninmyhardbymansouthenchumporn
God bless you fellow rocker! God bless you! Jesus saves!
I so wish Herman and Francis would join again for a world tour. Thanks for the memories.
Me too. God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
We want more documentaries of the first albums and of everyone in general
Too bad they forgot "As Soon as the Good Times Roll", it never gets enough love. It was always one of my favorite therapeutic songs.
Yeah, it’s a killer song.
Same here. SO melodic!
Will surely be played on the next tour, they announced they play the entire album.
Great song!
💯🎯🎯 . Easily their catchiest & most melodic song
ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLtheseyears close to SIXTY years of Scorpions still looking 30year young guys
Love At First Sting was the 80's for me. Everything about the music... the melodies, the rhythms, the lyrics. The ENERGY! I've had this album in every playlist I've ever made and still crank it often. Brings back a ton of memories.
Tons Of Memories Indeed. The 80s Was The Best & The End Of 90s Cause I Had My Daughter 😊
‘Love At First Sting’ was massive in 1984/1985. It’s my favorite Scorpions album.
I like Mathias's hidden bragging smile when he mentions that Bon Jovi were supporting the Scorpions 😊
Best rock band of the world! Scorpions Forever 🦂
Dieter Dierks really knew how to breathe life into Scorpions music ... Top notch album✌️😁
but stumbled big time on the following
I've been listening intently and rocking to the sound of Scorpions since Lonsome Crow in 72. Great to see my heroes discussing how LAFS was created. Seen you guys 3 time LIVE but I wish this was so many more.
These guys are GIANTS!
Still loving you is the best power ballad of all time in my opinion.
Had the privilege of attending the Scorpions in concert during their World Wide Live tour. What a great concert. Rock on guys!!
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
Seen this tour too! Little unknown band called Bon Jovi opened. Scorpions were amazing. Opened w 'Coming Home'.
YeH.. saw this tour in Philly .. remember thinking "who is this Bon Jovi group". Probably the time Matthias went to richies house as nentioned in this video.@macadoo2530
I'll never forget the first time I heard Coming Home got excited like I was at a concert.
Matthias Jabs should have shown how the intro of Bad boys running wild is done 😄
My first hard rock concert ever was in 1984. Scorpions in Charlotte with a new band named Bon Jovi opening. I had an absolute blast.
40 years since L.A.F.S! Can you believe that?
Time Has Flown By For Sure 😢
@@carolinelacourse6888 I still remember the day that I bought my first album in cassette. It was Scorpions "Best"! Around 1987-88. I was only 8 years old and I had to push my father so much in order to convince him. I bought my first Walkman as well that day. I still have both and I'm still loving the Scorpions!!!
Good times always do.
One of the best bands
My first acquaintance happened back in 85, when as a teenager I listened to the original cassette - a collection of ballads in my Walkman player and this unforgettable musical impression remained with me for the rest of my life, words cannot describe it, thank you.
Love At First Sting is a great album...really the moment the Scorpions truly arrived in the States. Coming Home is a gem. This tour was actually my first concert. Love it that they opened with Coming Home. Great hearing this story from the band themselves. Scores forever!
Still loving the Scorpions.💕 Simply the best.
Excellent video on the best Rock band scorpions 🥁🥁🥁🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎤🦂🦂🦂 still one of the best rock band scorpions forever
Fantastic!!
@@amangogna68 definitely amazing band scorpions forever 🎤🦂🦂🦂🎸🎸🎸🎸🥁🥁
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
I am a hardcore Journey Fan and a class admirer of Steve Perry, who is The Best To Me!
However, my #1 song of all time is from this album!
STILL LOVING YOU BAYEBAAAEEE!!!
Happy 40th Love at First Sting! Great album, great band! Long live Scorpions!
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
"Out in the streets, dogs are on the run, cats are all in heat." How can you go wrong with lyrics like that??!
And English is their second language!
@@2damnoldforUtube That's actually part of their charm, I'd say! Oh, and I love how they are so politically incorrect lol.
When my sister and her friends bought this album to our house I was sold. This was what make me fall in love with Heave Metal / Hard Rock. This made me go by my first piece of Vinyl (except for a kids story telling I got as a little kid) World Wide Live... I still have it and two more copies... Im my studio WWL and LAFS are framed on each side of my monitor...
I remember the day I bought this CD! I loved it! I remember hiding it so my dad wouldn’t see the cover! Haha! My favorite album of all times! Thank you for talking about each song!
Scorpions are the best!
My first concert, love at first sting tour, Worcester MA centrum….Bon Jovi opened. Never looked back, total scorps, ufo, msg, Schenker, Uli Roth!
Me too!👍
Matthias has been one of my guitar heroes since I was 10 years old in 1984. I love this band still
Love at First Sting is pretty much a perfect album (IMO).
My favorite album ever, along with 'Tokyo Tapes', 'Lovedrive' and 'Blackout'... These was the albums that i heard on my life!
Tokyo tapes won't no joke
This was my first album from the Scorpions back in 1984, when I was 14. To this day, I still enjoy listening to it over and over again, and it reveals every time some nice memories.
This album is a Masterpiece ❤
the moment new wave of British heavy metal was eclipsed by the newer wave of German heavy metal🤘🏻👍🏻
Wonderful Scorpions happy 40th anniversary love it ! ✨❤️🔥🦂🤟🏻
Legendary
I love you Scorpions!! I first saw you live on the Blackout tour with Girlsschool & Iron Maiden, I think it was. It was at the Heck Ed Pavilion (Seattle). I had just turned 20 years old. I remember being blown away by Herman's massive drum riser that raised up like 30 or 40 feet!! It was a great show! I also saw you in Bangkok every time you came. I love all your records, but my favorite is "Face The Heat." Killer riffs, tones and loved Herman's drumming and drum sound. Thanks for all the great music guys! Hope to see you again.
I was there on your first tour of America! Matthias couldn’t even speak English well. But we communicated ! Met you all in Cleveland Ohio . Caught you like 6 more times that tour
OMG - Rory got a mention @03:02.....class
Happy 40th anniversary!
My Favorite Rockalbum. This music is timeless. I saw them last year, and it was great!
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
Love the behind the scenes from the I’m Leaving You music video. That was a favorite when I was a teenager! 😅
Cool! This album is my favorite from Scorpions, and it released on my birthday, when I was 4! Now I'm 44 and still rocking like a hurricane!
This album change my life . Perfect all the songs!
Still loving you means alot for me even now! Was listening to this song over and over again 😅
Scorpions the best, Tokyo tapes, animal magnetism, love at first sting, and with uli back in the day.
I love scorpions❤❤❤❤
Ahhh High school days!❤🤘
The album cover is one of the best of the era.
It would never fly today with all of the wokeness we've got going on today
Yeahhh…. Glad we lived the better life in our youth
Wow, I haven´t heard this album in so long, but after playing it so much back in the late 1980s after becoming a fan, I still remember every note of every song. And what a way to close an album!
Scorpions will forever be my favorite band in the world. I used to listen to ”Still Loving You” with my dad, in the car, when we took long trips. I hope you guys will continue to rock us like a hurricane until the day you pass (which will have to be very, very far from now). I LVOE YOUR VOICE, KLAUS MEINE!
Scorpions are a very deep part of the soundtrack of my life. Rock On Gentlemen!
I will never forget this concert in 84'. Was the best I had ever been too. Thanks for the incredible memories.
I seen you in Phoenix Arizona for the first time. 1985 world wide live tour. A great show, have seen you since.
Matthias solos outshined on this album Rock You Like a Hurricane and I'm leaving You guitar solo tones are just perfect, you can feel the sharpness on it its feels like it could cut a paper
Still a fantastic album 40yrs later....
Супер!!! Дай бог им здоровья!!!❤❤❤
Bllackout will always be my favorite Scorps album all time. Dynamite and Arizona for me.
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
Happy 40th sting!🤘🦂🫶🏻🍻✌️
A band that is second to none! Ever! 🔥🤘💀🤘🔥
I love you Scorpions ❤🇧🇷🤘
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
This was great, so glad they are still around to give us fans the insight and inspiration to their songs.
SCORPIONS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I was blessed to see this tour, been a scorpions fan from the first time i ever heard them, keep it coming as long as you can. Fan 4 ever!
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
I have waited this for long time. And finally they did it
This album is epic! I really like hearing the discussions about the inspirations, design, production, all that technical details Please if you could make more videos like this!!! I enjoy hearing, not just the music, but how the music was produced. I have always been around pro audio gear and worked the sound boards for live sound at churches and I have a home studio with synths for fooling around in, so I understand mostly what you're talking about, and videos like this are teaching me, inspiring me, and answering questions about how your music that I've adored for decades were made. ❤🦂🎼
EVEN THOUGH I'M A PUNK ROCKER AT 53 YEARS OLD, I ALSO GREW UP WITH METAL MUSIC, GOTH, AND NEW WAVE, ON MTV GENERATION 1980S, THE BEST DARN ERA,....IN THE 80S IN HIGH SCHOOL AT MAGNOLIA HIGH SCHOOL IN ANAHEIM CALIFORNIA I ALSO HAD METAL FRIENDS GOTHS, SURFERS, SKATERS, MODS, SKINHEADS, NEW WAVERS, AND PUNKERS,.......UP THE SCORPIONS MAN, JUDAS PRIEST -TURBO ALBUM RULES TOO,...AS I WRITE THIS I'M LISTENING TO THIS ALBUM .....MARIUS(PUNK RULES).
It doesn't matter what background you have. Scorpions has ment a lot for all of us during plenty of years ❤🤘
I'm 57 and also from Orange County, CA. I still listen to the Scorpions today in heavy rotation with many other bands. The 80s were such a great time period for rock music
Great to see you had a wide range of music influences. 🍺🍻👍🤘🤘
Im a bigger metal head now at 57 then I was back then! Boy, us 45-50ish rockers are sure different than 50 yr olds back in the day!
My first scorps album! God bless you! Jesus saves sinners!
Scorpions,the best,Klaus voice is so powerful ❤❤❤
Love it! Can't wait to see you guys in Las Vegas in a couple weeks!! 🤘😍
What a great documentary on the album. That album always takes me back like a diary to the summer of 84. I was 19 it became one of my anthem, diary albums.
Oooops...I felt 19 but it was the summer I turned 21.
Class! Those men still look like it's 1984! Bring on the summer tour 2024 🦂
"Love At First Sting" is a milestone in my life, I was very young and I was going to a birthday show in a supermarket in my neighborhood, that's when I saw the Banda Scorpions playing live for the first time on TV at Rock In Rio 1985, at that moment something happened, I can't explain it, so I went to the event and I was lucky and met the most beautiful girl at the party called Samanta, it was a magical night... The next day I went to a record store and bought this vinyl! my first Scorpions album 👊👊👊
i remember this album very well, i had just turned 16, one of the best ever!
What an iconic album & band… 😮
I have been a fan since the first listen Rock On
A special episode on our show to celebrate the record will also be released on Wednesday ;)
Yesss!! 🤘
Love at first sting is one of the best rock album of the 80's
Those were the Good Old Days♥️🤘🏻🇨🇦
Very well made video! This Album is my favorite album of all time! Forty years later and it is still being played regularly in my house and in my truck. It is rare to find an album where every song is a gem. This album is what music is all about!
One of the best shows of 1984. I saw them in a local arena. Mattias Jabs during a very short break disappeared behind an amp (I saw what he did back there....LOL....) and after he was done, he was on top of the amp. He jumped down and rolled his ankle, but kept playing. Consummate showmen. It was loud, the sound was close to perfect being that loud. Tickets were 13 bucks. I just checked out a seat for the Doobie Brothers and Steve Winwood in Cincinnatti, 240 bucks a copy. WOW, times have changed.
LAFS was a huge part of my teenage years, Im a huge Scorpions fan to this day, Im in my 50s ..
Loved the album! My favorite album cover of all time. Still loving the Scorpions!
A sometimes forgotten 80s hard rock band with some classic music!!!
Matthias Jabs is very Awesome and Cool guitar player in Rock history , love him on Riffs he is Amazing on guitar love the Scorpions always and forever
Wonderful way to start my day! ❤❤❤love & mad respect for this band! May 1 Vegas! I am soo excited!
So many great hard rock bands, love them all, but doesn’t anyone have more fun than the Scorpions???? Rock You Like A Hurricane!
Klaus Meine is a vocalist who has never changed throughout history and even now he still has the sting in his vocals Klaus you are the best🤟🏻🤟🏻
Been ridin the coat tails of this band since the mid/late 70's an been In Trance ever since. Almost 50 yrs of ear candy and still listen to them everyday. Literally my favorite band for a half century... crazy when I think about it...🙏
Love this album. Adore all of you.
A classic for sure. I remember blasting this album just about anytime I was home alone.
