Directorist Plugin with dList Theme Review - Three Reasons To Stay Away!

- Simply put, the Directorist Plugin for WordPress to build a business directory seemed like a nice option. But my last 6 months of waiting and testing has left me no closer to getting a working site up.
The version 7 release has been a disaster to say the least. First released on March 1, 2021 and after almost 4 months after the release, it is no closer to being stable or useable.
What's even more concerning is the direction of the team to add new integrations with more complex plugins like Buddy Boss.

It’s a good plugin. Yes those are issues but the support team fix them quickly.
I have had good response from the team in their FB group. They did mention the Plugin works fine, but the dList theme had the major issues that I ran into using version 1.12.
I was told v1.13 is coming soon, so we'll see if they do proper testing before release and give a stable product to begin with.
I am not convinced they can fix issues quickly. It's been 4 months and many users have mentioned it has destroyed their community sites. So, very hesitant to recommend this any more like I did few months back.
Please help. Can you advise how to contact support team as I dont have Directorist login details having taken over content management of a Divi Wordpress site wiht Directorist Dlist plugin from someone who is no longer around. The search function in the directory to find a category or specific listing is not working abd thus makes the directory a little useless? Please point me in the right direction. Anyone?
@@ellevan9743 hey. You would have to get that login details. You are going to face many problems without it. Normally you put through a ticket for support on the dashboard.
@@ellevan9743 also contact them on their website. Contact us page and maybe do a “other”question. They might be able to help you get your login details.

I have looked at GeoDirectories and Directories Pro which are much more mature and meet my need for 'mult-directory' setup.
GeoDirectories has this add-on for custom post type (CPT) which is more robust and follows best practice, unlike Directorist hackish way of creating multi-directory and categories.

You should have a channel WordPress developers on blast like this. I see at least RUclipsrs saying to to buy this crap with their affiliates code. Fully knowing these problems exist. Thank you for being honest. 👍🏾

I believe that might be the best approach. Not install dList and just use the core plugins and add-ons. Yes, will take more effort to setup and polish up the design but it might be more stable in the long run. I will wait couple more days and see if a new version of either core or dList comes out, and test things out further.

Alternatively, Directories Pro is pretty inexpensive, and I will probably pick that up and do a test.

i am looking on creating a multidirectory i'm looking at geodirectory and the other you mention.
I have purchased wcfm but i'm told i need to buy another plugin for the geodirectory , but no idea how geodirectoy or the other you plugin you mention to integrate with wcfm, any honest thoughts would be much appreciated......thanks again
