I literally just picked up a 13 ISF in black to owner 60 K miles. Got the deal of a lifetime got it for 32,000. Super mint and drives like new fucking love it
I bought my 2011 obsidianblack isf last August with 68k miles for 35k Came with wheels and sikky V1 headers and a really really nice sub system in the back that takes very little space
Yes I had a tarius svo.. it was pretty bad ass for it’s time.. I had a few bolt on and would keep up with so of the 5.0 fox body’s depending on there mods.. so yes I agree ☝️👌
*Some corrections* - the ISF block/engine is made by Toyota and from an LS460. Now... the heads are manufactured, engineered, and tuned by Yamaha for flow and sound. Yamaha is primarily known for their pianos hence why they are always used in automotive acoustics. Yamaha also helped tune the exhaust for the LFA!
Exactly why my brother was so excited when i started working for yamaha motor! I knew about the 1j and the 2j as well as the LFA but i was surprised when i got a tour and they showed me the ford SHO engines but on boats! Theres also a secret division where they just create stuff and i made friends with one of the engineers my 3rd week in i had no clue. So far this job has been a blessing. Its dope when im fixing a computer and i notice a HKS turbo sitting on someones desk or supercharger just casually. I wish i could show you guys!
I would argue (probably unsuccessfully) that the Yamaha SHO V6 is their biggest flex. To get 220 NA HP out of a V6 in 1989 was as impressive as Subaru getting 270+ turbo HP out of those boxer 4 bangers. It just wasn't possible at the time. Most V8 trucks in the early 90s sat between 200-230 HP
A lot that is due to bogus emissions tech from the 70's to the late-80's, which choked the power and caused underwhelming performance, especially in V8 engines.
Dead ass. If Yamaha made their own line of vehicles, I wouldn't be driving Nissans right now. They were content with building engines, bikes, and......pianos.
Drove an ISF for a day years ago . Definitely a special car, the look, the exhaust visual character sound, torque converter locks and shifts sound like a DCT, very RAW experience out of all the 2UR-GSE cars. I have a IS500 , great engine when just cruising, chassis feels premium , composed , suspension is too soft when I’m doing expressway interchange s bends and loops at 80-100mph. Suspension so soft it’s unsettling when absorbing bumps mid corner. Other than that needs to be louder. IS500 stock exhaust is too muffled for me.
Yea they only made like 86 right? I saw a 2012 ISF pearl white for sale in texas with 17k miles for 49k before taxes and titles. Wanted 12k down Due to loan to value. I just went and got a 23 IS500 and called it a day.
Nice one. Keep as long as you can. (Fellow is-f owner here) though I’m with RR 780 SC kit now. If you keep it all original. It’ll only go up in value. Too late for me, I beat the living snot out of mine. Not a single issue yet at 120k+ miles
I had a 88. Ugliest t birds in history lmao. Found on my gfs property under a tobacco barn she didn't even kno it was there ! Put a bettery in it , it cranked and ran good. Although it had the 5.0 in this one. It was super slow with the 4 speed trans. Was fun tho donuts on command
It’s usually Yamaha doing the head work. He also missed they helped design the 4AGE which is in the AE86 1983-87 Corolla last rwd generation and it’s what made the 86 legendary and why we have a frs/brz and gr86 today! Drifting wouldn’t be around without the ae86!
@musoui yeah I got mine at the time of the messed up market about a year and a half ago. I paid $45,000 but I really liked the color combo and mileage.
I love mine, not insanely fast, but a solid daily driver that sounds amazing😊 Not a huge aftermarket choice but hey 😂😅 Stock for stock a very fun car and chasers love my taillights 😆
Nice to see I got Lexus RC Fsport it came with a 5.0 V8 it’s sounds incredible with the titanium exhaust straight pipe nothing else I also made it so my air intake is shielded so air going in was 45 degrees it’s sounds great and light tune and it said 467hp but mine tested with stock it was closer to 480 then just exhaust bumped it to 497 then air intake and light tune is now 550 if I put more then I’d have to do internals etc but this is perfect for myself one thing with newer Lexus and Toyotas even putting a remote start is a cluster fk sets my alarm off sumtimes then of course won’t work sumtimes now Lexus installed lmfao so keep in mind electronics can make your Toyota or Lexus go haywire so I took it out now cars fine and it only came rwd so I’m thinking of trying to make it Awd I mean it has the room for it cuz the 350 is same everything but with a 3.5 v6 I that in GS f sport I’m in Boston we get enough snow that I’d never try driving in a rear wheel drive shit will be all over the road
I agree Yamaha makes some great engines and they sound dope but Im gonna go against the grain here a little bit...Infiniti is BMW's biggest archrival (especially from Japan). The 1st car Infiniti made to rival a BMW was the Infiniti G20 sedan. The Infiniti G20 came with either a single turbo SR20DE engine or was naturally aspiritated and was a competitor to the BMW 3 series at that time.
I love the ISF but as someone who has tried to build a 3UR, there just isnt enough aftermarket support to make these cars a viable contender which is why you dont see them on race scenes often. They sound amazing but they are SLOW. You could never get the type of hp from the UR series that you can get from a 4.8 gm engine
Well there is probably less than 5000 of them in the states nowadays, and with only 11k produced worldwide it’s unfortunately only natural aftermarket won’t be great as there’s only so many potential customers/cars you could even develop product for. Even the companies that do make shit for F cars get away with unreal fucking pricing bc of this. Just getting headers for these fuckers you’re out nearly $3k minimum after tax and shipping. And even though the GS AND RCF also use the same engine the bolts on stuff is rarely compatible between the two. There’s a few boosted ones out there pushing 7-800 but they are few and far between and no doubt spent a fortune to get there. Even as an ISF owner I agree they can be seen as slow when compared to competition and price to performance ratio… I just wanted something quick that you don’t see on the road everyday. To this day only F car I’ve seen irl is the one I own haha.
You're absolutely right. This Yamaha/Lexus collaboration is legendary.
I literally just picked up a 13 ISF in black to owner 60 K miles. Got the deal of a lifetime got it for 32,000. Super mint and drives like new fucking love it
I just copped a 14 for same mileage.
I bought my 2011 obsidianblack isf last August with 68k miles for 35k
Came with wheels and sikky V1 headers and a really really nice sub system in the back that takes very little space
Enjoy it man. I got rid of mine at 180k miles and got the RCF. Beast cars
Bro, you are one lucky fuq 😂
Well all of you are some lucky mofos
Ford knew about Yamaha. Hell, have you ever heard a Pianist play a Yamaha GC Series or SX Series or CF Series Grand piano?
Yes I had a tarius svo.. it was pretty bad ass for it’s time.. I had a few bolt on and would keep up with so of the 5.0 fox body’s depending on there mods.. so yes I agree ☝️👌
R6 is one of the best sound inline 4 sport bikes ever made!

I have a 2007 Volvo S80 V8 AWD. With 4.4l V8 built by Yamaha. Sounds awesome with the muffler and resonator deleted.
@@thebigokie6.4_392Yes. Those V8 Volvos are Yamaha!
The block is Toyota…the build is Yamaha
@@Me-dh8cf no. The 2UR first came out in the Lexus LS500H
@@Me-dh8cfLS600H
That 21 Savage analogy was spot on.
Can you imagine if Yamaha actually made there own cars with there own engines be insane
Unfortunately they dont have the R&D money for that. I don’t think they should. But i wish more car companies worked with them.
Its not just direct injected. It has port injectors too. 16 total.
I could’ve sworn a BMW’s arch enemy was reliability
Goat comment

If you don’t mind me asking, are you in the automotive engineering industry?
@josiahademiluyi4677 yeah, but I just work on their computers. IT related stuff.

Damn this one's a real good story, loved the way you talked about Yamaha's involvement. This video a banger fr

My mans is doing true automotive history now. Keep it up bra
just picked up a 2014 Lexus ISF lol rarest ones to find.

Awww man! Im getting ideas for my 87 Thunderbird! Thanks @TBCG for all the great vids and super informative & entertaining videos

Don't forget the YAMAHA 1.8l 2ZZ-GE for 2000 GTS Celica,Corolla/Matrix XRS and Pontiac Vibe GT.
Spicy 🔥
How do you make some of the best grand pianos and engines in the world? 😂
This man just showed love to my dream daily. I plan on buying its younger brother soon, the IS500.
Big fan! Thank you for doing the IS F. Love my isf!!
when the isf first came to the uk they used to be called "mini lfa's" when they were seen on the road
Let’s not forget about the Yamaha 4.4L V8 used in the Volvo S80 you talked about several months ago
You broke this shit down soooooo cold I had subscribe...I already follow you on the gram by the way
Figures that an automotive company that also makes pianos would know a thing or two about sound quality and performance
My brother this video was great 👏🏽👏🏽
I remember driving one at the NY Auto show
Don’t forget about the RC-F which has the updated version of the 2UR GSE making 467 HP 398TQ
It is actually a re-design to become a high-revving V8 with higher compression, forged pistons, bigger throttle body, lighter internals etc.
1:40 the only thing that could even come remotely close would be the carerra gt. But that v10 whine on the LFA is just pure art.
LFA's weak, Gallardo V10 is better
@aftrnoon_ac it may very well be. But that sound coming from the LFA is unmatched by the Gallardo. Just sounds way better
Big fan keep doing your thing bro💯💯💯
I had 2 friends that had one at different times, awesome car super fun to drive
Finally, he talks about the 2URGSE
I owned a SHO. You're correct, and it behaved like a 2 stroke dirt bike with the powerband💯
Thank you 🎉
I bought my 2011 isf for 15k with 167k miles from a good friend of mine. It's my first sport cart and I absolutely love the thing

Bravo sir

Seattle has a gang of this
Back in the early 90s the Taurus sho some came with Yamaha motors the redline went to 9k I believe
The sign for Yamaha is tuning forks for music
It was never quick around the track. In fact, one of the biggest criticisms of this car was how incredibly slow it was at the track for its price tag
Yamaha also helped make the 3sgte if im not mistaken
Used to the that car and i mssed it dearly… i totalled and saved my life.. now i have the RC F…

Show us how to build the Ford 460 7.5L V8
It’s basically a Japanese hellcat/demon since it puts out a lot of power, but it’s as heavy as the moon
Miss my SHOs, they SCREAMED on the top end.
Yamaha makes Drum Sets too

Not all hero heroes wear capes but when they do they have Yamaha logos on it 😂😂…. I died laughing at that

Great, now do the IS 500
And the SHO was a late 80s or early 90s car
A dude in one of these gt mad and kick my Bimmer at the light. Didn’t end to well for him.
Truth
Fact the GS & GSF 2013 up are larger versions of the ISF 💪🏾🤘🏾
And being a full sized luxury sedan they barely hit 4000lbs curb weight.
Where!?
Lmao 😂 Mariah Carey on a perk 30 😂😂😂😅😅😅
RS4 is the M3s main opp
Didn’t Yamaha make the engine in the c4 zr1?
Yamaha also built the ZR1 Engine in the 90's
That might have been Mercury Boat motors
If you want to hear a nasty ISF, go listen to mine.
Yamaha makes fighter jets for the military and so does Mitsubishi dig that
There’s plenty in Houston for sale. They’re not worth the money though
The last Lexus to be made with a Manual Transmission.
That was the is250 only.
@@muffinlion6299 I know they look similar
