      @@patrickakherematthew4910 I didn’t mention any names for this very reason. Narrow minded people thinking everything revolves around that girl. If anything I’m happy she’s representing her country and not SA. That’s what I also wanted. But truth is there are alot of Queens who don’t even live in the countries they represent. Didn’t even compete for the crown but were HAND PICKED. Which is so unfair. That one from green white and green country at least found the competition still on. Some countries didn’t even hold competitions.
      Educate yourself please. We have moved on from her drama. It’s honestly OLD NEWS. Nobody cares about that drama anymore. Keep up with the times sir. KEEP UP‼️
      We are on the WORLD STAGE now.. talk to me about relevant people.

    This rule 😮
    In South Africa, one is not a South African citizen just by being born there. One of your parents must at least be a citizen.
    Again, one can be born in a particular country, even while their mom is on a short visit there & go settle in another country the next DAY, and know nothing about their birth country. Can they still represent a country they don’t identify with?

  • @kimberleyijsbrandij7985
    @kimberleyijsbrandij7985 16 дней назад +2

    Although I totally agree with the reasoning of this new rule I have my doubts. Living in a multicultural society myself I'm nervous for the girls born in their parents county but moved to another when they were 1, 2 or 3 years old and lived there for almost their entire lives. Or girls born on vacation abroad.
    They have been residents of the same country for over 15+ years, own a passport of the country they live in and identify with that country.
    With this rule some girls could never participate since their country of birth has a regional selection before they can compete in the national finals and one of their rules is that you have to live in that area. (There are some exceptions of course, I understand)
    To exclude the opportunistic behavior and make the Miss Universe dream possible for most women, wouldn't it be better to change the new rule to "needs to have a passport of the country they want to represent AND live in that same country for a minimum of 15+ years"?
    I'm just thinking out loud so please don't feel offended or judge me. I mean well. 😅

    I fully support the new directive; however, I would like to correct you. Victoria from Miss New Zealand is a Filipino-Kiwi, born in Auckland, New Zealand, so there is no issue with her representation. If she were representing the Philippines, there might be some concerns, similar to the situation Catriona faced with Australia. This is also the case with Christina from Great Britain, who was born in Dunblane, United Kingdom. The main issue here is cross-national representation, which they are trying to minimize to prevent future complications. I am on board with this approach, as it allows us to send homegrown representatives. In the Philippines, "halfies" are more common than in other countries; however, they should ideally be born here rather than elsewhere. I suggest doing thorough research first. (I fixed the grammar)

    • @GNUAccordingCD
      @GNUAccordingCD  16 дней назад

      Thank you so much for the correction, accepted. However, I feel it's opportunistic of them to take advantage of their double nationalities as this doesn't show patriotism on the country they were born and raised in. I accept the information, and I am thankful for it🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

  • @isaacgabrahams
    @isaacgabrahams 16 дней назад +4

    I cannot agree with whole heartedly with this new rule. It will discriminate unfairly towards people who have become legally a citizen of a country and has made that country her home. Rather it should say a person born in the country or a legally naturalised citizen who was living in that country for a certain number of years and have her adopted country at heart. That is easily proven as we saw with the participant who was kicked out of our local peagant as she clearly did not identify as being a South African at heart with her social media posts. The rule should also state clearly that if a person do not make it as a participant in her adopted country she is automatically disqualified by going to her country of birth to participate there.

      So you don't want people like her to represent your country. You also don't want her to represent any other country. I'm trying to understand why you guys are like this. Why are you guys so spiteful?

    • @samb3303
      @samb3303 16 дней назад +1

      @tok1879 if she was legal in SA there would be no problem for her to represent SA. But her parents committed identity fraud so no, not allowed in SA. Furthermore, she wouldn't have won Miss SA anyways. She couldnt even win or make Top 3 in any of the crown chaser challenges 🙈🤷

      @@samb3303 Do you understand that a child doesn't choose into what situation they're born into? Would you deny her having a dream because of the situation she was born into? Are her dreams not valid?
      Besides that, let's even assume for a second that she was actually legal in SA. Would your people truly be ok with a Chidimma Adetshina representing them? Again what do you guys gain from being like this?

      @@tok1879 Its not about the name, SA has had people born of a South African and another nationality represent them since the beginning of time. They are legally South African and their name has never been questioned. This case was different it had nothing to do with a name, someone smelt a rat and the rat was exposed. Why cant you just accept that those are the facts and stop using this name thing as an excuse to condone a crime.
