Anything loud, big and heavy with an engine is a cool thing. 😁 The real surprise is the 1050 for me, I would have bet on it not pulling that at all. I have it struggling in our real heavy and black dirt with a twelve bottom.
Can’t wait to hear summarise vid👍some tractors have surprised me but Mike does this mean you might change tractors or now have better understanding of what tractor should be hook up to different equipment you have? Imagine arriving at your new homestead in the middle of nowhere with not so much as a tree in sight and having 60 acres of the 160 covered in water. Doesn’t seem much like a promised land suddenly.
6:35 - you mean you´re getting Ashtyns tractor dusty ;) Cool that you decided to race it anyway, I think it did well considering it´s not even playing in its own league.
The 1050 Fendt did well for what it is but it definitely cant compete with the 3 tracked tractors. I'm excited to see the results and see the specs of them all.
Mike, was it just a matter of lack of time that you didn't hook up the air seeder and test that in the slough vs pro-till? Not plant, just pull it around, to see how it pulled.
I think Mike's seeder & cart is still hundreds of miles away but, I guess he could always hook up to one of his brothers outfits for the purpose of these tests.
I wonder about the time keeper.i think the jd two track might have had a time lag or extra second or two before stopping the time.depends on which tractor at heart he wanted to win.lol
I would love to have the option to own a fendt or claas but here in south Louisiana all we have is green and red, sucks. Sure I could buy a fendt but parts and service would be a headache
I thought I saw you make some manual adjustment in a drilling video to gain a half mph like setting it to 4% tire slip? (Or was it 4% over-speed on the font axle?) In any case I'm curious if it is more power and time efficient to run a narrow implement at high speed rather than a wide implement at low speed, of course the implements probably have some limiting max effective speed too but within that. I recall some old university studies that found the ideal efficiency speeds for some older style plows and it was faster than I expected, basically it took less fuel to go 5mph with one plow bottom than to go 2.5mph with two plow bottoms. In that soil type, with tires not tracks, etc) As I recall it was due to optimizing the % tire slip, but it was also an old study with smaller lower power equipment so I don't know if it would extrapolate to higher speeds. Similar was found for subsoiler shanks, there was an optimum speed where the soil fracturing absorbed the least power per foot traveled.

I guess in these conditions tracks are the better option. But when it comes to driving on a (gravel)road, wheels are faster. You did good Fendt 1050. But you lost to tracks.
I guess I’ll be that back seat driver guy and point out that the machine was at 1600+/- rpm. In my experience if you’re doing high speed high engine load tillage you need some higher RPM.
Another good idea for a shootout would be a 9rx vs 9r. Tracks vs tires.

But the horsepower isn’t exactly comparable but it would still be cool to see since he owns R, RT, AND RX

That big fendt 2 track makes 670hp but lost to the Deere 2 track that makes 100hp less because the Deere has more RPM
