Me too! There`s those who know and those who don`t! Lucky enough to have seen them twice so far. Heavy is an understatement, but beautiful and mesmerising at the same time.
Went to the Montclair show the other night and I intentionally didn't look at the setlist beforehand... I was standing maybe three or four metres away from Jens for most of the show. The excitement I had when they played Perpetual Black Second was immense. And then they dropped Humiliative later!??!? Literally the greatest concert I have ever been to.
Amen brother the Seattle show was epic too. The guy next to me didn’t know the set list either and I didn’t spoil the surprise especially adding Bleed back.:)
Aww come on man, half those people are high as a kite and can't feel their legs. If you have the stones to even show up to a Meshuggah show you one of my clan.
12:14…I love that little missed beat and recovery from Haake, which makes their usually utter flawless nature live even more mind boggling considering how complex their music is rhythmically. And to prove my point, they fucking owned Bleed this gig.
This show was my first time seeing them and it was damn near a religious experience. I was all floaty from In Flames and then this massive wall of sound crashed into my body. Absolutely extraordinary. I'll never pass up an opportunity to see this band.
The more I listen to Meshuggah the more I love the ending of Born in Dissonance starting at 23:35. I think it is one of the greatest achievements in metal. Look at that crowd, they are fucking frozen in pure bliss, even the pit grinds to a halt. God Damn I love this band.
I saw them on dec 3rd. These lights were so bright it was like HDR even in the nose bleed seats. Incredible performance. They were perfect live really shows they have been touring for decades.
Whoa, Thanks for this!! I was about 15 feet from Frederick. Posted the half of his Bleed solo through the end just for my own personal memories, but hey...
Humiliative was 🤯 not even officially released in the US I think..? Deeeeep cut lol thank you for making this vid I was too distracted to record anything. Was just out of frame bottom left. Brutal set.

@@paulfederal1217 yeah, metal shows don't usually sell out in advance here so wasn't thinking about it (sometimes they do day of or right before but not usually weeks before). hopefully next time they play a larger venue - Meshuggah at The Armory would be amazing.

First, THANK YOU for NOT posting STUPID VERTICAL VIDEO! No one knows how to PROPERLY record on the phone anymore!!! Vertical video sucks!!! That mic setup with all that AGC and compression, YUK! Sounds like a concert under water, thanks for the effort though, the memory still lives because of this! I was there too, great show!
Not a knock, but am I the only one hearing the bass drum in The Abysmal Eye being very sloppy? Sounds like the trigger gets triggered a few times when it shouldn't. If it's triggered. IDK.
@@MaynardsSpaceship hOw WoUlD yOu Be AbLe To WaTcH tHiS vIdEo? By being at this show already? What if 3 people had their phones filming instead of 150? We'd still have amateur footage of the show and I wouldn't have a bunch of screens blocking my view while on the floor. PS I didn't search for this, it came up on my feed.
I have mixed feelings about this. I do find it distracting/annoying when folks are holding their phones over their heads in front of me. I also agree that I'm not enjoying the show as much if I'm worried about a recording. I like being immersed in the experience, especially with a band like Meshuggah. At the same time, I don't have the greatest memory, so a couple photos and/or videos help me to remember the experience. In this case, as should have been obvious from the video due to the fact that the view never changed (yes there were jitters from the bass and auto focus issues due to the lights), the camera was mounted and required no interaction from me. I was first row balcony on the rail, and the camera was mounted low with the screen off where nobody could even see it, let alone be annoyed by it. I paid the camera no attention and fully enjoyed the show. I wanted to record this because there are few (if any?) center cut videos on the internet that capture the band and the light show uninterrupted. Sure, there are professionally produced videos like Bloodstock and Summer Breeze, but I feel like they don't capture the experience because they constantly change camera angles and add effects. The guys in Meshuggah aren't getting any younger, so since I had an opportunity to record it without bothering other folks and without interrupting my experience, I thought I should capture it. My hope was/is that it will give some joy to those that couldn't make it (the show was sold out) and inspire people to go see them if they haven't already.
@@arcadeshift5071For most other bands I'd agree with you, but Meshuggahs light show is too cool to not have the memory of it. I'll watch my recordings every now and then. Every other band I've seen I usually just take a picture or two.
I was about 20 feet from the stage. Greatest experience of my life! I can die a happy man now.

They did it grand rapids also.
Montreal too lol

Careless Whisper seems to be a standard pre-show song for Meshuggah shows these days..
