This happened because of the extreme hot weather we have been experiencing. Hot weather taxes refrigeration systems and ambient air temps in processing areas can get higher than recommended. This can allow the bacteria to take hold whereas it wouldn’t normally if temps were normal.
I work at publix and got listeria from there. Had to miss most of a month.Felt like i was dying and spending money i don't have on ER plus other DR.'s. When I came back we had a new manager who would not accept the Dr. notes and told me when I asked for my days back that what i earned working there has nothing to do with her. I had 5 days she's only giving me 1 to 2 day a week. As an middle age man who has bills that's messing with my livelihood. And she tried to bully me with a talk about how shes raised by an Army guy. Trying to say i should of worked with my virus . I did try 2 days ,but when you feel like death and from the place you work, it's hard. But had the pleasure to tell her i'm raised by a Marine and Nam Vet so don't even begin to talk to me about tough love and hard working . She did not like that and now is not giving me any days forcing me out. But she's going to be shocked because I have a great lawyer working with HR now. She and publix are in for it. Publix does not care about there employees or customers.
If you put hot food/beverage into the fridge, it raises the temperature inside. In areas where the ambient temp goes above 40 degrees Fahrenheit, that's the "temperature danger zone" at which bacterial growth happens rapidly.
That’s a myth so yes, please educate yourself about all the misinformation passed off as medical science. Processed meats do not cause cancer or heart disease.
It was just the liverwurst but they closed the entire Virginia plant as a precautionary measure and recalled all items made in that plant. Media never gets it completely right unfortunately.
@@USAMPK It was the ham as well I work at publix and got listeria from there . When the news of the outbreak happened publix put the meat on sell to make what they could before pulling it. probably because of the real DEI; Deregulating Every Industry. Safety regulations are regularly abused where industrial meat processing happens. Remember recently when it was revealed that slaughterhouses in the Midwest were illegally hiring migrant teens from Central America with falsified documents? And it was their duty to clean heavy machinery with toxic chemicals? That is how this happens. Eat less processed foods.
Its not though 😂 they didnt report the full whole. Just a brief. The CDC website literally states its boars head cold cuts. And if you google almost every site will tell you. I dont know why they didnt include that in the story.
You just need to stay away from "Bore Head" branded products. Don't worry too much about not having the eat meat, But I'd still be cautious if I were you.
@danskdna8550 I thought that was funny thanks you made me laugh I don't know but if you don't have or can't eat cold cuts now there are other options I don't have coldcuts on a regular basis so I make egg salad peanut butter jelly and tuna salad and chick pea spread too and pack these sandwiches with ice packs if needed
Damn hell with the listeria, boars head ham $13.49 a lb. I’m paying no more than $8.99. Sometimes it’s on sale 6.99 a lb. What sucker is paying that much
A lot of wealthy people pay that much. I'm not wealthy but I worked in a suburb for 16 years where a turkey sandwich costs up to $12.00 for a simple sandwich and the kids all buy them for that much with chips and drink. They spend about $20 on their lunches every day.
@@dmgfoto4508 makes sense I live in the hood. I get a hero boars head extra turkey extra ham and American cheese lettuce tomato and mayo and I’m paying $8.50 and I tip the guy $1. Way better than subway where it’s $12 for that order with barely any meat

The title should be "Not quite everything you need to know. Just some of it."
Boars Head is the only brand I trusted. 😢
Yep same here
So much for that, eh? Goes to show, extravagantly high prices do not always equal quality.
@@maryannjesuino9882 that London broil always hot the spot
Wont be buying Boars Head in the future. Matter of fact will not buy cold cuts any time in the future.
From what I’ve learned it was only the liverwurst that was effected, all the other meats weren’t, just what I heard

How is your freezer or fridge high temperature?

processed meats will get you in the long run anyway....so this is an opportunity to educate the folks
none of that stuff tastes good enough to risk colorectal cancer
Darwinism at it's most subtle.

can you get the report as to where and why this happened to 7 million pounds of meat and they also said you can get sick 10 weeks later.

With stand high temperature like a fridge or freezer!?. WTF
She's just slow...
So no new info on the outbreak… just the same info about what it is and what it does.
Yeah 😅
How does this happen? And how is this like all deli meats across the board?
I think they are probably worried about cross contamination and maybe still trying to identify the source(s)
Time to get those pots and pans out folks, it's time to start cooking home cook meals again
