Personally, I think it would have looked better to trace a smooth curve around the borders of the walkway, and let the board overhang the supporting trim. It would have created a more floating effect, and had much smoother curves. That's just my opinion anyway, great build though!
I know I'm 2 years late, but I googled raised wooden deck and you showed up first. Aside from Home Improvement with Jane, you explain things and show them so well. Thank you for the inspiration
The small piece you had to do is the area where you could have started the project by laying out the first board as a custom fit to the original deck and then continue on to the end of your pathway. Another option is to see if they sell a 2x6 or wider board to give you the material you needed and custom cutting that board to tie the pathway and deck together. Nice look either way. I’m betting very few will ever notice.
What we do to get rid of the real small pieces at the end of a deck is install a double ripper. If you rip the second to last board in half, your final piece will be much larger and easier to fasten, and just look cleaner.
Nice quality build, thanks for the Tuff Blocks introduction as I’ll have to check those out. The reciprocating saw for roots and trim router for the deck boards saves the most time and are a couple of go to’s I use. 👍🏼
Murpjy beds have several other designs built into the wall and others that form into couch and desk. Three in one furniture takes up minimal space and lasts forever. The best ideas here include the fold into the wall stairs and Bookcase room doors. RV design for the bed adds space offers privacy yet not enough seating. Would modify to include seating during the day. Interesting video offers some options for single bedroom apartments.
Can you see the shinny black tape thru gaps? Can you resolve that in some way? Will look for different colors. Paint wont stick to it….maybe a primer. Love that tip. Love that you do NOT shortcut anything. Good on ya and cute pup!!
I looove your videos. You're sooo good at showing all the steps, and your voiceovers are mesmerising. The mulch finalizes the walkway beautifully. Your attention to detail is superb 👌👌 I would add some cute lanterns or under-walkway lights to make it all glow at night. Thanks for sharing your fantastic videos!
Oh those blocks are intriguing. Would they work for other types of applications, say under a shed? Construction adhesive for that small piece? There are some that are like epoxy just a thought. I need to redo my decks this is amazing.
Yep I have seen them used for small shed foundations. This walkway is rock solid and I'm sure a shed would be just as good. And YES i might just add a little construction adhesive to the mix :)
I just discovered your channel. I’m super excited. I love the walkway. I have never worked with that decking….so the ends you cut do not need any treatment correct?!?
Why didn't u just span with the 2x4 really right off of the deck foot? OR sit 2x4 on top of 4x4 (or notch 4x4)? But at the end of the day the answer is “my deck or path” respect, it looks very nice.
I would've used a long piece of the board since it's flexible ...then put the metal guard and routed. That wouldve given you a 5/8 inch overhang. 🙈🤷🏼 But looks good otherwise.
I'm getting ready to build a deck. I have access to a bunch of free Zip System Flashing Tape. Do you think this would work in place of the G-Tape to save me a few bucks? Great video!
Hi, love the build! couple of questions! For the 2x4 supports I noticed you didn’t add pressure treating to the cut ends like you did for the risers, any reason for that? Instead of the waterproof tape is it possible to use a topical water proof suck as red guard? As for that little corner cut of decking could it have been possible to to screw it through the side into the adjacent structure? Or maybe a small pocket hole on the underside? Awesome work as always!
There is a fatal problem in the frame structure. The frame is nailed to the side of the little 4 x4 posts, but not on the top of the posts. That means all pressure is going to be on the nails. Poor design.
I want to stress to the man in this video to never ever never use a framing gun pointing towards your body at any time. That is asking for injury that will cost you multiples of what it would have cost you in labor to install this walkway.

Theres always that one chode..
Lol. Exactly what I thought.
Agreed.
It is beyond me why you made it all. Love "the overgrown path" a lot more. About the video: nice one!!!

Amazing walkway Brent!! Looks like Hank approved the final project!!!
HANK Approved for sure Mitch lol! Thanks so much for watching and all your support.

Congrats on the new addition to the fam! Hank is adorable! If every child grew up with a dog, I think the world would be a kinder place
I love this! Also, great job with giving precise enough instructions without making my ears bleed. 😊 Looks beautiful!
Beautiful. I like the meditation pose, too.😊🙏 Hank is adorable!😍😍😍

No problem my man and glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks so much for the support and keep up the great work on your channel.
This just saved me a HUGE amount of time and hassle on a project I've been putting off for over a year now... Nice!! :D

Great job my man. Hank stole the show though ☺️
Yep! Hank is going to be stealing a lot of shows in the near future haha!
Nice job, you forgot to add the obligatory led uplighters to come on at night. It would be beautiful lighting up the foliage on either side.
Well done Brent. You build things that look good and I know will last for a very long time. Very skilled.
I won't lie I think the mossy green look can also be cool in a more tropical garden when the boards age
also you had to put the small piece on first so you could screw from the side into the next board
Put walk lights along the sides. Or walk lights on the decking that fits flush. Great job! Hank probably enjoys the smooth surface.
Amazing idea! It wood look so good down that walkway with lights
Beautiful backyard. Beautiful walkway!
Awesome project! Hey Hank! Nice to meet you!

Cool project! I would fasten the small piece with som outdoorproof adhesive and clamped it until dry😃
That look good my guy! It’s amazing what a walk way will do to a space!
Смотреть на эту работу, одно удовольствие. Завораживает!)
Don't forget one must use galvanized nails when going into presser treated wood.
Looking forward to seeing more of Hank :)
Just gave me an idea for my next project.
Thanks for the inspiration.
great build , you should add some solar rope lights to each side of the walkway
I wonder if this would work on sandy ground? It looks great! And the puppy is adorable!
Thanks!
Wow! Thanks so much for the support Fred. Truly appreciated and glad the video helped.
Great job! Looks fabulous. ❤
Супер .👍спасибо за подсказки )
Smart very smart. I love it.
Nice job
Beautiful
Beautiful 😍
Very nice.
Thanks so much mark.
Way to go. So nice!!
Nice nature
Hi, amazing stuff. Whats the dewalt took you used at the end for trimming?

Глядя на ваш труд,пропадает страх что красоту трудно сделать.Знание и умение,какое вы показываете, превращают труд в лёгкий и приятный
I love your videos, im happy i found your channel
Is there a place to screw the small posts into the black plastic footers?
Beautiful job!!!
amazing
It's fantastic!

Love it beautiful 🇨🇾
Lovely
Amazing😊
Looks way bette! Any plans to have walkway lights?
I'm looking to build a very similar deck/path in my yard. Do you think I could push the width out to 48" with 2x4s, or would this span be too large?
At first glance, I thought this would be an Indiana Jones style rope bridge!!
How come you did not use trim on the edge as with the main patio deck?
We might down the road but I'm not a huge fan of how they trimmed out the deck in the first place so I'm looking at different options :)
Nice
How does your backyard look so different in every video ?
Nice content
I don't get how this won't move with the dirt changes, even with the rocks :o
You are great
Thanks so much for watching.
Trace a smooth carve
That’s a ton of work for a walkway

Roudy with the router 🤣
Why don't you do a feature with #Insider
I would've used a long piece of the board since it's flexible ...then put the metal guard and routed. That wouldve given you a 5/8 inch overhang. 🙈🤷🏼 But looks good otherwise.
Boom
POW!
The lines and cuts are killing my OCD
I like the look of wooden walkways, but all I can think of is, how many animals and bugs are going to make their home under it
👍
❤❤❤❤❤
like it but looks slippery
Muito bom 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks for wafching

Did you mean "plastic walkway" :)
Bud your audio levels are all over the place.
In what way? I work very hard on my audio and rarely get this comment. Happy to hear any suggestions.
The studio audio is much more clear than the on-scene audio. Would have preferred a 100% voiceover video.
Who wants to tell him?
That his Tuff Block link goes back to the Georgia Boot page?!
Lol yeah
Thanks SOOOOO Much for the heads up. it is FIXED! Here it is just incase you need it :) buildtuff.com/products/tuffblock

How we in Europe see Americans
to much gadget for simple job 🙄
Think with your head 🤯🤯
Все сгниет и все сначала!
It would have been nicer if you built the path over nature and didn't clear everything away
Not a fan of wood in wet ground. In ten years that wood is gonna be rotting.
