We always have at least one or two meals at the night market when we're in Sanur Krisna. Haven't gotten Bali Belly yet and love getting some dessert from the sweets lady on the way out. 10K for a bag of mixed treats, can't beat that. 👌👍

Hi Krisna, dragon fruit is grown all over south-east Asia, and even in Australia now.
We have both the red and white flesh dragon fruit, but I prefer the white ones as they're less messy to eat. 😊

What can I do to avoid Bali belly beside not eating? 😀 Is there a shot I can get that will act as defense?

I think there is a vaccination for Typhoid fever. I can't remember if it's a tablet or not. Besides that, the majority of problems is with salmonella. So only eat food that has just been cooked..nothing that has been sitting for a while. I remember when i first arrived to Indonesia 30 years ago and I got very sick. Fortunately I can eat anything now but I still avoid lele (catfish). It's usually raised in ponds with human excrement. Anything offal is also good to avoid like ati ampela and usus. Warteg & Warung Padang is not good for visitors because the cooked food sits around till people buy it. Though is it great food. I eat it regularly. Anything with ice or water (unless it's bottled) is apparently dangerous too. Hope this helps.

@@dalecollins-smith3551 thank you for the suggestions. I was in Bali in 2019 but only stayed 2 days so managed to stay healthy. I will be going back for atleast a month this time.

@@allenl9214 useful info @dalecollins-smith3551 gave you! I've been sick twice because of wedding buffet food (at least I think so) in Jakarta, so that's indeed food that had already been cooked before. Buffet in luxury hotels should be fine. I'm usually not touching salad either as you don't know whether the water they cleaned it with is safe. When I got the typhoid shot it was a vaccination. Maybe hepatitis A shot as well? Guess that can be spread through food... And some probiotics, start taking it before your departure, continue for a short while after getting back. Enjoy your holiday!
