    The No 5 was never used in the far east operationally during the war. the "jungle carbine" name comes from post war use in Malaya and other smaller conflicts.

      it was only issued during the war to Airbourne troops going to Norway on the assumption they would then go to the invasion of Japan, big reenactment fail there, when such a basic and huge mistake is made and so much made of it, it is hard to take anything else they say seriously.
