D colony I had this starting stage colony with 3 nantics which’s queen died so as a test I gave them a camponutus Herculanus queen and they accepted her but they were C. Modoc colony ,is that rare for them to take a different species queen?
I don't have an idea buddy, since I'm not familiar with the specific species and haven't done the same thing as well. What I've done so far is the brood boosting from different camponotus specie, which works well as long as both camponotus is under the same group.

You can use black light at night buddy, that would attract alot of insects including queen ants. Best to do it at night after a hot humid day.
