Love the videos. My problem with the micro guides are, I use slip bobbers and bobber stops. The tiny micro guides interfere with distance by excessively hitting the stop...reducing distance quite a bit...
I'm just getting in to rod Bildung and I figured whether I could use sewing thread for wrapping my guides? Can someone give me a tip if that would work?
not a good idea, there are a few diameters of thread type A and type D are most popular. I'm not sure but I think the strength is also different than standard thread.
Yes..I have used sewing thread on 2 of my fishing rod builds. You have to keep in mind the type of thread you are using (ex. polyester, nylon, cotton, silk, etc). All types of thread come in different thickness and you will have to adjust tensions differently. For polyester or nylon thread, I use a color preserver. I notice that sewing thread tends to fray and become dry rotted, if it's old. You'll just have to loosen the tension if it's dry rotted. After wrapping the guides and using a color preserver or glue then you can burn the (fuzzies).
I wonder if there is a way to build an extra ultralight rod for nanojig or even smaller and maximum casting weight is about 1.5 g .If someone knows knows how to build one please let me know .I can leave some examples rods : Favourite blue nano BB1- 602N-S 0.2-1.5 g 1.83,crazy fish nano zero and other rods for marmyshka .
Love the videos, Love the window frame shadows on the lake in daylight hours too!!!
Love your videos!
necro bump, but a 1x30 belt grinder makes suuuuuper quick work of guide dressing when you get used to using it.
I'll be in Orlando in December '21. I visited your old store, looking forward to seeing the new one. Great Videos and Products!
