    Do you think with a cylinder arm that you could have put the stabilizer on the front as well before construction?

  • @juleeellison9398
    @juleeellison9398 6 месяцев назад

    Kellie, I am putting together the sides … the exterior side to the lining … and my lining seams do not match the exterior lines at the bottom, so the corners are going to be impossible unless I Round the corners, cutting in more than 1/4”. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong.

    • @juleeellison9398
      @juleeellison9398 6 месяцев назад

      So I think the problem is that I sewed the bottom to the sides of the lining at 1/2” … so I just pulled all of the stitches and will redo it. Hopefully that 1’4” will help with my corners. (At this point I’m just talking to myself, so just ignore me. LOL)

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  6 месяцев назад

      The seams will not match at the bottom. The lining is cut smaller than the exterior so that it will fit snug. Just clip together the center and the top sides first, then ease in the rest.

    • @juleeellison9398
      @juleeellison9398 6 месяцев назад

      I’m not sure why, but I sewed the base to the lining sides at 1/4”, so that made it even smaller than it already was. I ripped the stitches and am redoing it. Just FYI, I love your voice and could listen to your tutorials all day … and the noise at your house is envious! @@sewfulcreations

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  6 месяцев назад

      It's strange that it would be smaller. I hope you can work it out. You can send me pics if you need to. And thank you! I always wonder how I sound to others, and there are nine of us in my house, so it's never completely quiet.😂❤️

    • @juleeellison9398
      @juleeellison9398 6 месяцев назад

      Well, I took the stitches out, then sewed it at 1/4” and now it is almost awkwardly too big. I’m guessing maybe my cotton stretched a little. Anyhoo, I’ll keep at it, and I’m sure I’ll have more questions. Back in the day I always said I wanted 8 kids, so your place gives me the warm fuzzies. @@sewfulcreations

    Boy oh boy. I finally got my supplies in, but my brain is just not jiving with the instructions. And the instructions say, for example, to cut 2 strap connectors (piece P), but you mention that your pieces have Decovil Lite on them but I don’t see that anywhere in the pieces/parts/instructions. I am trying to do all decovil so I can let them all sit for the night … so maybe you’ll see this and help me understand what I am missing. And … you mention Decovil Lite, but all I have heard so far is Decovil Heavy/Peltex/Kraft Tex … so the Lite threw me off too. Is it 5:00 somewhere yet? LOL

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  6 месяцев назад

      So sorry you are feeling confused. I used Decovil Light in place of the Kraft Tex. I should have noted that. I didn't like the results I was getting with Kraft Tex. I hope this helps you move forward. 🥰

    • @juleeellison9398
      @juleeellison9398 6 месяцев назад

      But on piece P I don’t see anywhere it says to use any stabilizer. And yours looked like it was offset to one side. (Between this and Facebook being drunk today, I feel like I’m drunk.) 😂

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  6 месяцев назад +1

      I didn't use piece P in the video. I used metal strap connectors. However, I did use them on the brown bag and I always stabilize my connectors as they support the weight of the bag and can tear over time. Not all designers will include it in the instructions, but this is mostly standard in bag making. Both types of connectos were centered on the side panels.

      Sorry, I didn’t even see that! 😊 I’m watching and trying to decide if the faux croc I want to use is too thick. I have a domestic flatbed, and I keep watching how you work yours to see if mine is much thicker. Lol

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  7 месяцев назад +1

      No worries! My vinyl was pretty thin. I would've liked it a bit thicker.

    Can this bag be made on a domestic machine?

    • @sewfulcreations
      @sewfulcreations  9 месяцев назад +1

      It can. That is why she designed it to leave the front stabilizer off until the end. I would not recommend using materials that are too thick and stiff.
