      So far, the fastest relief I get, is from drinking pedialyte; even though I also drink 96oz of water (minimum) I still suffer. I usually also do deep breathing to try and help the insane shaking and feeling like at any moment I’m gonna hit the floor hard. It typically takes about 30-45 mins to recover though.

    Hi everyone I hope you find my comment in the best of your health. Just wanted to share that I was also suffering from very low bp episodes almost in my daily routine no matter whatever I had to avoid it.. I tried several energy drinks and vitamins medicines as well but nothing benefits me much.. Then someone recommended me to have suji ka gur wala halwa in breakfast.. I also add some almonds and dried coconut in it..And trust me it really helped me beyond my expectations .. After that my bp started remaining much controlled then before.. So you can also try this.. I hope it benefits you as well ❤

    Good advice….however, just wanted to say that when you have a spinal cord injury…..low blood pressure is unfortunately, a side symptom…wish they had warned me of that while in the hospital, so I could have known what to do, to deal with it. Fortunately, mine SHOULD correct itself, in time…but only time itself will tell. I have found though that increasing your sodium intake (that would be where the pretzels come in) helps a lot…especially since I wasn’t getting enough sodium in my diet…a vital nutrient we need to function properly. Too little is just as bad as having too much!

    It's no use to consult doctors. I asked three of them for help. None of them had an answer, they all said "eat more salt"!!!!. Stop telling people to consult their doctors. None of them have a solution!!!!!!!!!! "SO MUCH" for today's modern medical profession!!

    • @Paramedstore

      We totally understand your reaction. That's why we often say listen to yourself. First you, then doctors, then useful videos from RUclips :)
      But we really can't stop saying "consult a doctor" because everyone can have an individual reaction to general advice. And doctors have more knowledge and can help deal with the problem.
      We wish you good health and listen to yourself more often!

    I am being treated for heart failure with low blood pressure at age 69. I have had low blood pressure all my life. I am, however, being prescribed one high blood pressure medication after another, as I am having a terrible time tolerating them, and feel horrible. I am told it will "protect my heart" but seems to me to make things worse.

    • @Paramedstore
      @Paramedstore  2 года назад +2

      Talk about your thoughts with your doctor. He or she may be able to explain in more detail why you are being prescribed these medications. Doctors prescribe medications, understanding their side effects. But very often the side effects of taking certain medications are worse than not taking those medications. High blood pressure for a hypotensive person is even worse than for a person with normal pressure. Therefore, perhaps, after assessing the risks, you were prescribed medication for hypertension. In any case, be sure to contact your doctor if your blood pressure drops sharply or very frequently. We wish you good health!

    Really suffering. BP is 87/56. Heart rate is 103. Shaking. Tired of these “flare-ups”. Water and leg crossing have failed. So tired of having these episodes. Went to doc, put me on metoprolol. Not working. If ANYONE, has solved low BP like this - please let me know. I’m not dehydrated. I exercise daily. Eat healthy and STILL, struggling. 😠

      I'm sorry that you're experiencing this!
      Talk to your doctor again about metoprolol. Your dose may be reduced or your medication changed. Metoprolol can lower blood pressure too (not only the number of heartbeats)
      If you want, watch our more detailed video on hypotension for more tips: ruclips.net/video/YlE945dptAM/видео.html

    • @JamesBond-sr7fw

      Metoprolol lowered my heart rate and made my head hurt, just me. I do get afib and that’s what makes my heart flutter. I think that maybe the atrium fluttering makes less blood good to the brain and makes me dizzy. I was put on anti afib medicine and it helped my heart stabilize.
      What has helped me the most is lying on my back with the legs higher than my heart and allow my emotional state to recover. You get nervous when all this happens and it doesn’t help.

      Get off metropolol it lowers blood pressure. They put my 96 year old mom on it while she was a patient and she passed out. The nurse wasn’t expecting it and almost fell with her. I talked to her doctors and immediately removed from prescription list.

      Try Himalayan salt, not the cheap table salt. Also, are you constipated? They say when you strain to poo, all the blood goes to the stomach and causes low bp. I’m just thinking of things that have helped my mom. Stay away from sugary treats, lay down flat with a few pillows under your feet. If you are up & about, wear compression socks. Deep breathing through nose & blow out through mouth several times a day. Hope something helps you. 🙏🏻 😊

    90/70 blood pressure, it is low blood pressure? Thanks

    • @Paramedstore
      @Paramedstore  2 года назад +3

      Answered your question under another video. And we duplicate the answer here:
      A blood pressure reading lower than 90/60 is generally considered low blood pressure. It is very important how you feel with such blood pressure. If you have symptoms of low blood pressure, see your doctor. Often hypotension is the result of other health problems.
      And also important, the correct measurements of your blood pressure monitor. To check, take it to the doctor to compare the measurements with his device.
      We wish you good health!

    Black tea lowers blood pressure slightly. Not sure why this was included.

    • @Paramedstore
      @Paramedstore  Месяц назад

      Black tea contains caffeine, a stimulant that can temporarily raise blood pressure by stimulating the nervous system. Caffeine blocks a hormone that keeps blood vessels widened (relaxed), causing blood vessels to narrow, which can increase blood pressure. But in the long run, black tea doesn't necessarily raise blood pressure. But in this video we talked about ways to raise blood pressure as quickly as possible to relieve symptoms.

    104/65 all I want to do is sleep
    I drink lots of water and 3x cups of coffee throughout the day
    I'm not too keen on the salt, but I will give it a try.
    I saw the doc 2x this past week. They didn't seem to be concerned, though I did come close to fainting after trying to sit up from my exam. The nurse came back in and sat with me for 5 minutes til my head cleared up a bit.

      Oh, we're so sorry you're experiencing this.
      Of course, we recommend that you see a doctor about this, because we can not give you any treatment. But you may be helped by a general change in lifestyle, which includes: reducing stress and negative emotional experiences, good nutrition, physical activity (for example, active walking for 40-60 minutes a day). You also need to understand the cause of your low blood pressure and get rid of it. A doctor and/or monitoring your condition (perhaps even keeping a diary) will help you with this.

    Im a hemodialysis pt of many yrs. Normally dialysis pts have high BP but ive had low BP most of my life. When your on dialysis u normally have to watch your fluid intake so drinking lots of water is not an option for me. Eating lots of salt will increase thirst which in turn will make it very difficult keeping fluds down to 1itre per day. Ive tried MIDODRINE but it takes approx 45min to kick in . When i go hhpotensive it hits me fast. I get very dizzy. My vision urs. Heart races and i cant breath. Ive actually passed out couple times in stores. My doctors offer no real help. Meds dont work fast enough. I cant drive cause afraid ill go hypo while driving. Afraid to go anywhere by myself. Im afraid one day ill pass out and my heart will stop. Dont know what to do anymore. Affecting my quality of life.

      I'm sorry to hear about the challenges you're facing with your hemodialysis and blood pressure management. While I'm not a medical professional, I can offer some general suggestions and insights that might help you navigate this situation:
      Seek Second Opinions: If you feel like your current healthcare team isn't providing you with adequate solutions, consider seeking a second opinion from another nephrologist or specialist who might have different perspectives or treatment options.
      Medication Adjustment: While you mentioned that medications haven't worked fast enough for you, it's possible that there are other medications or combinations of medications that could be more effective in managing your blood pressure fluctuations.
      Fluid Management Strategies: Since you're limited in your fluid intake due to your dialysis, it's crucial to work with your healthcare team to develop a personalized fluid management plan. This might involve adjusting your dialysis schedule, monitoring your weight more closely, or making dietary modifications to minimize fluid retention.
      Lifestyle Modifications: In addition to medication and medical interventions, there may be lifestyle changes you can make to help manage your symptoms. This could include avoiding activities that trigger hypotensive episodes, practicing relaxation techniques to reduce stress, and ensuring you're getting enough rest and sleep.
      Support Network: Living with a chronic condition like yours can be challenging, both physically and emotionally. Don't hesitate to lean on friends, family, or support groups for emotional support and practical assistance.
      It's essential to advocate for yourself and work closely with your healthcare team to find solutions that improve your quality of life. Don't hesitate to voice your concerns and explore all available options until you find a management plan that works for you.

      hey my mom is also going through exactly this!!!! im so scared shes going to faint and she lives in a house with stairs im trying to get her into a nursing home so she can get 24/7 carer, maybe you can do that too? im afraid she'll die cause she falls and snaps her neck or something. so im doing everything to try to get her blood pressure up naturally but yes the midodrine should work her docs told her to stop it and now shes having low low blood pressure like 70/something sometimes after dialysis all they tell me is to give her fluids and sit up. like what the f am i suppose to do shell faint again and had to go to the er before for this reason. idk what to do! the doctors are stupid seriously

      @calista910 well I'm too young and active for a nursing home. I'm lucky to have a very caring husband who now drives me around and watches me like a hawk. I'm been I'll since I'm 13yrs old. Started dialysis at 21. If it came to the point that I became a burden to my husband it would be time for me to check out. No nursing home for me. Never.

      @calista910 forgot to mention this. Pickles..salty pickles usually works faster for me than midodrine. It gets sodium into the body quickly which raises the BP. Also try Lipton cup-a-soup. Boil her half a cup of water instead of what pkg says. Pour in a packet of soup. Have her drink it fast. Lots of sodium. They give it to us on the dialysis unit that have low BP after treatment. They usually won't let them leave till BP over 100

If Tim are aged, look for a Dr. Who specializes in treating geriatric patients and at least call them for advice. Doc needs to find the cause quickly. You’ve suffered enough just thru one of those horrid spells of shock.
