Lost a friend in a house fire. She kept the newspaper and other flammable items too close to her woodstove and they caught on fire. She died trying to save her pets. Please consider moving things further away from the stove. I'd hate for it to happen ever again to someone. Keep the videos coming. Really enjoying them.
what will you do with the old brick pieces? use them outside either whole or broken into smaller chunks or throw them out? some of them could be used around the property in any number of ways
You have tons of patience, I would be saying a few choice words that would make a sailor blush, lol. Thank you for showing the hearth wood stove brick change out.
Oh man this brings back memories... When I was a kid my folks got a wood burning stove and I helped my dad replace the fire bricks in the wood stove, my dad had the foresight to contact the company for instructions on how to replace the bricks and lo and behold they sent detailed instructions. Just an FYI, make sure ALL ashes are out of the stove and door, and replacing all the firebrick at one time to prevent cracking of older ones. As for replacing the rope, I don't remember how we did that, I think my dad did that when I was at school.
We have the same stove. Needs new gasket. Manual says it's 5/8. Tractor supply was out if stock. Went to Lowe's. It's too lose... What size gasket did you use?
Just curious as to how you got the Cox’s shirt? I ask because we didn’t get any snow today in the triad. I bought this stove at an auction this summer and will be using it for the first time this weekend.
Dangerous to do a project on unedited video. I was expecting to hear a mountain of swear words along with yelling, some blood and other stuff. I'm actually rather amazed the worst I hear was "man this is irritating". Like I said, amazing.
I have the bigger model of that stove and it was money well spent. It's very easy to keep my 1500 square foot home in northern Ohio at 75 degrees during the winter. Plus the huge savings on my electric bill and the peace of mind that if the power goes out I will keep warm and have a means to cook. Get a Dutch oven without legs to cook with on top of your stove you can make just about anything even bread in it. Enjoy the videos, watching people like you have inspired me to start preparing.
I have this same stove. What isnt shown is that there are 2 sets of bricks that have to be cut. I brick cut lengthwise and the other cut across. He may have gotten lucky and didnt need to replace the ones that need to be cut.
so whats the purpose of the fire bricks, ya kinda got side tracked, i just replaced my old wood stove in my house with a newer larger one an it came with bricks as my old one didnt
Yes, That was me with the cord question.. Always tricky to judge On Camera... :) I was wondering when you would use the vacum cleaner... It's a messy job, but makes a big differance.... love the vids, Kepp them coining from UK.. :)
Yes applied science does work and gentle words help keep the video making money you know. You are going to have measure your wood to get a real proper fit in the burn chamber. Like how many cubic feet/ inches it is inside. Better burning if you get enough airflow around wood. A fan from behind might circulate heat around house better. Also works keeping it cool in summer. Remember heat rises so open a window up near peak of roof. Reverse flow for summer now.
Im lovin the kid checking himself out in the mirror!🤣

No. Fucking throw them away. They’re bricks… It’s OK to bury them in the landfill.
@@evanwest1929 LANGUAGE!!!
Reuse them
Thanks for the great job and appreciations .very good explanations and God bless you 🇩🇰🙏
Heather is really good to bring up the need to keep wood the correct size! “Clean up your mess Dear!”

I was wondering why he didn't replace them all! I will def be replacing all of them at once.
ED what's the plug, how often do you change the bricks out and what's the name of that brand of fireplace
Keep the old firebricks ... Scrounge and make a smelter furnace ... Can also be used for smithing ... Just in case ...

lmao, lovely comment... straight to the nitty gritty of the deal! I luv it.

Can u replace the top fiberglass baffles on top with firebricks
I take it that modern wood stoves have to come in standard dimensions in order for the bricks to fit together without any gaps?

Nice to see Eddie’s legs as he stepped over and went on his way lol! I did get a
Glimpse of him in the mirror.
My favorite videos are the ones with Eddie. :) He's a good kid.
Great with some maintenance of the woodstove. Have a great evening, Andreas 🇸🇪
Lol. I remember doing this to my insert. Omg. Messy. Trim is the easiest job. Thinking of pulling it out.
Nice job! I seen Heather in the mirror, you look great girl! 🌼
Wouldn't the heat escape through the flue instead of radiating into the room
No not at all.
@@preppernurse1 how. Can u explain it a bit thanks
The iron stove heats up and retains the heat. The blower blows across the stove to send the heat into the room.

I was wondering if the stove would work fine if you could not get the fire bricks??
Mine does better without the bricks . And I can load more wood. Stove did a large family room with bricks . Now it can heat the whole house.
@Indiansmoke1 that's not dangerous..to have no bricks
Should've mounted the camera closer to the stove.. most of this was just the back of your dome piece.
nice video of the back of his head..
Any idea when the Legacy order will be shipped?
Any thing that anyone ordered already has been shipped out.
@@preppernurse1 I didn't get my order. I sent you an email.
Send me another e-mail let me know what you ordered and I will look into it.
@@preppernurse1 I emailed you at: orders@preppernurse1.com. Do you want me to use a different email?
Did you get my replay.
I believe your stove has a secondary burn baffle. Get rid of that spark arrestor cap.
Nice , you should go live on RUclips

Nice, just make sure to thoroughly clean out the grooves & pockets of all debris, it'll make things a lot smoother and less frustrating....
anyone asking about the legacy food, when it going get to you ,, FYI it's coming from Utah,
Does the bricks and cording have asbestos. Probably would be good to wear masks and gloves when moving them around.
No more asbestos in new ropes ... Stove doesn't look old enough for asbestos ...
Sorry ED it just had to answer
Ed, when you get a chance, could you possibly read and reply to my email? I would so much appreciate it. Thank you.
