Nintendo Link: This is how I'm portrayed in the animated series? No wonder it only lasted 13 episodes. That catchphrase is weak. TV Link: Well, excu-u-use me...uh...me! I don't see you coming up with anything better! Nintendo Link: At least I don't constantly pester Zelda for kisses! (At this moment, both Zeldas are watching them) TV Zelda: Frankly, I think my Link should act more like yours. At least *he* keeps his mind on his job. Nintendo Zelda: How true.
Mine too! This is definitely the most fun Link, and actually has personality. He also works perfectly for the time, since he is good enough to be a funny hero that will make children watching the cartoon laugh, but also flawed enough that Zelda has moments to shine too, supporting women and promoting their roles in the 1900s. Anyone who thinks Link and Zelda’s relationship is toxic thinks that Han and Princess Leia’s relationship is that too.
I’ve had to remove a comment, which almost never happens (I never had to remove a single comment for Basically Classic Literature, which has more than 10x the amount of comments.) Usually, that wouldn’t affect anything, but it’s becoming clear that people are mistaking this joke to be serious. People’s inner misogynistic selves are coming out, and I need to correct a few things. First off, Zelda has good reason to be upset with Link all the time. He simps a lot, and sometimes deserves that attitude. Second, when I say stuff such as, “Smart reply to a ‘strong’ and ‘independent’ woman”, I’m not giving you permission to actually be misogynistic. I admit that I really worded that joke poorly, but the video itself is supposed to be humorous, not serious. I literally have a scene of Link in his frigging underwear.
Welp, with all this hard evidence, I think we can excuuuUuuuse him for saying his catchphrase so often
Thanks for agreeing
This is becoming Link's catchphrase in every episodes of Legend of Zelda.
It already is Link’s catchphrase
