  • In December 1402, during Wenceslas' imprisonment in Vienna, Sigismund attacked Kuttenberg and by the beginning of the following year seized and ransacked the town. Kuttenberg was loyal to the King and staunchly defended by its miners. When they finally surrendered, they were force-marched to Sigismund 's encampment near Kolin and made to kneel before him in the mud in subjugation. In addition, they had to pay huge sums of money in reparation, even though the town and its environs had been pillaged by Hungarian soldiers.
    The treasury in Kuttenberg held not only coins, but also precious jewels, gold and silver. Wenceslas later estimated the wealth seized by Sigismund to be worth one million in gold ducats of the day.
    Kingdom Come: Deliverance focuses on realistic medieval and historical events that make the 15th century of Europe come to life. The game takes place in the Kingdom of Bohemia, part of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown and the modern-day Czech Republic. It is set in an open-world environment and uses a classless system.
    You play as Henry, a peasant son of a well-known blacksmith who undertakes a journey of revenge, and you're able to customize his abilities to create a character that fits closer to your preferred gameplay style. Skills and progress will depend on the choices players make during the branched dialog trees.
    The game features fascinating content, such as non-linear storytelling, advanced reputation, and law system, skill-based mini-games, large scale battles, and sieges. A living and breathing world with emergent gameplay, sophisticated, well made, complex, and challenging combat mechanics and character as well as clothing customization.

    Kutna Hora is name consisting of two parts - "Kutna" from kucie or kuce which means "mining" or "forging" in west slavic languages, and "Hora" which basicly means mountain or hill.
    Also great video, I am proud that people like you are doing great work to spread historical knowledge. Greetings from Poland!

      since I live near Kutná Hora (in village Jakub - Církvice, where is also very famous church of st. Jacob tied to Vladislav II., second king of Bohemia), it's nice to see this. By the way Malín was residence of Slavníkovci (rival house to Premyslid). And Sedlec was pillaged by Hussites just few years later after this event (1421) - maybe Jan Hus have right thoughts, but Hussites were very dark age of our history. They basically destroyed any chance of Bohemia to became major power, which could have happened if Sigismund would become king earlier. Then it would be (maybe) different story. Czech lands never recovered after death of Charles IV. and basically became only troublesome land, imprisoned in battle between protestants and catholics. So Habsburks had very easy job of having this land until WW1.

      @@matyassiegel1732Very true. It’s mostly because of socialist propaganda that Hussites are so celebrated, as they symbolize opposition to the church and the wealthy elite. The history of our country could have been very different.

    • @ParryThis
      @ParryThis  2 года назад

      Well, first, i wouldn't say he was a terrible military leader, he had notable failures, but also successes. But, much of his success came from the fact that he was an effective administrator, and a very cunning politician.
