Link’s lack of gentleness surprises me not only because of the nature of his personality but also because in my experience, guys are always far too gentle with my hair for the fear of tears.
Even when I was little, my brother and dad would hold my hair clenched in a fist at the top just to avoid the pain of brushing at the bottom. It was completely pain-free, yet completely inefficient.
