coworker and i did the hard alcohol version of this on the way back from a convention on the east coat back to cali years ago. we got the shirts and sharpie and did it up, even got some free drink tickets from a flight attendant. we took a picture when we landed and put it on instagram. one of the writers on the show actually commented on the pic! one of my favorite episodes of all time.
I love the joke that Dee never even understood who Wade Boggs was and just thought they meant Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazard, and yet she was still the most dedicated one about getting fucked up drunk on beer LMAO
"...she's North Dakota trash through and through and far beneath a gentleman such as myself. Uh, miss? Six more beers." That entire delivery is incredible.
According to Boggs himself, he had 103 beers on that bi-coastal flight. Also, according to the cast, while filming they were drinking fake beer while Boggs was downing the real stuff.
recently netflix recommended me a show called AP Bio, starring our boy Glenn Howerton. It has no relation to Always sunny, but just picture Dennis as a highschool teacher with a enormous ego. Thats AP Bio
Epic episode! I'm also waiting for The Gang Turns Black andHero or Hate Crime, but don't know if he'll be able to air those if they haven't been canceled due to wokeness. I'm glad I have the first 8 seasons on dvd.
I started watching reactions of Always Sunny just so I could see your take on season 10... Especially episode 4. It's my all time favorite. Nearly there!
I just realized that when mac is making a serious statement, he doesnt end it looking at the person, he ends it looking at his hands, like hes looking at the point he's made. 3:43
My friends and I still use the phrase “That’s baseball baby” constantly. We are all baseball fans and anytime something unexplainable or wild happens in a game/stats, we use the quote haha
My friends and I did this at a frat party in college. I ended up winning with 21 beers but my buddy quit at 18 because he had to work in the morning and he absolutely could've won it. Still have the shirt in my closet!
This episode is iconic! Fun Fact: Wade Boggs was best friends with pro wrestler Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig. They were the 1s that started the wolfpack & using the hand symbol. Scott Hall of the nWo took it from Curt during the Kliq days in WWF/E.
The interesting thing about the actor that originally played boss hogg was that he graduated Columbia University at 19 and then got a master's at Yale. He then went on to be a counterintelligence officer in the army during the Korean war.
We did a case of 24 beers while sitting in a tree when I was a kid. I remember the tree starting to feel uncomfortable and thinking "Maybe this is too much beer?", and then whoever has the remote of life skipped some chapters and I was in tomorrow feeling all sorts of un-OK.
Interesting fact about smoking on planes: the air quality was much higher when it was allowed then afterwards. The airlines used to not recycle the air during flight, they would use new air every cycle. The reason they banned smoking wasn’t due to improving customer experience, it was out of a desire to be able to recycle and reuse air that was already in the cabin. This meant that once smoking was banned, it introduced the new problem of people being much more likely to catch airborne illnesses while on a plane. During covid is when they finally went back to using fresh air every cycle. Not sure if they have gone back to recycling it since though.
The only time I kept track was when I turned 25. We called it the "Quarter Century Challenge" and we just needed to have a beer for every year. Me and a friend both got white shirts, kinda like this (but it woulda been 10 years before this episode aired). I drew 25 boxes and I'd have someone at the party mark a box for each beer I drank. It wasn't so much the volume that got tough as much as it was the pace. We kicked it off with a"Power Hour", which is a shot of beer every minute...works out to 5 beers an hour. I then did a descending pattern each hour of 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 followed by a water hour. The idea was to get 80% of it done by 5, and allow ourselves to slowly finish the evening. We kinda lost track after that. But I did wake up the next morning with a fully marked shirt. My friend missed 2.
I tried to do 23 drinks on my 23rd birthday. A beer or a shot counted. I got to 20 or 21 and blacked out hard. I slept all of the next day, then when I went to go to pt on Monday (I was in the air force), I realized my shorts were utterly covered in puke. Crazy thing is I wasn't even all that hungover. I was just tired. At 41 if I get anywhere near that shit housed, it feels like I'm recovering from a knockout loss to Alex P :(
I never tried to push myself, but the most I ever had was in college at the party after a big event. I had 9 shots in about an hour and a half, partially because a girl at the party wanted to play Pass the Burnett’s. I remember throwing snowballs at the basketball hoop outside the apartment from half court, and that’s about it. No hangover because I always ate good breakfast food and drank lots of water before going to bed. I didn’t drink large quantities anyway, but when I did I was the only one in my friend group not struggling the next morning.
there was an unofficial challenge that the bartenders did at a bar I went to when I was in college called "The Line" you had to drink an imperial pint (20 ounces) of every beer they had on tap in order either from right to left or left to right. Right side was dark stout beers, left side was lagers, if you finished all 25 beers they had on tap, you didn't get charged, otherwise it was the cost of the beer and an automatic 50% tip. You could start when the bar opened at 10am and had to finish before they closed at 2am and puking was a failure. The 3 times I tried were perhaps the drunkest I've ever gotten and best I did was 20, so decided it wasn't gonna happen ever. I had a room mate complete it though.
I can drink basically anyone I've ever met under the table, and the thought of drinking 70 beers is literally insane to me. I could probably knock out a 24 pack, but I'd be fucking napping, lmao.
I feel like this episode doesn’t get the love it deserves. As a baseball fan this is one of my favorites in the series. Can’t wait to see your reaction! Also, LOL to you saying you were all over the place in the intro like Joe Biden 😂 Also also, my record was 36 beers in college. I had a bit of a problem back then…
Beer aside, tbh it's a miracle none of the gang's died yet they def would've at least been arrested for longer as real ppl, unless philly is loose on the law lol (unless frank bailed them out each time)
In college my friends and I did a competition where we each took a 1.5oz shot of beer every minute until we tapped out or threw up. We started at 8pm on the dot and I won at some point around 1:15am, which calculated out to something like ~37 beers over about the course of the night. Drinking in such small quantities over a longer period plus getting McDonalds around 11 helped a ton, but thinking about it now makes me shudder for what my college self inflicted upon my liver.
Back in college I once drank 12 beers in a day. Not farty little American cans, British pints. We started around noon and finished about midnight so I wasn’t all that drunk though not sober enough to ride my motorcycle home.
I laughed my ass off to this episode... But now that a few years have passed I have to believe LMAO.... There's no way boggs did this without a drug that rhymes with snow plane.... You can't do more than 28 beers without snow plane keeping you goin. To do this many beers on little food and that's it, there's no way, I'd bet on it .... Unless Frank Reynolds says he did it, I'd believe he did that shit with pocket sausages and a fully loaded gun lol
Damn dude, thanks for the chicken recommendation. I'm a Vegas local but all my family's in Philly so I'll be heading back in March. Gonna get me some Love and Honey(Lovin Honey?)
I don’t condone of this anymore haha. But at the Calgary stampede in 2005 my buddy and I each had over 50 cans of beer through the day. It was a complete shit show and we got kicked out of course hahaha. That’s my “record”. Again, terrible idea
Most beer's I have had is half. I was 18 going on 19, just finished my first FTX in S Korea. (Camp Red Cloud, Uijeongbu, Area 1). I couldnt get pass half of a bottle of the OB brand. Made me sick to my stomach. Everyone's like that beer is ok. Not better than such and such... Never got the taste of beer. I did turn to whiskey. Johnny Walker. Black Label is my go-to. Every birthday. I get a bottle of blue label, and I enjoy it with myself. For my XX birthday, I loaded 3 bottle of Blue label, a bottle of Jack and 2 2L cokes and got on a bus from Milwaukee to Minneapolis for a 3 day binder. It was amazing... I think. Most of it went grey when I reached MPLS. It's even more funnier. I hooked with this white girl with a black flag and we just roamed around MPLS drunk. Stopping by and visiting my family and friends. I still don't remember her name. I just remember helping her get back to STP on my way back to the greyhound station. Oh yeah... I was carrying around a Muppet Baby sippy cup. 6'4" in all black Levi tux, J Crew flannel and gold Medusa rings. Just sipping and feeling good. #fgettingold.
Australia's version of Wade Boggs was legendary cricketer David Boon. Boonie famously drank 52 cans of Victoria Bitter (4.9% ABV) on a flight from Australia to England in 1989. Australia won that series 4-0. Boonie's batting average was 55.25 and he took 9 catches during the series (the most by any fielder other than wicket keepers).
I've done a 24 in a day with half a bottle of vodka. I was running through bonfires that were far too big...lost my eyebrows and most of my hair. Mild burns and woke up getting my stomach pumped Ah....being 19
me and my friend used to split a crate of 24 pint cans of stella between us at least 3 nights a week when I was a teenager couldn't even tell you the most I've ever drank but I'm from the uk, we binge drink on a different level to americans
Dear James VS Cinema, I came to this video to ask if you could do some more videos of classic era films. so could you? [probably] if the answer's "yes", I have some ideas for you: Lonesome by Paul Fejos, Playtime by Jacques Tati, City Lights, Sherlock Jr., Ilya Muromets, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum by Richard Lester, Abel Gance's Napoleon, Tokyo Olympiad by Kon Ichikawa, The Ladykillers by Alexander Mackendrick, Sulliavn's Travels, The Lady Eve, One, Two Three, Dragon Inn by King Hu, The Tune by Bill Plympton, Le Samurai by Jean-Pierre Melville, Yoyo, La Grande Amour and The Suitor by Pierre Etaix, the films of Charley Bowers, The Nutty Professor and The Bellboy by Jerry Lewis, Good Mourning by Yasujiro Ozu, To Be or Not to Be by Ernst Lubitsch the Zagreb Film films of Zlatko Grgic, Milan Blazekovic and Dusan Vukotic and Police Story 1 and 2 and Drunken Master by Jackie Chan. Good luck.
Maybe 12 at the most? And that’s more like one an hour starting when I wake up and then swapping to something harder when decide start a movie or TV series which I immediately fall asleep to.
I have an extreme urge to drink beers on a plane now.

we got the shirts and sharpie and did it up, even got some free drink tickets from a flight attendant.
we took a picture when we landed and put it on instagram. one of the writers on the show actually commented on the pic!
one of my favorite episodes of all time.
I can’t wait for more curb your enthusiasm!
I love the joke that Dee never even understood who Wade Boggs was and just thought they meant Boss Hogg from Dukes of Hazard, and yet she was still the most dedicated one about getting fucked up drunk on beer LMAO
Charlie talking to the ghost of still living Wade Boggs always cracks me up, and Dee talking to Boss Hogg only makes it funnier!
I still use the phrase "What do now?" to this day
I got all numbers
The Mantis Toboggan callback never fails to make me laugh
Woah I didn’t even realise we was at season 10. It’s gonna be sad when this is over. Thank you for your commitment for the weekly uploads 🙏🏻
Anytime homie!
The amount of lore that comes from this episode is crazy
"...she's North Dakota trash through and through and far beneath a gentleman such as myself.
Uh, miss?
Six more beers."
That entire delivery is incredible.
Through and through
He should've picked up on the multiple gecko tattoos. That's on him
Charlie Day actually played college baseball so his swing is pretty pure haha
Could you imagine being on a plane with the Gang? The Elden Ring bosses that is Dee and Frank would make me preeeessed.
You just start seeing their health bars pop up lmfaooo.
"Air Sex Society" as in "A.S.S." lmfao.
According to Boggs himself, he had 103 beers on that bi-coastal flight. Also, according to the cast, while filming they were drinking fake beer while Boggs was downing the real stuff.
Unless those beers had like 0.something percent alcohol, I’m pretty sure thats like twice or more of a lethal dose…
I dont doubt Boggs got drunk, but logistically speaking, his numbers off.
Bogg's claim, but I'm sure he's built up a huge tolerance.
recently netflix recommended me a show called AP Bio, starring our boy Glenn Howerton. It has no relation to Always sunny, but just picture Dennis as a highschool teacher with a enormous ego. Thats AP Bio
The Mick is also great. I love seeing the cast branch out.
The Mick was great, but I'll never watch AP Bio because Glenn Howerton kept saying watch AP Bio hundreds of times, and also it's a dumb title.
Almost time for Charlie Work
Epic episode!
I'm also waiting for The Gang Turns Black andHero or Hate Crime, but don't know if he'll be able to air those if they haven't been canceled due to wokeness.
I'm glad I have the first 8 seasons on dvd.
Wait till you watch “Charlie Work”. An absolute classic. This and McPoyle vs. Ponderosa courtroom episode.
Season 10 is just so good 😂
will you do a bonus ep and watch some of the bloopers from earlier seasons?
Yup!!
Please and Thank You!!
@@JamesVSCinema this is why youre goated
I started watching reactions of Always Sunny just so I could see your take on season 10... Especially episode 4. It's my all time favorite. Nearly there!
This is a good group Halloween costume idea. All you need is some white t's and a sharpie.
RIP Wade Boggs
Again he is still very much alive
I just realized that when mac is making a serious statement, he doesnt end it looking at the person, he ends it looking at his hands, like hes looking at the point he's made. 3:43
Lfmaoooo that’s a good catch
In addition to his musical talents, Charlie also played college baseball
Extremely excited for curb!
Yes! Been looking forward to you reacting to this all-time classic episode
My friends and I still use the phrase “That’s baseball baby” constantly.
We are all baseball fans and anytime something unexplainable or wild happens in a game/stats, we use the quote haha
I don't drink beer, it's a highly inefficient alcohol delivery system.
I think this was the first episode I ever watched of IASIP. It was a marathon on TV. Despite not knowing any of the characters I still loved it.
My friends and I did this at a frat party in college. I ended up winning with 21 beers but my buddy quit at 18 because he had to work in the morning and he absolutely could've won it. Still have the shirt in my closet!
One of my absolute favorite episodes. This one is gold.
I think this is the best episode in the entire show that takes place completely outside of the bar
I think 15 is about where i stop being a functional human being and 20-25 is where I stop being conscious
This episode is a classic!
The interesting thing about the actor that originally played boss hogg was that he graduated Columbia University at 19 and then got a master's at Yale. He then went on to be a counterintelligence officer in the army during the Korean war.

Did 24 over a 14 hour binge once too as a student. Never again...
Same, a 24 case of room temperature beer at a house party in my teens. It would be the end of me now at 39.
16 is my max, I think. They were Coors light, so slightly bigger cans than what they were drinking. I did it because I was actually thirsty though.

If you know how many beers you drank on your biggest binge, then your biggest binge wasn't that big.
I can drink basically anyone I've ever met under the table, and the thought of drinking 70 beers is literally insane to me. I could probably knock out a 24 pack, but I'd be fucking napping, lmao.
This episode turned me into an alcoholic.
The most beers I had back to back was 10. I don’t remember much after that and later I woke up puking everywhere
Wowwww I always thought Frank was saying "Instant rebuff" at that last beer drink
Yes! My buddy and I always reference this episode in particular whenever we get together for the sole purpose of getting shitfaced.
I drank 4 beers during this video alone.
yeah, we're doing a Wade Boggs type thing
I feel like this episode doesn’t get the love it deserves. As a baseball fan this is one of my favorites in the series. Can’t wait to see your reaction!

One of the best seasons
@JamesVSCinema 2:56 - Smoking on planes was banned in the early '80's. I'm pretty sure YOU don't remember that.
$1 pitchers of cheap beer in the 70s, in college. I finished most of the third one (chugging), before the cold beer started backing up...
Back in college I once drank 12 beers in a day. Not farty little American cans, British pints. We started around noon and finished about midnight so I wasn’t all that drunk though not sober enough to ride my motorcycle home.
OMG I forgot how amazing this episode is! Pour one out for Boss Hoggs!
Watching this in bed with a massive hangover hits different😅
My friends and I did casefest back in the day. Start at noon and finish a 24 pack
One of my favorite episodes 😂
I think the most I ever drank was two bottles of red wine followed by nine pints. It was an Office Christmas meal out.
Season ten came out on the day I took acid with my buddy. We thought we were on that plan.
Bro if you did the Firefly into Battlestar Galactica combo, that be a pretty sweet progression for the channel =D
This one is one of my faves 😂😂😂
I beer bonged 2 40's of King Cobra and immediately threw up and passed out.
I laughed my ass off to this episode... But now that a few years have passed I have to believe LMAO.... There's no way boggs did this without a drug that rhymes with snow plane.... Love and Honey 🙏🏽 enjoy! You’ll love it!
another Vegas local! Small world
I've has over 60 beers at a cookout not counting shots and stuff.but that was an all day thing
Dennis could have been a detective like Dexter
I don’t condone of this anymore haha. But at the Calgary stampede in 2005 my buddy and I each had over 50 cans of beer through the day. It was a complete shit show and we got kicked out of course hahaha. That’s my “record”. Again, terrible idea
I know a friend that did a case of beer challenge, and he drank 30 beers in 24 hours
12 beers while watching the Cornetto trilogy
Most beer's I have had is half. I was 18 going on 19, just finished my first FTX in S Korea. (Camp Red Cloud, Uijeongbu, Area 1). I couldnt get pass half of a bottle of the OB brand. 0:50 I'm going to need Mark Forst and David Lynch's Twin Peaks out of you eventually.
Let’s goooo!
I named my dog Wade because of this episode 😂
oh shit that blonde is Jan Brady from the 90s Brady Bunch movies
I think i finished an 18 pack of keystone in my 20s or close to it. Definitely vomited
24 one time got really sick
issaa wades boggs
Australia's version of Wade Boggs was legendary cricketer David Boon. Boonie famously drank 52 cans of Victoria Bitter (4.9% ABV) on a flight from Australia to England in 1989. Australia won that series 4-0. Boonie's batting average was 55.25 and he took 9 catches during the series (the most by any fielder other than wicket keepers).
30 beers in a few hrs then passed out lol
6 or 7 is crazy. I've downed a whole 24 pack.
I've done a 24 in a day with half a bottle of vodka.
I was running through bonfires that were far too big...lost my eyebrows and most of my hair. Mild burns and woke up getting my stomach pumped
Ah....being 19
At some point in college i vaguely remember my roommates and I going back to the packie for a 3rd 30 rack....but i've no idea what the number was lol
11:03 He sure did
29 is doable. I did case races in college.
me and my friend used to split a crate of 24 pint cans of stella between us at least 3 nights a week when I was a teenager
couldn't even tell you the most I've ever drank
but I'm from the uk, we binge drink on a different level to americans
Most I've ever done was about 15 or 16 beers 👍
Lol thats San Fernando High school
Some amazing moments ahead, but unfortunately I consider season 10 where the quality starts to drop a little bit.
I’m a pothead but 6 beers for me
30 beers for party.max all day 40

replying to how many beers in a day. I am from Wisconsin and maxed out at 57 in a 4 hour period.
I think I've maybe had 10 at one point and that's a maybe
Maybe 12 at the most? And that’s more like one an hour starting when I wake up and then swapping to something harder when decide start a movie or TV series which I immediately fall asleep to.
