I remember walking into my first lesson with the sheet music and telling you I wanted to learn this tune. You were like: "Ok.. But maybe let's do Amazing Grace first". Good times lol
I also have Scots Guard Volume 2, but no other regimental books. I have the Donald MacLeod series (1-6) that I was likely to tackle after the Scots Guards
Justin Stradling: I’m playing a set of Robertson replica pipes by McGillivray and Dunbar called The Robbies in this tune. I also have a set of 2018 Peter Henderson Heritage edition pipes by R.G. Hardie. My chanters for both are Campbell tunable chanters (built around a McCallum poly chanter).
There are a lot of great pipes being made right now. The two above are my personal favorites, but I also really like the MacRae pipes from McCallum. That said the standard McCallum pipes work great, as do Naills, or any modern R.G. Hardie or Peter Henderson set. I’ve heard good things about many other makes, I just don’t have as much experience with them. All that being said, I strongly recommend getting a Blackwood set. In my experience of the plastic pipes, while they can sound fantastic, they tend to need frequent re-tuning, and that could be particularly frustrating for both a beginner or anyone in a pipe band.
slomarch You can see most of them! Given the layout of my music room, it’s difficult setting up a good camera angle, but I’ll see if I can tweak things for the next series of tunes.

It is a pleasure to hear such an excellent performance on a well-tuned set. A fine example for anyone wanting to learn how, thanks.
Awesome!
Dapper’d up on this one! Well played
Nicely played!
Thank you! Trying to get through 6 parts without any errors is tough, especially for a tune I'm half sight reading, but I think I managed well.
What kind bag u got on matt

can you two request after book one@@MattWillisBagpiper
Had a look can't find you playing "Mary's Wedding" anywhere...
Haven't recorded that one yet. Not in my standard repertoire, but an easy enough tune to relearn if requested for an event.
@@MattWillisBagpiper 100% it was almost always requested when I played weddings.
@@MattWillisBagpiper this is true. Would a good one to show off on the channel- such a catchy tune. :)
Nice playing. What make are your pipes? I'm still a beginner and looking at sets for a beginner. Any recommendations?

I'd much rather see your fingers!
