It could be that I’m high, but to me all the band members look so uniquely different from one to another in the way they look, dress, vibe, and perform on stage. It’s almost like they took 5 guys from different genres and put them all together to make Soilwork.
Soilwork melodic death metal legends, awesome! For some melodic trance-metal with very melodic electronics and vox from sweden, orginally inspired by modern melodic death metal check s out! /Best Regards MDF
Not a bad performance, seems the mix was a bit out with bass a touch high and guitars a bit low, but it's not an album playing it's open air it's going to sound how it does. New album is awesome can't wait to see them.in November in Sydney. Sadly David will be missed. 🙏RIP.
Are you out of your mind? Out of touch? Tone deaf? A bit on the bonjour side perhaps? This is some of the worst live vocals Soilwork has ever done live.
Dang... I understand bands have bad days, but since Dirk left, it’s been rough. They really need to get into a rehearsal space and get back to what they’re capable of. Bastian just needs to take the time to learn the drums parts as well. Still love the band though, just growing pains.
I know this is an old comment, but why does Soilwork seem to have such a high turn over of band members? I love their albums, but never really paid attention to the band itself. Digging into my favourite albums, I've realised they arent as good without Peter Wichers :/
I agree, Bastian gets a lot of shit in these comments that I dont think is warranted. He's a solid drummer, is he Dirk, no, but Dirk is one tough guy to replace. Ive played for almost 30 year's now, and some of his patterns are incredibly hard. I'd say Bastian is about 90% there, and that's pretty damn good given how big those shoes are he is filling. The rest of the band is doing decent. David I feel could be more active on stage, he is pretty boring to watch. Sylvain and the bassist (can't remember his name off hand) are putting on a pretty good show and have good crowd interaction. Not Bjorns best, but not his worst. Also gotta take into consideration how long he's been doing this. And From Bastian wearing a sweater, I want to say it's chilly out and that will affect vocals.
Bastian is clearly trying to do his very best, but as it is, it's just not enough for Soilwork. Dirk, on the other hand, he was just the very best without even trying.
Been seeing a lot of the comments on here sharing my disappointment in the band's level of live performances in the recent years, and felt I'd throw in my thoughts on this. I want to first say, despite not being able to hear Sylvain in the mix, he is pulling his weight and kicking ass, as always! Sylvain is a shredder, badass Frenchman with intense musicality. Those who are hearing the guitars all over the place are actually stuck having to hear David's super terrible right hand try to execute some of the demanding rhythms. He is kinda disgusting if you ask me and brings the quality of the band way down a lot. Listening to David sounds like a mucked up Rock Band video game session. Bjorn has had better performances as well, but this one isn't entirely horrible. Bastian is trying, you can hear it. He's got a ways to go in becoming proficient enough to fill Dirks shoes. Bass player and Sven were also doing a good job holding their own. Again.... David should really consider leaving the band if he doesn't want to up his game. He seems like a prick though who would never be capable of taking this kind of feedback and using it to grow enough inside to help make this band shine. David if you read this, please try man.... This actually makes me sad... this use to be my favorite band of all time... and now I have none....
@@rubyrutin3336 You might be right about that haha! Every band has it's ups and downs, still me favorite band. It's not like I've nailed EVERY performance I've been involved in either and it's clear this band has been through a lot given member changes and style changes.. and they are still here kicking ass! The new drummer is sick; the guy plays shit I couldn't even dream of with a look on his face like he could be cooking at the same time XD Love from Canada!
Ya this dude is definitely no demon hunter in concert. Awesome studio albums...... But everything is off. From his screaming to where you can't understand the lyrics to singing without a backbone live. He should've done what dope does....... What you cannot do in a studio you make up for it in concert. Just watch EDSEL'S live music and you'll see he creates ways for the music to sound awesome in a live performance
Was the sound dude deaf or something. The instruments are all over the place man. They played pretty sloppy overall too so that didn't help the cause. A lot of bands get screwed in these festival settings something always goes wrong. Look at the Annihilator set from the same year and the same stage, the difference is day and night just in the sound alone, you can actually hear all the instruments and not only a bass and one guitar.
It's gonna be a tough set when the only one running in-ear monitoring is the drummer. This mix ain't helping things either. o_0 I hope it at least sounded better in the crowd.
God DAMN. I've seen Soilwork live in a tiny, shitty venue in Charlotte and they sounded LEAGUES better than this, even though it was one of those insanely loud venues that murders your hearing. I'm sure this performance sounded way different in the crowd, but audio mixing aside, the whole band just played so sloppy. Especially Bjorn. I know he's a fantastic singer, but he just seemed so out of it here.
In all fairness, they all probably are. I remember when their former bassist left, Strid mentioned the guy worked regular shifts as a prison warden. He missed that lifestyle and quit.
Походу Бъёрн был не в лучшей форме. Голос уставший. Учитывая ихний плотный гастрольный график не удивительно, с любым может случиться. А так по факту один из крутейших вокалистов!)
This break my heart... These guys are so much better than this, well I can't speak for the drummer. But when The Living Infinite came out and I saw the tour. One of the best show I had ever seen.
Digital TRICKERY? Umm.. no. Nobody's trying to trick anyone there, genius. A studio recording has one purpose and one purpose only: Make the music sound as good as possible. Modern metal is heavily layered, because they fill the entire tonal spectrum, because that's what sounds good on live tracks. A recently recorded album from a popular progressive metal band has a song with 29 track layers and it sounds heavenly. They play with a backing track live because they would need 29 musicians on stage. Soilwork has started using backing tracks as well because this is how bad they sound live haha. it's fine because metal bands are open and honest about it. Nobody wants to spend 60 bucks on a concert and then be subjected to our favorite bands butchering their own music.
Whoa.... a band filled with talent - has the worst day on stage ever. Hit the rehearsal space . Or fix whatever issues have transpired and get the boys back together.
Man, bastian really cant play on the level that soilwork needs. lacking speed and groove. so sad :( i've seen soilwork live at metaltown in gothenburg. amazing gig. this is made me legit sad to see.
R.I.P. David Andersson (guitar) of Soilwork 🤘🤘
:( im a fan of them and didnt even know until now. gutted r.i.p !
Checking in in 2024 to watch David Andersson again. RIP man, you were amazing. Hope the afterlife is treating you well.

They suck too. And I'm not high
@@tysonhenry37 The album kicked ass.
They have some of the craziest dual guitar work I've ever heard. What a fucking fantastic band!!!
RIP David Andersson 😥
Jesus those high scream/singing notes on Latefor the kill have got to be insanely difficult to pull off. So sick!
I love this band...thanks for sharing this video.
Awesome as always!
I personally think that "live in the heart of helsinki" was one of there best live performances.
Yeah!! Thank you!
RIP Dave 🤘🏼💔
Happy for Crestfallen in their set list , one of their best songs
I don't get how they never play distortion sleep
sometimes they do. On their Live in Helsinki DvD they do
I wish they play Observation Slave sometimes :(
Couldn't have enjoyed it more \m/ \m/
Nerve has to be my favorite song!! LOVE IT
GREAT...as always!!!
Grande banda com vocalista fantástico
Dave. You legend :'( peace brother \m/
This band is pritty as usual. I know and love them since 25 years... They are full-fledged now. :) Awesome show!!!
36:13 Couldn't help laughing for that scream :D
God this was the worst scream ever
Sounds like my nan when she set her hair on fire over the cooker hob....
hes winded as fuck hey
39:19 aswell, lol.. I love Bjørn.. He's an amazing vocalist, but lol
@Seymour Dix Bad day, sounds like hungover fry as I call it.
before this i happened to listen to the Italian: Disarmonia Mundi - Fragments of D-Generation 2004. Very cool.
R.I.P David Anderson 🙏🏾🤘🏾
Sweet!👍👍 I grow up with this band!!
That was Peter Wichers era
ive always wanted to hear Distortion sleep, Overload, i vermin, Distance or If Possible, on a live stage
Why?
Hangover blues.
Just fucking love Soilwork!

Where the fuck is the melody??????!!!!
Rip David!!🤙🏻
RIP Dr. Andersson. We miss you.

Soilwork = Perfection !! Absolutely an outstanding band. I fuckin love SOILWORK!!!!!!!!
The drunkening is especially potent during Stabbing the Drama.
They were insane!

True Daddy's Metal 🤘
Perfect.
your ears work ok?
Are you tone deaf? Is this the first time you ever heard a live band? This is the worst Soilwork performance ever. Bjorn's vocals are cringeworthy.
What’s with the audio also ...
setlist ?
Sound mix kills this gig along with a zombied out crowd. Still love the boys.
This band is so godamm awesome! But the audio was a litle bit bad, just like the COB's performance.
R.I.P. David Andersson
Mental health issues and alcoholism can go straight to Hell.
Would you look at that. The Boy who joined Soilwork at the tender age of 16 has grey spots in his Beard.. We're getting old x)
Great set sadly missing anything from Natural Born Chaos
Natural Born Chaos and A predators portrait are probably one of my two favorite albums ever made from any band. Sad they don’t have that vibe anymore.
No more angels...
Why does the mix on their large festival shows all suck terribly?
I love how the first guitar is the least animated person lol
Oh my god, this is sad.... I've seen Soilwork like 4 or 5 times. This isn't them... fudge...
Always love soilwork but they aren't the live band they was with the natural born chaos line up
Yeah... might wanna consider laying off the Gammel Dansk binges until AFTER the gigs, boys. That was really sloppy.
This really is as good as it gets
Are you out of your mind? Out of touch? Tone deaf? A bit on the bonjour side perhaps? This is some of the worst live vocals Soilwork has ever done live.

guitartedoutlaw dirk left the band??
it's been more than two years now, where have you been?
Ádám Völgyesi well shit. I've just been listening to their albums, not really keeping up with them news wise
he's in megadave now.
I know this is an old comment, but why does Soilwork seem to have such a high turn over of band members? I love their albums, but never really paid attention to the band itself. Digging into my favourite albums, I've realised they arent as good without Peter Wichers :/
Is it Craig Goldie from Dio on the guitars?
the dude in the crowd at 17:06 has the longest pointer fingers i've ever seen in my life
HAAA! I had to look and you're right! Holy shit ! ....More proof that alien beings are among us.....
I didn’t know that Matisyahu was in Soilwork😆
LAAATE FOR THE KILL
AND EARLY FOR THE SLAUGHTER
(I don't care how it bleeds..)
Was he wasted?
When did Pau Gasol join Soilwork..?
LOL
Hahahahahah
😂😂😂😂
Is that Marten from Meshuggah on bass?
They were much better when I saw them with Kreator
Would not say its a bad performance guess people dont realise how long these guys been around. Its not the easiest songs to perform either
I agree, Bastian gets a lot of shit in these comments that I dont think is warranted. He's a solid drummer, is he Dirk, no, but Dirk is one tough guy to replace. The drumer is calme, but he is very good player
What happened with Bjorn's voice? ○_○`
wtf are they tired or something?
AuthenticAmorth it's the beggining of the fall for Soilwork, just have to listen to their last album to hear that.
Comee on the Ride Majestic was a great album!
Yes of course, their albums are still great. But I saw them live not two years ago and it was very lively.
This here is a very poor performance
Looks like Bjorn's vocals came back after some time. I heard earlier performances and his vocals were bad live.
Bastian is clearly trying to do his very best, but as it is, it's just not enough for Soilwork.
Dirk, on the other hand, he was just the very best without even trying.
must say this is the most boring metalcore drummer I've seen on YT ...

Quit to play for Megadeth.

Denmark. Seriously. Just google his name.
Bastian is from Denmark
Definitely Denmark. Told me himself. Super nice guy too. Very humble and knows the shoes he has to fill!
Who's the bassist?
Andreas Holma

Melancholy it didnt sound bad there, its more the mix being fed to the feed is fucked up
THis is the soundboard audio and not how the audience heard the show.
I was there and the only sound issue for me was the vocals being too quiet.
It's gonna be a tough set when the only one running in-ear monitoring is the drummer. This mix ain't helping things either. o_0 I hope it at least sounded better in the crowd.

he had a nervous breakdown huehue

Sylvain especially.
I mean, look at him...
I've seen some friends of mine stoned and they didn't look that lost...
Idk they sounded pretty great to me
Too bad the original lineup won’t comeback. Soil work and Opeth were my jam.
Two original members. Singer and keyboard player
This looks like a band made up of accountants haha
lol but a great fuckn lot of them!
Dad rock's never been so brutal.
HAHAHAHA! Just what I thought. Soilwork is a classic though imo. Didn't know they still played.

Only thing missing from this set is The Flameout 🤘🏻
Buddy can scream but cant sing. Its painful live wow!!!
Ive seen em live 4 times and every time I ended up leaving early because the singing vocals were bad. They got worse the further into the set it got.
