Hey all! Long time no see...still working on the vlog from a couple weeks ago. Been super busy. I did film this in the meantime, Aivituvin sent me this cage for review. I hope you can appreciate my honest feedback, I was offered a discount code but I declined just because I wasn't 100% with this product. If you're interested in trying, I'm sure there's other links out there to use. Here is the general link for the product though: aivituvin.com/collections/guinea-pig-cage/products/aivituvin-air56-large-wooden-chinchilla-cage/
Yay I am so glad you did a review on this. They had contacted me as well but I declined since I don't really have room for another cage. I appreciate your honesty as I'm sure the rest of the ferret community does!
Oh man, I have a double critter nation and I LOVE it. I’ve tried lots of other cages before I made my purchase and I definitely think the critter nation or the ferret nation is worth the investment. This cage has a cute idea behind it but I don’t fully love it. Lol. 😂❤
Personally I’m not rlly into the half part flooring. Just wood worries me about ferrets eating em just in case. Not like they are gonna be in cages the whole time.
no shade to the company but as soon as I saw it I didn’t really like it 😢 the wood concerns me the most and honestly the assembling of the ferret nation seems much easier than that. Very cool how they sent you something to try out tho! You can definitely put it to use!
Not gonna lie. Before you had it out of the box I wasn't a fan 😂. We have the Ferplast ferret cage. Would love a review on it! I personally have thought about switching to ferret nation. I picked Ferplast because it has two full levels with 6 inch guards. But the only way between the levels is a tube. Which mine consistently breaks and I had to wire it together. Main reasons I've stayed with it is I like it for the space it offers and I like the guarded sides. My ferrets have IBD accidents happen. The other reason I've stuck with it is they are free roaming except at bedtime. My apartment is ferret proofed and they get along great with my cats. So they really only go in the kennel for bedtime. So mommy can clean up their mess!
I don’t know if this cage was designed for ferrets specifically but just looking at it, I pretty much dislike almost every part of it 😅 I detest only having acces via one door and there is no safe way for your ferrets to get in or out of the cage like this, the half platforms are a safety hazard (it’s a pretty long way down if your ferrets falls), the chickenwire is a safety issue because teeth and nails can get stuck in it (I’ve heard of ferrets literally ripping their ENTIRE nail out because they get stuck in it and then panic), the wood is not sanitary, chew proof, or safe (hello splinters) and the paint is probably a basic wood paint/stain FILLED with chemicals (not good for your fuzzy). So my business would never see the inside (or even outside) of this cage. 😅🤣 Now, my ferrets (like yours) are 100% free-roamers, so I might just be prejudiced against all cages but I do have a Ferret Nation with one of the lower doors taken off (and with a soft doggy-couch-stair-thingie in front of it so the ferrets have easy acces to it) so they can use it as they please 👍 And it works great (easy to clean, safe, very comfy) 👍 They lovelovelove hammocks and that’s why they use it, mostly (and because there is always food and water in there too) 👍 I’ve outfitted it with two homemade felted cat caves (the ferrets think they are the best things ever btw❤️), put two wool pet beds with blankets in there too, some homemade sleeping bags and padded each and every platform so they are soft everywhere 👍 It has a nice dark cotton custom cover over it, so it is always a dark sleepy space and they really use it quite often. 👍
Great video, I think it's a great review. It's not a cage I'd go for, but it can work out for some people for sure. It's pretty, but feels like you could make it yourself. Thank you for making this review and I'm happy to see you again! Hope you have a wonderful week, keep it up. x
