    I read the book you mentioned concerning Christ’s sufferings of His Passion and death. I cried many times and had to stop reading. It took days before I finished it. Every Catholic should read it, because it shows us how much Jesus loves us. No man could have stayed alive that long, just after the scourging alone.May God help us to know, love, and serve Him. Thank you Father for this much needed teaching 🙏🏻

    Wow that was amazing! If people only knew what Christ really went thru for us they'd be in the confessional all the time. It's one thing to love Jesus it's another to respect, suffer honor and repent for him. So many don't understand and this Jesus died once for me so I'm saved no matter what is so wrong. If they really knew what they put him through, if this was taught from ever pulpit maybe people would think differently and be remorseful for their sins. Thank God for good traditional priests who are trying to save souls and not be afraid to make people open their eyes and not afraid of teaching truth.

      John 5:34 tells us ....”so you might be saved” St. Paul says, “ I work out my salvation daily with fear and trembling.”
      Why would they say this? Because Jesus did died for us so that we would be saved.That’s true. What is also true is that we all have free will. This is why it says in Galatians to watch out lest you will fall. The race is not over until you die. When we turn to sin we reject Jesus and all of his saving works and we fall (sin). EVERY SINGLE MOMENT UNTIL THE MOMENT WE DIE, by our free will and actions WE decide whether to accept the salvation Jesus gives us. If we keeping on living a sinful life with the presumption that we are saved anyway, we are in reality saying no to that salvation. Remember When Jesus told the woman that had been caught in adultery that she was forgiven but to go and sin no more. That message was not just for her but for us too.

    Which, “mystics,” said what he says they said around ~16:00?

    • @SperoinDeo
      @SperoinDeo 6 лет назад +1

      Almost certainly Ann Catherine Emmerich and Mary of Agreda. Christ dictated what happened to Emmerich and the Blessed Virgin Mary dictated the history of the world and her life to Sr. Mary of Agreda. These were done separately at different times. The Catholic Church has said they are not required to be believed (since the Catholic Church said that public revelation ended with the death of the last apostle), but it determined that these accounts did not run contrary to either holy scripture or Tradition, in fact they are perfectly in line with it. I've read the Mystical City of God (abridged) by Sr. Mary of Agreda and it is amazing -- I highly recommend it. Both these women were very holy. There is a sermon on Sr. Mary of Agreda titled "Blessed Maria de Agreda, the REAL Flying Nun" on youtube.

    • @attiasprouse682
      @attiasprouse682 6 лет назад

      Jason T I’ve read Bl. ACE. She disagrees with Ven. MA. on events. (Did God show them different things? Did they interpret/remember things wrong? Was one (or were both) liar(s), or mentally deranged? [I’ve not checked into why they are at the titles they are but not canonized.])
      Besides this, these are not the only mystics we have. I really want to know which mystics.
      If the person who posted the video could ask the priest and get back to us, that would be great. If somebody knows a mystic particularly well and give me a source, I’d appreciate that as well.

    • @SperoinDeo
      @SperoinDeo 6 лет назад +2

      I wouldn't jump to the conclusion they were deranged or liars, personally. These were very holy women chosen by God to relay a story. I'm not an expert on either story, and I've never heard the assertions you are making. I'm not denying there are differences, but there are differences in the gospels, too. Do we call the gospel writers liars or deranged, or did they see things from a different point of view?

    • @attiasprouse682
      @attiasprouse682 6 лет назад

      Jason T I believe you mentioned in your first post, neither are required for belief, so, the comparison with The Gospels isn’t fair.
      The Liars accusation: hasn’t been disproven. It is something that, should another miracle be attributed to one or both, I’m sure will come up by the opposition (if something has been found) during the Canonization hearing.
      It’s not just mere discrepancies, though, if I recall correctly, it’s like they cannot be reconciled.
      I have the four volume book of The Life of Jesus as well as The Life of Mary by Bl. ACE. If somebody will post what Ven. MA says, I can find what Bl. ACE says.
      BUT, these may not even be the mystics being talked about at the ~16:00 minute mark.

      I don't remember the name of the person but there is a chaplet, the 15 secret tortures of Jesus, that was supposedly given to a nun. Vatican.com has said this is false and they give several reasons why. The one that convinced me is that there is no evidence of these wounds on the Shroud of Turin. It is difficult to see His REAL wounds as significant after having devoted time to the false chaplet. The nun also is not venerable, blessed or raised to sainthood, that l can find.

  • @SperoinDeo

    This priest's otherwise good sermon has some serious problems: specifically, when he talked about the Orthodox "Christians" as martyrs. This would imply that they went to heaven, when dogmatic statements have clearly stated that they are outside the church. Additionally, he quotes Luke 23:38 but stops short of naming contraception, why?

    • @standev1
      @standev1 6 лет назад +1

      Tim, it's not that we don't want people to get to Heaven. It's not good because it's an error, because it's false. Spreading this error may cause the loss of souls.

    • @platformwagar1303
      @platformwagar1303 5 лет назад +2

      To die for Christ is martyrdom. And yes, they are in heaven, even by Catholic teachings. Read the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
      "Outside the Church there is no salvation"
      846 How are we to understand this affirmation, often repeated by the Church Fathers?335 Re-formulated positively, it means that all salvation comes from Christ the Head through the Church which is his Body:
      Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it.336
      847 This affirmation is not aimed at those who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ and his Church:
      Those who, through no fault of their own, do not know the Gospel of Christ or his Church, but who nevertheless seek God with a sincere heart, and, moved by grace, try in their actions to do his will as they know it through the dictates of their conscience - those too may achieve eternal salvation.337
      848 "Although in ways known to himself God can lead those who, through no fault of their own, are ignorant of the Gospel, to that faith without which it is impossible to please him, the Church still has the obligation and also the sacred right to evangelize all men."338
      This is taken straight from the Catechism.

Surely, if one cannot find a baby sitter, one can stay home and then watch the video on RUclips.

      @@hardeho Is this a lecture or a sermon? I note the time length and I myself thought it odd to bring a baby to an hour-long lecture. Mass is a whole different thing, and people holding extensive conversations during Mass are different than a fussy child. If an old lady is giving someone a dirty look it’s because of the disrespectful talking and interruption during what is supposed to be a prayerful time, not because she’s trying to be mean.

    Thank you Father, so much insights & reflections meditating the Passions of Jesus Christ, but Id like to pick the Last Drop of blood and the original sin of Adam & Eve... Jesus came to redeem & restore what Adam & Eve had lost and to destroy the works of the devil, which is our slavery to sins. The serpent came to the garden i believe not in a horrible form but in beatiful form with physical beauty that resembles descriptions in Exekiel 28..Remember God does not remove Lucifers gifts when St. Michael cast him out. But the serpent with beauty & gifts still possessed cunningly deceive Eve thru conversation in contrast to Mary's silence. Anything that God made was holy, the body & the earth was a virgin.. But the body(flesh & blood) was defiled by the sexual act of Adam & Eve.. The body was defiled and worst the earth/ground was defiled too by the first blood coming from Eve that Adam had broken in the Womb of Eve.That's why the last drop of Jesus signifies the complete redemption not just of Adam & Eve but the holy ground that was defiled/infected by the original sin thus hereby complete the promised of a new creation. Transforming our body & blood dead to sins into Jesus glorified flesh thru receiving the Holy Eucharist. Thats why Jesus said unless we eat his flesh & drink his blood we have no life. Thank you Jesus for healing our wounds and restoring divine life in us. Godbless. S&IHMMP4us.Amen

      God commanded them to fruitful and multiply. God made spousal sex holy.

    • @jongricafort4
      @jongricafort4 6 лет назад

      Jeff Finkbonner be fruitful and multiply does not mean procreation... Remember Eve was only given to Adam as companion/helper not yet her spouse before the fall... Read again genesis. Adam able to named the woman only after the fall, thats the only time Eve become under the authority of Adam, but clearly before the fall companionship is their relationship and the extent of freedom pertains not to do the sexual act until God said so...or in the teaching of the Church Father Adam & Eve must attain Theosis first. Meditating the passages will help you. Godbless

    • @standev1

      Sorry, this interpretation of the Fall comes from which Church Fathers specifically?

    • @jongricafort4
      @jongricafort4 6 лет назад

      standev1 its well written in book of genesis, Church Fathers and Cathechism of the Catholic Church states a Woman was given to Adam as a helper or companion only before the fall.. Read the punishment or cursed for your reflections... God blessed the union only of Adam & the Woman after the fall as couples as we knew it today husband & wife and the sexual procreation was now allowed by God. Adam now named the Woman Eve,and was now subject to his authority.. Read the CCC and church fathers teaching on divination. /theosis thats the first calling of adam & eve not married state... Godbless

      Jong, in other words you can't back this interpretation of yours with any authority of the Church Fathers. This goes against Tridentine Creed, where we solemnly promise: "Neither will I ever take and interpret [the Scriptures] otherwise than according to the unanimous consent of the Fathers"
