@@MineGirl3390 yup. They wanted to be the savest tunnel in the world. But they overkilled it a bit. Same for all the fire hydrants(the lights on the wall). Most expensive piece of road per m2. But it means you can go from east to west of leiden from highway(a4) to highway(a44) without going trough the city with all its stop lights. And everybody loves the tunnel. The traffic has been reduced alot. Queiter to.
Nice tunnel. It's better late than never to be built, and it's a common case that you have to wait decades for the first ideas for a new route.
Mooie infrastructuur. Doortrekken naar N11 zou ideaal zijn.
Leuke video!
Does anyone know why there's so many cameras on the walls? I understand some have to be there but there's sooo many! Even clusters of 3 or 4.

Nu de A8 en de A9 nog helaas zal die er nooit komen :(
Is there a reason the road through the tunnel wasn’t made a motorway especially since it connects to them at both ends?
It is built and maintained by the province
@@Sven_E Ah fair enough, that makes sense
@@zpduzghr1301I drive there in rush hour and no traffic jam!
@@zpduzghr1301 I drive every day to work so only a little bit of traffic at the end and begin of the tunnel!
Just opened and in the news the people that live near the old road in Leiden said that there were less trucks less cars and no traffic jam anymore!
