And I don’t care about national games unless it involves my favorite team.
Amazon Prime has over 200 million subscribers worldwide. Even if there are no new subscribers, that's still 200 million people who will have access to watch NBA games (assuming they are available to all Prime members). That's significant leverage Amazon can use because that's 200 million worldwide, not just in the US. And there are millions of people who can't even watch NBA games right now who will suddenly have access to games. Amazon doesn't have to offer anything that even comes close to the production or entertainment of Inside the NBA. They only averaged about 1-2 million viewers anyway. I don't like the decision at all, but I understand why the NBA did it, just as they stuck with terrible ESPN.
@atlien1988 Ya fair point but I can tell you right now I'm not going out of my way on a Wednesday night to go on Amazon prime to watch a regular season nba game where the starters are resting and not even trying. So I would say less Americans will watch it but more non Americans will watch it.
The narratives you guys are on,tell me which league doesn't experience injuries to their top players also tell me which league where the players tell their teams they don't feel like playing...teams rest players on the advice of their medical staff, happens in every league even the almighty NFL
Outside of following my favorite team, the only reason i ever watched other games was the Inside the NBA crew....the real crew, not the bench squad. I stopped watching games on espn after they got rid of Mark Jackson and crew. I guess I'll be down to warching nothing but my team after next season.
Charles kept it real..he would talk about the nba turning into wwe..he spoke out on how they talk about the lakers everyday and they are barely a play-in team. I will miss them
TNT - is dead, the minute inside NBA gets tossed. I can’t remember the last time I tuned in to TNT to watch a show or movie, this is a travesty I remember when it first started when I was in high school 😢
NBA didn't take it away, one suit took it away and it wasn't Silver. This is one person's fault. The money isn't even. Amazon paid for 3 years, WBD was doing a line of credit, those are not the same thing.
The NBA clearly doesn't want TNT covering the games anymore and sees the potential Amazon Prime subscribers as more beneficial than what Inside the NBA can provide. NBA viewership in America on linear TV is dwindling, so they can combat that by offering more of their games to one of the biggest subscription platforms available. Forget the fans. They just want the money, even if it destroys the sport, which is why viewership was down. Look at the most recent All-Star game as an example.
A couple things: first, the Ernie said he wasn’t going to work for any other network. Then the rest of the crew said that if Ernie isn’t going then they’re not going.
@joshuainadagbo4771 they don't care as long as they are generating billions. Look up the revenue that they made last year and see if no one is watching and buying merchandise.
The NBA didn't take it away. Make no mistake about it...matching the offer doesn't make up for the lack of infrastructure and vision for the product that Turner has failed to provide. Blame Turner for not taking it seriously and planning things out for this day that everyone knew was coming.
Y’all mad at the NBA for calling TNTs bluff? TNT was betting the fan criticism would affect the NBAs decision and it didn’t work. They gambled when they didn’t have to and lost.
I think it's smart actually. Barkley and crew is going to retire soon anyway, even if they got the contract. Without Charles, the show wouldn't be that good. Why not go digital and try a new direction? I am a prime subscriber, so I am all for it lol
So it’s the NBA fault that TNT didn’t negotiate in appropriate time to evade this entire scenario? If a house is available for sale and you decide you’ll go get it at an auction and someone offers better than you at auction we should blame the seller?
I imagine the NBA got tired of Shaq and Barkley crapping on the product. They have a contractual deal to broadcast and promote the league, but they literally don't watch the games they're slated to cover, or rant about how things were in the 90s and 2000s, call everyone bums and actually tell fans not to watch games. Not to mention purposely butchering the international players' names, insulting stars during interviews and they best analysis they can come up with is that everyone is a bum or idiot, "Google me Chuck", "So and so is a damn moron", or barkley is legit sleeping. With the amount of money domestically and internationally the league is pulling in, Silver doesn't want that. That's not what the owners, commissioner and PA agreed to.
All things, good or bad, must and will come to an end at some point. I enjoy Inside the NBA as much as anyone, but the truth is that NBA itself as a product has been declining for a long time. Players are overpaid, viewership is declining, marquee teams turning into farces (the LA Lakers don't even exist any longer since last month--it's now the LA Lebrons (same initials, though)), and the style of play makes it unwatchable much of the time (shooting 3s all the time, no defense). The final straw may be if the Dream Team (maybe they're not calling them that anymore, but it's basically still an all-star team) loses (again) to lowly teams in the Olympics, exposing all of the issues listed above. South Sudan could be just the prescursor.
I wonder how many subscribers Max has just from people who are there for NBA games? I know it was the only reason I ever subscribed. And only during the Finals. Having NBA on Amazon and NBC will be a lot more accessible. NBC is OTA. And I already pay for prime. So it will be nice to save the $10/month
Literally canceled my Direct TV after 10 years. Told my wife Inside the NBA was the only reason I held onto cable. If I want sports, I joined FuboTV. Always in my heart Earnie, Chuck, Kenny, Shaq
Some key points yall didn’t mention was that TNT could never match the global reach, advertising commitments, up front cash & access to streaming that Amazon Prime offers. Doesn’t mean I’m pleased about the decision either but with Chuck & Shaq both committing to retiring post next year the dye may have already been cast. WBD/TNT certainly knew this. My guess is this “matching” offer was just a head fake to satiate some stockholders.

@@atlien1988 The most ratings the NBA has seen since 1998 is 28.1 million back in 2016. Since then the average ratings around 10.2 million
Look at the number of millennials and Gen Zers who subscribe to Amazon. How many do you think subscribe to cable TV? 🤣
Inside the nba was the only thing consistent with the nba since the players always hurt and don’t wanna play
I will miss them
Parker speaking the real
TNT - is dead, the minute inside NBA gets tossed.
I can’t remember the last time I tuned in to TNT to watch a show or movie, this is a travesty I remember when it first started when I was in high school 😢
NBA didn't take it away, one suit took it away and it wasn't Silver. This is one person's fault. The money isn't even. Amazon paid for 3 years, WBD was doing a line of credit, those are not the same thing.
TNT: " We know drama"
It's not personal it just business y'all 😂😂😂. Amazon and NBC don't hire Draymond Green
Exactly. Who cares who airs the games as long as they make it accessible in a reasonable matter.
5real plzzzz don’t
Yea people are getting their emotions into this and taking it personal when this is all just business.
It’s sad 😞 there is no more Inside The NBA.
What a wonderful show. I’m going to miss it a lot.👌🏽
Tnt messed around and found out...they acted like loyalty was part of this relationship and found out. TNT Warner slow played and got shut out
The slap in the face was from TNT , not NBA. TNT chose not to go after it in the first place, don’t do this switcheroo
Having all the streaming services is more expensive than cable ever was...
I don't have cable anymore, but I have Netflix and Amazon Prime
I have IPtv. So, I've cable TV and all sreaming services for $5 a month 😂😂😂
AMAZON is the future TNT ain’t, normal TV is about to be finished everything is now online.
Let those guys go. It's time for them to go do the podcast thing
A couple things: first, the Ernie said he wasn’t going to work for any other network. Then the rest of the crew said that if Ernie isn’t going then they’re not going.
Man the NBA ratings are about to be dumb low lmao
they been low
@@VicDamoneJr82 correction, all time low lol but they gonna lie and tell us everyone is watching lmao
@@joshuainadagbo4771 exactly people are funny Amazon is just creating a monopoly
@joshuainadagbo4771 they don't care as long as they are generating billions. Look up the revenue that they made last year and see if no one is watching and buying merchandise.
It's amazing what you can buy when you don't pay taxes. Subsidized spaceships, TNF and now the NBA.
I think the NBA did exactly what they did to the Seattle Supersonics. They lied and didn't care about the fans, period.
TNT blew it with this one
Get Adam silva and lebum outta here
Adam Silver has destroyed the nba period
The NBA didn't take it away. Make no mistake about it...matching the offer doesn't make up for the lack of infrastructure and vision for the product that Turner has failed to provide. Blame Turner for not taking it seriously and planning things out for this day that everyone knew was coming.
I agree 100%
Regular season viewer numbers on Amazon are going to be so LOW.
NBA has died since Jordan retired
No when kobe retired . Everything officially changed when mamba out.
Y’all mad at the NBA for calling TNTs bluff? TNT was betting the fan criticism would affect the NBAs decision and it didn’t work. They gambled when they didn’t have to and lost.
Am I the only one who doesn’t care care about “Inside the NBA”, I’m excited to see a new team
I'm with that. I've been waiting for something different.
Yeah it's been 20 years so this is a great idea.
They’re always talking about tv rights and the deals increasing but if you look at the product you can’t justify it.
It's about time they got cancelled
Losing inside the nba as an nba fan is like losing toys r us as a 90s kid
It’s Time to Move On. 2024 thought us that. It’s a New Era 🗣️
Over the years I’ve found myself tuning in to the games just to watch Inside the NBA
I’m not gonna waste my time on watching the NBA again without “Inside The NBA”
Sure buddy 😂😂
Dare I say, are we outside the nba now??
Inside The NBA has to send themselves fishing
What people in the back don’t realize is that cable is dying and it’s too damn expensive nowadays.
Waiting for more exciting excuses 🤣
@@christopherking4932silver said himself that he wanted outta the cable business
Under the table
They can find another Ernie Johnson
The chemistry on his show can’t be found. There won’t ever be another show like it.
No they can't. Ernie is special, best in the business.
The NBA is such a an amazing product that TNT didn’t even care if they got it back. Says a lot about the current state of the league.
I haven't watched the regular season in many many many years. However, I certainly watched inside the NBA clips all the time regularly.
Don't blame NBA, blame WBD for playing with their food...
Y'all are missing the point. If TNT said we don't need y'all don't come back later with an offer. Eat those words
This sucks, I hope the guys just do their own show on RUclips ! Live stream it , bring people on from the crew. They have the resources to do it!
Amazon Prime: 200+ million subscribers
TNT: 50 million subscribers
Rob: EVERYONE DOESN’T HAVE AMAZON!!!
It's a business decision. NBA has found a new huge partnership with Amazon. Media works like that. TNT messed up...
The NBA product sucks now. It's probably best for Inside to end while still on top.
Why would the NBA stay with TNT for another 11 years if inside the nba only has like 3 years max after Chuck leaves.
Life goes on. Enough of the fake drama queens. Get over it. Business is business.
Rob hit it right! Inside the nba is” comfort food” for us fans! I will miss those guys!
Inside the NBA were getting old. I guess it's time to get some new youth
Not a slap in the face to me....Charles and Shaq turned that show into a comedy show
This is TNTs fault not the NBAs.
Wasnt Charles going to retire anyways?
You're spelling Zaslav wrong
Sometime I only watch “Inside the NBA” because of the crew not because of the games lol
Adam silver would have been fired if he accepted TNT deal
Can't call it greed because TNT matched Amazon Contract but NBA feels that Amazon will reach a bigger Audience, In other words, More Viewers.
In other words: Mo money, mo money, mo money!
Literally canceled my Direct TV after 10 years. Told my wife Inside the NBA was the only reason I held onto cable. If I want sports, I joined FuboTV. Always in my heart Earnie, Chuck, Kenny, Shaq
RIP to the best show. Idk how long TNT will be around without it.
Inside the nba need to just hire a production company and have the show stream on,amazon, netflix or RUclips
