As Moroka Swallows legend Joel "Ace" Mnini turned 61-years old on March 15th 2020, #sms channel's S'Busiso Mseleku took up the opportunity to reflect on Aces' former glory days with the "Dube Birds".
Two INCREDIBLE LEGENDS right here. When I started supporting Swallows, Ace was the man, and later on when I started reading the The Sowetan's back page S'bu was the writer of that page.... RIP Bra S'bu.
My best game by Ace Mnini was the 1980 Swallows v Chiefs, 5-5 draw. I am a Chiefs fan, but Ace Mnini was at the top of his game on that day. One of the revered legends of the NPSL Era.
Ace Sesha Mseshi Mnini ,I remember dribbling four Wits players at corner ,his boot came out and continued playing with one boot and the defenders shouting instructions at each other. Again, I remember him dribbling Ryder Mofokeng and the Jackie Masike telling Ryder to kick Ace Mnini. 😂😂😂😂😂❤ Joel Sesha Mseshi Mnini.Those were the days 😢😢😢
