Lichelf Guys, calm down. They got a different shot in the cutscene. So Vaas is still talking to you, but from what I am guessing, it doesn't use your whole body when you are playing. So, if it was in third person, you wouldn't see anything. The only thing that would be there is probably an invisible camera, which explains the point of view of the player.
Its really a shame Vaas wasnt involved in the story more. He had such powerful scenes in the short amount that he was involved in. I rarely see a villain that grabs my attention right off the beat like he did in the beginning of the game. His mannerisms, his voice, his accent and dark eyes, scar....simply a great character. I REALLY would like to see an entire game made about his story and how he got to be who he is. The role his sister played, Hoyts influence etc....

I actually miss those dialogues in to the final version of the game. I believe they had greater plans for a more immersive story and we only had a slice of it.

In a game such as Far Cry 3, the character does not need to have their body rendered because the game can only be played in first person, and thus only require a first person model. A first person model would be the hands and gun model that you see on your screen in a first person game. Those are rendered only on your screen and nobody other than you can see them, which is the reason Vaas appears to be talking to a tree in this video.

Yeah a lot of fans have been asking for a DLC where you get to play as Vaas. Hopefully, Ubisoft will take note, because I personally never bother with DLC's, but that would be so epic even I couldn't resist buying it.

And also, everything that Jason does throughout the game, he does in order to save his friends. So having him kill them at the end makes absolutely no effing sense. Especially since he had already decided he was going to save them and then stay.
the point of the game isn't about just saving your friends, through out the game, jason slowly realizes that what he is fighting in order to save them, is also the same thing he must embrace... Insanity. it is only at the end of the game you decide if you are still human or the same as vaas.

This trailer gave me the chills seeing this at age 13 wanting it so bad.
I must say, Far Cry 3 was the best Far Cry in the series. It just had a bit of everything to become a pretty unique game.
