  • Spending three weeks in Norway was magical and we are glad it wasn’t any shorter. I mean, look at the incredible scenery there is to explore! An entire summer could be spent moving slowly from fjord to fjord alone. We’ve been to Iceland, New Zealand and nearly every country in the European Alps, but Norway just might be the most beautiful country in the world 🌍.

    I love Norway.
    In 1995 I was at the North Cape by motorbike, in 1997 by car in Alta and in 2011 in a motorhome in Fjord Norway.
    Today I have health problems and can no longer do what I want.
    When I watch this video it brings tears to my eyes.

    Norway has some of the most stunning landscapes I have ever seen. Decades ago we traveled through the south of Norway in a motorhome. Traveling with four adults, we had a vehicle that was enough for six people. Every time it rained we moved and every time the weather was nice we stayed in one place. I remember the unique experience of absolute silence there. For a Central European who is used to the constant sound of cars, planes and trains, it sometimes felt like being deaf. It was wonderful.

    Honestly, I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for this truly beautiful video. This video has the potential to persuade anyone who desires to visit Norway. I've been following your videos, and it's been an incredible journey you've taken us on, truly inspiring!
    As a great fan of Switzerland, I couldn't help but notice that some of the places you visited in this video bear a striking resemblance to Switzerland, such as Lauterbrunnen Valley and the Giesbach Waterfall. However, it's evident that Norway possesses its own unique charm with its distinctive houses and landscapes.

    If you had been further north in Norway, north of the Arctic circle you would have experienced clear blue sky and tropical temparatures. Thats how the weather was during the flood down south this summer. When you are lucky with the the weather in Norway, then everything is even more fantastic and spectacular. But it is still nice even when its cloudy.

    Late August the puffins fly out from Runde and over the atlantic ocean. Your best chance to see them are when they're nesting; March to early August. In those weather conditions if there were any left they'd probably stay and hide under a bush or something.

    It’s so nice and fascinating to see your reactions. I grew up in rural Norway myself, but we’d go on road trips with the family every holiday, either to the west or the north or other places, so most if not all of the places you are visiting, I have childhood and youth memories as well.
    I have to add though, that even growing up in Norway and seeing the scenery frequently, I am still amazed by the beauty of many places every time I see them.

    The weather has been interesting this summer. Quite a few beautiful days, but also lots of rain.
    Here in western Norway it wasn't that bad, the landscape is shaped by the water and for the most part the rain quickly runs off into the fjords. Eastern Norway wasn't that lucky, with weeks of flooding and massive damages.

    And as you are freecamping a lot, by fjords and lakes, you need a fishing rod and som fishing hooks for seewater and freshwater. All places exept rivers are free fishing. And then you kan lower your food expenses. :)

    Just a warning as you seem to enjoy traveling. The usage of drones has become strict in Norway, but i assume it's the same for all EU countries. For usage in Norway you have to register your drone and take a exam depending on the size/weight of your drone. Drones also require a valid liability insurance. Illegal drone operations can be punished with fines or prison, and may lead to confiscation of your drone.

    Loved both videos from my beautiful country. I have been to almost all the places and hikes you did, and you have captured a great variety of what Norway has to offer when it comes to scenic sights. A little complaint though...As a photographer and a dronephotographer, it seems in some of your shots that you don`t care much about the law og Drone flying here in Norway which states that you can`t fly in most national parks (Without spesific permission) and you can`t fly above 120meters (Again if you don`t have the right sertificate and permissions). Hope you read up on the rules in the next country you`re visiting! :)

Anyway, thanks for so many views you have provided us and this always, especially in Norway, touches always my heart and soul. I also can quietly sitting there and just watching. Great that Willa has fun and Noa also smiles a lot. She is so cute as well. This was just one part of Norway. Did you realize the light is sometimes somwhow different ? Well, go up further north omce and visit Senya, Andoya, Versteralen and the Lofoten. More incredible views, good hikes, beaches will waiting for you. Dont miss the Skulptues Northland and may be a puffin or whale watching tour from Andenes or Stö. Fastes way is via Sweden. You will make such a tour once for sure. CU

    Hey guys, that was interesting! You are some of my favourite youtubers. I had never heard of a gannet either, but then I looked up the German word and apparently it is "Tölpel". Didn't know this was a bird either, but just as a term for bumpkin. (They seem a bit clumsy while walking, these birds, but then are able to fly smoothly.) But it was so interesting, learning about a new species and them not having the nicest of names, in German 😬 But I s'ppose they don't mind 🤷

    But also the same with me. I love visiting Germany. Been there about 8-10 times. Because of close family friends of mine.
    But the entire European Continent is worth a visit. Besides Russia, where 85% of the entire population lives on the European side. But the majority of land-territory is located on the Asian continent. But due to brainwashing, propaganda, corruption. Russians are NOT Europeans in terms of basic values

    As a Norwegian, as beauitful western Norway is, this country is more than the generic fjords. We have white sandy beaches to even rainforest like bioms, to arctic tundra, valleys, river deltaes to deep forests. Maybe because I grew up with this, and «been there done that» which make me take it for granted, but to most of us this is nothing special. Just regular Norwegian nature… I’d say Iceland and the Faroese islands are more beautiful and majestic. I also hate going to these places because they are run down by thousands of tourists which also ruins our nature and cultural heritage sites as it can’t handle the heavy human traffic. Then you have all the littering, people stealing or destroying sites by taking parts of buildings as memorabilia, and pollution.

    My dear American friend, as often as I see you jump into cold water, I also see you die because the water is so cold that the vessels to your heart can narrow so much that you suffer a heart attack. Very dangerous.

    • @OurStorytoTell

      I appreciate the concern. However, I have also heard that a heart attack is more likely to happen when the weather is quite warm/hot and then you jump into the cold water.

      This is bullshit. Swimming in cold water is healthy and refreshing for any normal person. It may feel as a shock to the system to jump in, but people of all ages benefit greatly from baths in a natural environment year around.

    • @kingsolaa
      @kingsolaa Год назад +4

      Who told you that ridiculous thing. A dip in cold water is actually good for your health and not at all dangerous. The only danger is hypothermia if you stay in too long.

    • @nordwestbeiwest1899
      @nordwestbeiwest1899 Год назад

      @@kingsolaa : Now this statement from you only suggests that you are too young and have no idea what happens to your blood vessels when they suddenly suffer a cold shock. Of course you can bathe in cold water, but you can't just jump in because then the blood vessels to the heart suddenly constrict The heart no longer receives blood, which in turn leads to cardiac arrest. That's why you take some water and get used to it in the seconds before you jump into the water and moisten your arms, legs and chest with the water where you jump in to get used to the cold of the water to get used to it so that the vessels slowly narrow a little. Everyone should have learned the biology of the human body in elementary school! As he wrote, if your body is 37° warm and jumps into water that is 5° - 15° warm and suddenly, you can die because of the body's spontaneous protective reaction.

    • @kingsolaa
      @kingsolaa Год назад +7

      @@nordwestbeiwest1899 You can also die of a heart attack standing up from your couch too quickly. As a Scandinavian I've never in my 53 year old life heard of anyone dying from a heart attack by jumping in cold water, and we do 90° saunas in the winter and jumps in 2° water. It's considered to be good for your health, NOT bad.
