Our country is run by people who have a tribal mindset! Whatever is happening will go on happening ! Mr Shabar Zaidi sb is a learned person and is well aware of the ground realities of our system and his opinions are very informative and commendable!
The GCC countries are also tribals but there leadership is sincere with there land and people. They want to prosper and became a part of global economy. They are not fools. Problem in Pakistan is hypocrisy, dishonesty and lack of law.
Frankness is like close family members. Amazing flow. 20 minutes into discussion and it feels like I am sitting in my own drawing room with two elders speaking on issues waiting for my turn haha.
Shabar Zaidi is brilliant and intelligent. Really like his sense of humour - basically, this is a free lecture on the history of Pakistan and how this country is run.

Firstly: not a think tank. One is an enormously experienced Chartered Accountant, the other is relatively less experienced politician. They are having a drawing room style discussion on events, using anecdotes.

@@free.thinker.bulls hit, SHABBAR resigned in 8 months when he had a clear understanding that nothing can be changed in this system. Instead of taking perks benefits for the remianing years of government he opted to resign respectfully and leave the office with dignity.

When he was in power, what did he achieve except being a toady of a bureaucrate.
Nonsense, Shabbar left the Chairman position in FBR when he realised he has no powers and need to compromise. He didn't cling on the chair for perks and benefits.

The previous episode was very well executed, like capturing lightening in a bottle.
Mr Shabbar brings balance to the conversation and he has shown he's the most well informed and knowledgeable person in the room.
As we're all human with some deficiencies, his might be that as an office bearer he lacks the emotional stamina to deal with a large amount of public members and their narratives / baggage
So, when we see India continuously growing in the IT sector and because of their potential, Mr. Shabbar Zaidi predicts that Indians will run the Gulf states, so that's not ilme ghaib? And if Henry Kissinger predicts based on his expertise in global politics and the power to control economies and governments, shouldn't we believe what he says?

I willgive you an example.. he thinks government let go the family of the the killer of Liaquat Ali khan.. why should relatives of a killer be punished for a crime they didn't do ?

I didn't say he wasn't the killer.. he indeed was the killer and was killed on spot by guards...his wife and children were barracaded in a house for years to be investigated and be saved from any murder attempts ....at the end when they were found innocent they were allowed to go. Right after that moment unknown arranged visa for them and got them settled abroad.its pretty evident they can be those in our bureaucrats who wanted to keep them away from our courts in case they blame them or a foreign power that saved them..but zaidi believes his family were also involved in the murder.. that's a stretch
