I've used to read up and watch videos on how clutch type LSD work. But that is a far better break down into the clutch disc and what you can do with them is awesome
@@tougedriver8358 there is certainly a lot of misunderstanding around clutch type diffs, once you realize exactly how much adjustability they can have (depending on brand as well for 1, 1.5, 2 way adjustability) between plate stacking, preload and breakaway, as well as chemical adjustment (friction modifier to REDUCE total friction) it becomes a great choice of diff! Helical and Viscous have their place as well but clutch type is really the best for finite tuning and mixed use while not sacrificing peak performance
Living in Canada I feel your pain. You spend more time getting rusted bolts and parts off than actually doing the work. Love the car, I have always wanted one of those, keep the vids coming
I bought my ST205 from a guy in Calgary. I am quite familiar with rusted bolts and the problems associated. SeaFoam Deep Creep penetrating oil is the best I have ever come across. If you can let it sit overnight, try to and it'll make things much, much easier.
This is some of the best content I’ve seen!!!!!!! Super to the point, not dumb vlogs and even the cars are all super unique and cool that we have seen a lot of anywhere else yet
You don't need to whack the brake discs. Theres a hole in each disc to insert an 8mm bolt. Just spray some WD40 into the hole, screw the bolt in and out a little bit at a time to clean out the thread, then tighten it in completely. The disc will just pop off no matter how rusted on it is.
Great content on the GT-Four Ryan, really enjoying seeing what you do with the car. I'm also rebuilding a white 1997 ST205 so is really interesting seeing what you're doing with yours... with a much higher budget! (: Enjoy
I'm going to recommend this video to people who don't know differentials or how adjustments could alter the nature of the car. (Super jelly of ya man, you got some of the coolest cars in the world Mr. Tuerck)
Wow really quickly becoming a fan of Seamus and his work at TCS. He really seems knowledgeable on a ton of cars. Really looking forward to more of what he builds in the future.
St205 This was my first car as a teenager, such a special place in my heart. Not enough boosted high end builds on these, making me want another even more.
Great video keep it up! A little cheat with your manual boost controller, turn your Water-Air charge cooler pump on full time to help with the added heat from the boost... Loving the full race ST165 GT4 in the background
I just welded my own BC Racing cups into the lower legs of the KYBs I cut apart. Well, let's just say, it doesn't look quite as clean as yours and leave it at that ... ;-). Your series on this ST205 could not have come at a better time, as I am doing what I can to make mine what I want. I did notice one modification I have performed which you have not (yet) the 3M Windoweld rear diff cushion rebuild! All bets are off when you own a JDM car in the U.S.!
Loved the supra build. That was all out and above and beyond. But just wanted to let you know I also really enjoy these Celica video's! Just a nice, tasteful, simple build on a nice car. You don't always need a gazillion horsepower in a super flashy but often super expensive build to just have a little fun. Keep it coming!
You are so fortunate to have the money to buy a gt four wrc and to have your car fixed and reapired at a celica specialist here there aren’t any where I live
Gd Idea replacing the Torsen they only handle Ltd abuse I’ve got the st185 GT which is like to add one of those too and more boost with a stronger 5sfe block
Hey I know this is not related to the video but I was at the formal drift in Orlando and it was amazing I got picture with Ryan and it that was probably my favorite part of the whole event
@ryantuerck Pro tip, when taking the disc of the car, there is a 8mm tread almost in the center of the disc, insert a 8mm bolt and give it a go with the dugga dugga, and the disc will pop right of :)
This probably isn't the best place to ask but I have a 98 St205 and was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I can order up an aftermarket transmission, the trans in the cars fine but when I finally bring her back to the states, I don't wanna worry about if I end up grenading it, having to find a E154F out of a Caldina GTT or somethin
Hello i have a 95 celica with a gt4 bumper, bonnet and spoiler, however the engine is the 115hp 2.0 non turbo and it is blown, so need a new engine anyway, does anyone know will the gt4 engine be an easy swap in and what gearbox to pair it with as mine i plan to keep fwd? The reason why i decided not to just buy a gt4 is the current price and because i already have a celica shell that needs and engine anyway, any help would be appreciated
dude, you have 2 treaded holes in the rotor, use 2 screw of the good size and tigthen them, the rotor will pop out hammering the rotor gonna shatter your bearings
Removing brake discs the dumb way, AKA "How to kill the wheel bearings the fast way." The OEM Toyota brake discs have M8 sized threads next to the wheel stuts. Screwing in two M8 bolts into these threads pressing off the discs within a minute.
That diff explanation was sweet. Could have watched a whole video of that.
🥰

Absoloutely agree. Plus he could be DeNofas voice double haha.

Left Canada for Mexico and working on a 41yo truck is easy as working on 1.5yo Canadian car... Feel your pain brother!!!

This is my dream car, currently working on getting one imported. This video has me fired up like I've never been to finally drive one.

Excellent comment
I love everything about this Celica GT4 project! Also, those Rotiform wheels are perfection!
I came here to say the same. Everything is spot on.
That diff explanation was really good! Thanks for that.
I love the Celica logo on the brakes that was so satisfying to watch
Love mix of affordabe and pure racing but fancy Rolls cabrio... damn smooth
Great car, great information during the video.
Beautiful ST165 in the background...

only a few big builds but a few more getting done , you can even get a billet block now , mine does a 9.1 1/4
Halo car of mine. I had a 1990 Celica many moons ago. Super fun little back road bomber.
One smart dude with the little bit of knowledge that he shared
Great video keep it up! A little cheat with your manual boost controller, turn your Water-Air charge cooler pump on full time to help with the added heat from the boost... Loving the full race ST165 GT4 in the background
Love the Celica content.
I'm hyped to see this beast in the making in its true form.
Do you still have the st205 celica? No new videos from it. Nice car and uppgrades.

The calipers were well done... gorgeous when finished! Nice car

Gotta love Shamus... Works with the Pros and also the Shmoos.
❤

no flexi joint on that front pipe??? it'll will be interesting to see how long that lasts before it cracks
The celica thankfully is super slept on and is not outrageously expensive to buy from a importer. I hope to own one before that changes.
No that is a proper workshop!
Dope stuff, Rolls Royce cabrio would kill some ass
Loving the build of this classic! It was interesting to learn about the front suspension setup too.
NEED MORE CELICA CONTENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ryan do you have a video or plans used in fabricating the exhaust on your st205
Damn these things aged so well
Proper resto mod the perfect parts so far. Just don’t put a diff in the front u will regret it. Great build
Gd Idea replacing the Torsen they only handle Ltd abuse I’ve got the st185 GT which is like to add one of those too and more boost with a stronger 5sfe block
This Celica content is fire! I love it! Keep it coming!

I see a DHL box. You get stuff from Steve at gt4 play?
Sure did

exactly. didnt get why they were hammering this much 🤣
Just being silly
Any updates on the Celica?
Love this little build I always wanted that car!
Absolutely love these build process videos, your ride is coming out clean 👌 keep the content coming!

Looking forward to this build series! 🔥
I would love to get one of these. Any updates on the car?
My downpipe is just a frickin tight lol I had to take it to an exhaust shop cause it would touch the gearbox causing an annoying buzz
Make a Rolls Royce Royce Cabrio !!!
Wait there are places you don't have to use a dead blow to get off rotors?
Hey bro how did u remove the old super strut receiver? Mine is welded in so i need some advice on where to get a new receiver or grinding them apart
Seamus is top class!
❤
Looks so good. Damn. Imma build this in gran turismo.
What's the plan for the engine you got from PSI racing?
Need a shop like that near me!
Good to see a new video from you Ryan...to say the least man!
Frame rate of the camera is jittery on my end...?
@RyanTuerck what specs are those, not the black frame the see through grey pair ?
I'm here for the donuts
Can’t wait to see it with built engine Brendan is working on now!!
This car is so fucking sick I can't even handle it
MORE CELICA VIDEOS! NOW! 😘
what are you doing to be able to actually break traction and do donuts in the gt4?
That lotus tho 👌
Ryan, thats not what the diff manufacturer meant by 'drive the car in figure 8's slowly to bed in the diff' :D
As an Australian, I'm wondering what a cell licker is?
as a fellow Northman I too like to break rotors with hammers trying to get them off. good times
anymore GT4 updates?
Nice! The spec is heading towards the same as mine, should be a fine steer once done 😍

3 fiddy for the dif.
Celica is looking good 👍
Glad you’re okay Ryan after being sent into the wall!

hammering the rotor gonna shatter your bearings
How much was the Cisco diff and where did you get it I wouldn't mind one for my st205
We are a cusco dealer, the wait time is pretty decent but they are still available
What happend to the st205 ? ...
Hey bro, can I buy? the celica original wheels from you
Great vid lovin the gt4
I spy a ST165 in the background.
Aren’t the new stubs smaller? Cause it’s based on an ae86 lsd?
They are weaker now aren’t they?
Man those wheels remind me of regamasters, wheels I can’t for the life of me find in gold to fit an mr2.
If the diff fit in the front of a Toyota c6 6speed I'd take it off your hands lol love the build Ryan love me some all tracs!
Removing brake discs the dumb way, AKA "How to kill the wheel bearings the fast way." The OEM Toyota brake discs have M8 sized threads next to the wheel stuts. Screwing in two M8 bolts into these threads pressing off the discs within a minute.
One way to break a new Plate LSD in!
You gotta break in the diff! 😁
Just as long as it doesnt get overbuilt like every other youtube car these days
Do a Cressida next!
What's happening with this build?!
thats clean!!!!
Damn how do I get those wheels for my ST165? Also can you send me that guy's info so I can order all that break s*** for my own car?
Beautiful car 👌🏻
sup, lemme drive it.
Nice celica GT4 👍👍👍
I see there is also a Audi TT
Love the project. But hate those wheels.
Have a look at project binky. Gt4 engine box running gear ect, into an old british mini.
Its said celeeka Ryan 😘
More more give me more
You wanna go from 205 to 225? No 215?
Very nice 👌
POV your rear axle bearings are now shot bc you don’t know how to take shit apart
Ah yes more donuts after
Sellica
