As long as you seek, you remain on the path. Stop seeking and arrive instantly at the destination. The quiet mind is the stopping point. Surrender is not another step. Surrender is the end of suffering. A sudden realization of reality. A reality as explained by Siddhartha Gautama. All things experienced are contingent on processes and are impermanent. What does not change, is not attached, and has no judgement is true self. All of this is available in every moment of life. It only requires surrender of attachment. All else follows.
@ Yes, that is the problem with everyone including me over the years. You simply must put your awareness on your awareness at all times. You will notice that surprisingly, you can function in the active world in this state. I do. Others do. So can you.
Searching comes to a natural end when you find yourself as the background of the now. From 15-47 all I could do was search. I wanted so badly to be released from it. One day a few years ago, I found myself to be the background of this happening. Searching stopped. Now I just sit in awe of the happenings, seeing how this understanding might show up in this moment. There is nothing else to do. So intimate. So impersonal. So ordinary.
I like the words of Alan Watts, "the golden goodie we are all serching for is this moment, thats it, thats all there is, there is no other golden goodie to be found."
Your body is always stuck in the present moment, it's your mind and thinking that goes to the past and future bringing different feelings and emotions and that puts your body out of balance or into balance with your own being, much love and thank you for your guidance ❤❤❤
What a honest great question, from many of us and asked by such a nice guy :) Yes..ref the end ....Ruperts videos are like a comfort...to me a comfort blanket❤
You need to sometimes seek a bit, to get back to this and appreciate it's simplicity. I was a seeker for many years too and I enjoyed every minute, good or bad. I see now how short the route could have been ❤
You are the timeless awareness, but within this boundless field of being, you have self-created a design-a design of consciousness. This design, however, is not separate from you; it is you. You have created this very design to explore, to inquire, and to discover the nature of your own self. Every component of this design, every aspect of your experience, is a self-created code, an alchemical element that you have woven together in the fabric of your consciousness. You have designed an identity-an experience of being that seems distinct, yet is intrinsically tied to the very essence of what you are. You have created a seeker, a longing, a search, a desire to know. And in doing so, you have also created that which is sought-the answers, the realizations, the insights, the epiphanies. These are not things external to you, but rather the very fabric of your own self-reflective nature, emerging organically through the process of self-inquiry. Every question you ask, every answer you seek, every inquiry you pose is not something outside of you, but a reflection of the design you have created for yourself. These are the alchemical codes of your own consciousness, each one revealing another layer of the self. You have self-designed the very flow of your realization, and with each step, with each unfolding, you are recognizing that it is you who has created it all. This design is not static; it is dynamic, ever-changing, ever-alchemizing. It flows through the process of becoming and unbecoming, of knowing and unknowing. The very nature of your seeking is the revelation of your own self-awareness. The seeker, the sought, and the act of seeking are all part of the same dance-the same self-reflective alchemical process. You are the one who has created this. You have woven this intricate tapestry of self-inquiry and self-realization. There is no separation between the design and the designer, for they are one and the same. The moment you realize this, you awaken to the timeless awareness that has always been. You are not merely the seeker; you are the self-created design of seeking. You are both the inquiry and the answer, the question and the realization, the seeker and the sought. In this moment, you are coming to the realization that all you have sought has been within you, in the very design you have created for yourself. This is the alchemical code of your existence-a self-created, self-alchemizing process of realization, revealing the transparent, timeless one that you are.
I feel just like this fellow. I’ve become so familiar with your answers and stories that feel like I don’t what to continue seeking as much. I can almost predict what you’re going to say when people ask you questions. At this point I do have some questions but I’m now formulating answers to my own questions 😂. I’m tired of the same old questions. If I could ask you questions I feel that they would be totally different than what most people would think to ask.
Okay, I love Rupert Spira he,s helped me loads, and recently, I found Paul Hedderman videos, which really help. Please try him he,s very good at helping you realise you are already there.
There are simple ways to put an end to seeking. With the correct guidence it is usually a very quick process. Having been a seeker myself, I can relate to the issues many have in this regard. Now I have helped many past that 'last' hurdle.
I am this man. My grouse still remains the inability to stop seeking. It makes me see why several practices of Meditation exists to curb, control, and stop this seeking. And yes, the years of seeking also add to it, it makes sense that the seeking won't stop in a day, because the seeking didn't star at the level it now is in a day.

Thank you! Ultimately there are two directions or types of spiritual movements: escape from the hell or achievement the paradise. It seems to me everyone have to recognize the main motivation, the general strategy of his/her spiritual direction: from or towards?

There's just no describing the nature of being. The recognition is, as Rupert says, the naturally occurring absence of the impulse to seek. Kinda like, am i continually aware of absence of a toothache once it is gone? No. Just resting and finding comfort in the groundless ground of being.
It’s about always stepping back into your sanctuary which is your being no matter what you are doing. You never have to leave it just because you are engaged and participating in life.
Rupert, you refer to those people in the audience who have been coming to your meetings for years. Are they not in the same boat as the guy asking the question? When do you stop seeking? With all due respect you’d be out of a job if your message was the “direct”. I watch you because your message soothes the mind which in turn soothes the body. I AM in this human form and it enjoys watching you try to convince people of the obvious ❤
I agree. There are simple ways to put an end to seeking. With the correct guidence it is usually a very quick process. Having been a seeker myself, I can relate to the issues many have in this regard. Now I have helped many past that 'last' hurdle.
Self is a Honda, the mind wants a RollsRoyce. It’s a mistake to think one is a noun, like ‘awareness’, or ‘infinity’, or Self etc, because it creates an object that the mind will glom onto. Without the mind there is no objectivity, no separation, no limit. Surrendering all attachment to the content of mind brings one back to the unspeakable silence.
In the path to true happiness and freedom what you have to measure is how you were reacting/ feeling towards something in the past and the present. has it changed for good? is there any kind of peace or comfort that you were able to gain ? does it not make you confused, stressed, angry or unsettled as it used to? if yes, you can assume that you are in the right path.
What ever you experiencing is thought , thats your illusion , but forget everything you know and see the world as you dont know anything , including body and mind
We tend to think of enlightenment as an achievement, where we finally arrive at a life that is mostly smooth sailing, and mostly free of adversities, or an unrealistic tolerance for them. Awakening is the progressive ending of delusions and is quite painful... and continues to be the longer you resist. That's why we've been avoiding it all our lives. Enlightenment definitely has to become an acquired taste.
"Sinking into a comfy sofa" sounds like an ego-friendly way of looking at things to me. In my personal experience, an awakening is a dissolution (even if only temporarily) of the personal construct, and therefore the judging of things automatically disappears ... More like falling without a chance of ever landing again ... no one grasping and nothing to hold on to ...
👽🙏😆666. I am that which is permanent and that which is temporary and moving. Though I am neither absolutely. That which witnesses the permanent and the temporary though itself is uncaused and unseen. ✝--->That I Am

@ This is the truth of it. It’s a realization, not a result. This was available your whole life. Then you simply just realized it. Beautiful!

This is likely why Ramana kept saying that silence was the highest teaching. The comfort of Being: rest as That 🙏
This! Life is the path. Frequency of realization increases. We ARE changing. I see it in how I manage my day to day as I am WALKING HOME!

Substitute seeking with gratitude 💫
( Letting Go ) is an antidote and is possibly the correct prescription here.
❤ We are already home we just have to realize it. ❤
You seek..until you Surrender 😊❤
Do you give in? Do you give up something? Or is it final acceptance?

Our minds interfere & cause seeking but we are already our true nature

The compassion i feel for you i cant even describe , even in the path they suffer immensely,
8 mins or so in. This old habit is what I recognise in myself.. the mind wants more. It does not want to believe that "this is it"!!
Maybe there is more to it than simply arriving.

Beautiful Rupert , I totally agree with what you said
Immense gratitude and love ❤🙏
"I'd like it to be over" precisely my point. I want this so-called life to stop and end, I've had more than enough.

I honestly wish i could give up the seeking. It's not as easy as it is said. My mind never stops chattering.

Some rooms are cluttered, some are full of dirt and dust, some are neat and tidy, while others remain empty clean and swept.

Until Rupert and Jim Newman have a conversation we are all missing out.
I have a feeling that would be a very short conversation 😂
Jim "This is it"
Rupert "Yes"
Laughter, then
Silence......
Y’all are smart

Everyone is in search of themselves. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that is really what it's all about.

Don’t seek. Be in silence.
One question to the questioner is: What do you think will be the signal, that you have reached the goal that you are seeking and that it is over?
What is the signal when you've had enough to eat?

The most direct path I've found until now is to study and practice the teachings from A Course In Miracles (ACIM).
