Polly Ethylen on first listen, probably Upon Doing Something Wrong or My Shadow Life but that’s probably to do with them sounding most ‘familiar’, if you will... Tbh I’m still ‘finding’ the album atm but the last time I remember doing that with an album I expected to like was Grace by Jeff Buckley! So it’s in very VERY decent company. Not saying it’ll be a personal top 10 record of mine but it’s gonna have to grow on me - it’s not as immediate as Black Pudding was, imo. If it’s ok me asking, how long have you been listening to Mark (in all incarnations) & do you have any personal favs? P.s thanks for the reply. 🙂
Algernon radish, I feel pretty similar about this album! Kind of has more 'edges' than black pudding but is interesting nevertheless. Hmm, I think the first thing I heard from Lanegan was the Blues Funeral Album back in 2012, prbly one of my favs together with Black Pudding, although the Screaming Trees stuff is pretty awesome too! A little happier than the other stuff.. but actually I like most of his music a lot for the way he sings. 'Kingdoms of rain' or 'The Stations' are really good too. Could go on like this for a while :D What about you?
