Not so much a time management tip but I like to get the most unpleasant or difficult tasks over with first. I guess most people do though. Your writing jobs down and giving them an approximate time allotment is a great idea.
Hahahaha! Poor Darby in the hot seat. As for time management, I'm the worst person in the world to ask, probably. My Google calendar is my personal assistant and set up on every device I own. If I have things that I MUST get done by a hard deadline, then I put that date and time into my phone and set the reminders for 2 different points: when I need to start thinking about it and when I need to sit down (or leave) to start doing it. I also make notes within the appointment, so I have more detail available about what I should be doing. I find this allows me to free up my time to worry about things other than scheduling/deadlines, and my phone alarms are annoying as hell so I definitely don't miss out on the important stuff. - honestly this is me though... I have 3 mixed media drawings and an oil painting to finish by midnight tomorrow...and I'm watching this blog post of yours from 2 years ago. So yeah, I'm not self-disciplined enough with my time to make it as an artist :-/
