if you only tool sealant in one direction, a lot of it never makes contact with both substrate surfaces. Always tool your sealant back, forth, & finish. Especially if you have to create a structural seal. Take it from a journeyman, do it right, do it once. Do it wrong, do something else. You should probably take this video down, or at least provide the appropriate information. If that seal fails, or if you get sued for interior water damage, you just publicly showed that the sealant wasn't applied properly. And with DC 795 being the most used structural sealant in the industry, you're promoting a method that could lead to huge problems for anyone that uses it.
You are absolutely correct I’ve been a journeyman caulker for over 45 years. Sealant always needs to be tooled in both directions. Also should have used bond breaker tape and primer on the metal to metal joint. While 795 will bond well , in technical terms this a very poor joint design and needs all of the help it can get It’s this type of joint that 123 tape was developed.
All these caulking videos are clueless that Wayne belcher guy says he’s been caulking for 40 years and can’t run the gun can’t knife worth a damn and this guys no better
this adhere to granite stone?
