Nice lesson. The half step between the second and flat third and the four half steps between the flat third and perfect fifth invoke the sound of South Indian Carnatic ragas. 🔥🎸🎶👍🏽💙
The minor 6/9 Pentatonic scale is formula 1-2-3b-4-5-6-b7? this is the same as the Dorian scale. What are the differences between a Dorian scale and a minor 6/9 pentatonic scale?
@@waynegram8907 A nice progression for this would be (in C dorian) C minor 7 to D minor 7. SO I min 7 to II Min 7 - VAMP that and enjoy playing great solos! 😊😊
I am a professional guitarist/teacher for 38 years now..... I couldn't get through this video and stopped watching at half the length. I understand everything you say and play but I think the amount of information you give in very fast tempo makes it undigestable.
Thank you for your feedback and for watching the video. Sure yes there is a lot of information. I will ponder about what you are saying. The idea here is not to 'deeply and slowly teach' but just to inspire guitarists to try new things out.
thank you for sharing, very enjoyable twists on the pentatonic scale
Thank you so much Ramsey! 😊😊 Much appreciated!

Gary Oldham re-inventing himself again. Amazing.
Exactly! 😊😊
Presumably we're getting a C Dorian sound with the m3 and M6
Yes absolutely Dave! 😊😊
Also C Melodic Minor ! 😊😊 (1 2 b3 4 5 6 7 ) - more for the jazz realm!
Very Indian raaga aproach
Thank you!

Pentatonic is 5 notes. So the standard minor pent. is 1,b3, 4,5,b7. The Coltrane or 6/9 pent. Is 1,2,b3,5,6.
@RaiderJay9092 but what chords can you use to play over the 6/9 pentatonic scale?

C minor 7 to D minor 7.

@@RaiderJay9092 Called the Coltrane pent? 😊😊 COOL!
@@stefanjoubert I thought a Dorian VAMP is minor i - IV major?
