Hi Divya, thanks for the kind words. So the camera on top is part of our StyleShoots Horizontal machine. Basically, there is a steel beam floating above where a Canon SLR is embedded inside that points directly downward. Without using our machine, there are tripods you can use that are able to be pointed downwards to achieve the same top-down perspective. Hope that helps!
so cool! can i ask what kind of backdrop you use for the flatlay shoot? just wondering can i use just a white background? then process in photoshop?Thankyou.
She is using the StyleShoots Horizontal machine, which has an active glass backlight. When taking a photo, it switches from dark to bright and the system uses multiple photos to calculate the full alpha transparency. It outputs a transparent PNG.
We're using the StyleShoots Horizontal machine, which includes a full studio inside one device - camera, electronics, computer, software, lights and an iPad to control everything. You can see all the details here: www.styleshoots.com
We're using a StyleShoots Horizontal machine. The machine cuts out the background automatically. You can check out more at www.styleshoots.com/photography-machines And sorry, we don't have any tutorials that focus on editing. However there are a fair few tutorials around RUclips that can help you out with post-production techniques.
I have a Canon Rebel T3, I need to photograph clothing only for an ecommerce site. I am currently using the lens kit it came with, 18-55MM Macro. I am not getting the desired crisp quality on the photographs I take, they are decent but I want to be able to zoom in a little but on the actual photograph and look good. I use lights with ISO of 100 and using F8-F11. Should I get better lens if so which ones? Or should I get the newest canon DSLR camera?Anyone out there do e-commerce photographs of clothing? Would you mind telling me what lens and F stop/Shutter speeds you used to take that photograph?
Hi Jessica, thanks for your comment. Unfortunately the style of shooting set up we use doesn't translate well to camera settings in a traditional digital studio - so we aren't able to be of much help here!

Hi Jessica, I would suggest the Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM lens. This is easily the best value Canon lens (~$120) and will produce very sharp images.
it looks normal, like something is missing (sorry for my comment) maybe the shirt needs to be filled again with something
