Yeah, I remember when my family moved to LA in 1987, tickets to Disneyland were only $35. You could just walk into the park and ride on whatever. I haven't been to Disneyland since 2003 and probably won't ever get the chance again. It would cost my family upwards of $600 to go for a day, and that doesn't even include airfare or hotel. The 15th Birthday at Walt Disney World was a great time to be a cast member, during a great decade. Epcot Center had been open for 4 years and was in its heyday - Parks were still inexpensive, relatively speaking, and not packed to the gills like they are today. Eisner hadn't yet tanked the guest experience. It was just good all the way around.
Did you work there then? I did and me and my husband were in the audience for Ray Charles and the Monkees. It was all cast members and their families and they filmed those parts over night. We were there for about 6-8 hours. They treated us to food at the Tomorrowland terrace.
I worked in Tickets and Transportation as a Cast Member back then. We were giving New Cars away to guests as they entered Magic Kingdom…So many great memories !!

My mom noticed the audio and came rushing over as she remembered when she was my age. I wish the Disney magic could be like this again and thanks for uploading :,D🎇🏰
Just compare this to what has been done for the 50th. It's sad how the 15th has so much more fun and Disney magic than the 50th so far. I was almost 5 when my family went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time in October 1987, and we got to experience some of the 15th anniversary before it ended.
My parents had the part from 1:15:00-1:24:00 ("Your kitty cat craves Crave!") recorded on tape and, all these years, I was so convinced this was a Golden Girls episode (because it's just the part where Betty White talks about visiting Epcot). but ... have you seen an elephant fly?
Loved this!
Now this was wonderful to watch! Thank you! And Walt Disney World this is the way you should have celebrated the 50th! Such pride in this country and it didn’t feel like Disney was taking us to the cleaners!
Absolutely love this
