This is a very common thing we have to deal with. If the PLB and the gas inspectors get there stuff together the consumer won’t have any problems. Love your work from Perth WA

Calling from England here.Out of interest what gas appliances are usually installed in houses in Australia ?
Like the video on this water heater and I like that they are fitted externally.
Will watch more of your videos.

Awesome video with full and in my opinion, excellent information.
Wondering if you had some advice for those of us that aren't plumbers and don't know the regulations or building codes, how do we sort out which quotes are professional and correct. I know personally of a plumber who had to learn more codes as his plumber wasn't following codes and he moved and worked for someone else and what he was doing previously was wrong. I also know of tradies that do a good job, but charge like they have golden spanners.

Looks like there could have been a Vulcan freeloader there originally and was replaced by a continuous flow gas water heater hence the 15mm pipe work thru the brick cavity . Only a fool would run 15mm copper back to the gas meter. Especially with Aussie copper pipe sizing being the external diameter of the pipe and not the internal bore as in New Zealand. You only need a kitchen hob to be on or a Brivis heater and then the water heater will go to fault code 12 (insufficent gas at burner)

Nice job, how did you go about connecting the hot and cold pipes through the block wall at the kitchen? Did you cut an access panel in there or? I'd love to know the method, thanks.

Do you have a regulation in WA for the instantaneous to be 1.5 m away from any window ? That's how it is in NSW how close you had it to the window would have been illegal here was just curious.
