They were only showing the nicer areas that have been recently redeveloped. They didn’t show any of the NE/SE. industrial area or Ogden/Bonnybrook area. Your only seeing about 35/40% of Calgary in this video.
Surrealplaces here :-) Wow, Josh, this is the best video I've seen of Calgary. Everything about it is well done, and shows off the city. Tourism Calgary should use this in ad campaigns.
Josh, I’ve seen some very impressive videos of Calgary, but this one totally takes the cake. Spectacular job… editing, music…. All very much to my liking. Thank you.
I am moving there from Vancouver Island as it is too pricey to live here. Plus Calgary is a beautiful clean City. Can't wait to start exploring. Well done.
As an Ottawan after I spent July at an energy environment course in Calgary I urged my senior students to choose the U of Calgary as it was a beautiful campus in a clean, beautiful city where you could go hiking in the Kananaskis, ski, hike at Lake Louise, white water canoe down the Bow River. Great for the outdoor lifestyle.
@4:32 I have a newfound appreciation for the Wonderland sculpture after seeing this aerial view. It's shadow seems to have volume in a way you can't see from ground level
Beautiful video and FLY too. Since the time I came to this City ..he has completely changed in a fantastically better way. Thank you for sharing this amazing video. Greetings from N.W. Calgary.👌🍁🍹💕🍷👍
Love, Love, Love your video of the BEAUTIFUL city I live in. Regardless of what some other negative people have said - boring, ugly etc. I feel blessed to call this city home. Thanks very much for capturing some of its beauty.Best video of Calgary I have seen. Thanks for sharing.
This is wonderful Josh. I live in Medicine Hat but have always called Calgary the Hat’s big sister. You have captured the beauty and diversity of my favourite home away from home. ♥️
I've briefly visited Calgary going to Banff a few years ago, had I known there was this much to see still I would of definitely spent more time there! Wonderful views and angles all around 😀
Thank you for the video! While I was watching it I was thinking “gosh, he is missing my street and I really think is a very nice spot in the city” and then there it was, the very last scene in your video😀. Thank you Calgary, I have to go because of professional goals and after living here for 9 years (7 in the Mission area). Thank you Calgarians for being always so friendly to me and my wife. All the best!
As a fellow Mini 2 pilot myself, I am most inspired by your work and congratulate you. I have done snippets myself but frankly got tremendously nervous near the skyscrapers, fearing interference and loss of signal. I am going to revisit my approach next summer. Once again, great work. Roger
Josh , I love /hate this video ...I love it , well for the obvious reasons... it's an incredible video of the city that I was born in and spending my whole ( 60 years ) life in ... I hate it , because it shows me just just how much of my beautiful city that I've totally missed out on . ( and yes, that's certainly , a " ME " problem ) . All I can think now , is how to be able to actually find some of these places ( others are obvious ) and make time to see them up close Loved the music , but would also love to have you narrated locations as you flew over them . Back in the mid 70's , in the fall , pre ski season , every year , we would go the Jubilee Auditorium for a couple of skiing film presentations but on by Warren Millar , and Dick Barrymore . Incredible footage , of all kinds of skiing ( snowboards weren't even thought up yet ) , ( oh . and neither were drones ) and each of these guys would be up on stage , doing live narration of what we were seeing . ( often with a good sense of humor ) After seeing those ....one would pray every night for heavy snowfalls in the mountains ( most obviously on the ski hills ) We couldn't hardly wait for ski hills to open . This is 100% what comes to mind of your abilities !!! count me in as a subscriber

Can the next one showcase homegrown musical talent as the soundtrack? (Props for classical music, though!! Maybe the Calgary Philharmonic, Calgary Opera, Land's End Ensemble, or Kensington Sinfonia? Any local musicians would be awesome, though...)
Gosh, I probably did about 50 flights or so that gathered the variety of footage that made up this video. I have a couple others from 2021 as well. Hope to go further afield and capture more of the areas surrounding the city this year too. Thanks for the kind words.
Not allowed to fly over Nose Hill or Fish Creek Park, actually based on City (Nose Hill) and Provincial (Fish Creek) rules. Some people complaining I am not shooting enough of suburbs - there are a few suburban areas like Winsport and the NW YMCA in there, but overall the view over a sea of single family houses isn't that interesting - to my eye, at least.
@@Wooster2006 thanks for the response Josh, I'm a graphic designer/motion designer but will study software development there next year. Will I be able to find part time jobs and affordable rental place?
Do you need a permit to fly around the city? I could just imagine if you didn’t there would be drones everywhere because it’s such a lovely place to view from the air… Seriously Canadians are lucky to live in such a place.
Damn, this makes me want to visit the city I live in. Great job!
As a Calgarian, born and raised, I can say with certainty that the city looks way better from the air.
You don't love the City you were born and raised in? It is a City but its a really clean one by the looks of it and rather pretty.
Most Calgarians are quite humble so usually don’t say ”our city is the best”😉
@@tamarashiels570 Trust me when I say it is not clean. People dump garbage all over the place, not giving a care in the world.
I was just thinking the same thing.

I live here and this one makes me want to actually live here unlike other "Come to Calgary" videos haha
Great edit.
Love this video! Where is your favourite place in Calgary, Josh?
The river pathways are hard to beat
wonderful wonderful
West Calgary would be nice with the mountains in the back of the shots.. Griffith park, Canada Olympic park, nose hill would be nice as well.
Incredible drone shots 😍😍😍..which drone did you use for this video? 😶😶😶
Wow superb job.
Calgary is so similar to Denver it's uncanny.
Absolutely. I used to travel to Denver for work a fair amount a few years ago. Felt very at home.
Amazingly beautiful city, would like to visit and settle over here if I can. Peace
Great video, born and raised here. Show some fish creek next time, would be super cool to see, love the park
Not allowed to fly over provincial parks like Fish Creek, but hope to maybe shoot it from an angle!
Perfect 🥰

By the way you from Calgary?
Nice Job !!!!
Very nice
I saw myself sailing on glenmore
WOW, I never knew Calgary was that nice.
Interesting 🤔

Riley Park, in inner NW Calgary
Planning to study in Calgary next year, how is quality of life there and the crime rate? job prospects?
Very high quality of life. Crime rate low. Job prospects depend on the sector, but there's lots of opportunity here.

Not for under 250g drones, no. There are some basic rules to follow, however. Some no go locations, especially near airports, etc.
Where is this place at a minute thirty six?
South Glenmore Park - new pump track
Can anyone please tell me where is the location at 0:11, is it the Glenmore Reservoir?

Lower house prices, higher minimum wages, an amazing environment, near Banff. so why do we go to Vancouver, Toronto? both of them only welcome richer!
