Thank you for the question. I've been meaning to re-do this video. I've incorrectly stated that you need to subtract 500ft, when you need to add it. If you go back to 6:25, there is a Density Altitude Chart. On the right side there is a Pressure altitude conversion factor. If you look at 29.4 it says to add 485ft. Thank you for pointing this out.
The second example is incorrect! To get the pressure altitude you must ADD 500 feet. If you take a close look at that chart you flash for the problem you can see that the correct adjustment for a altimeter setting of 29.40 is +485 feet. Please be careful with teaching aviation.
